Game play is just as intense and exciting as the charity bingo hall around the corner, fast paced, strict policies (better be quick to yell out bingo if you win!), lots of opportunities for cash prizes, friendly helpful people all around, and about 3-4 hours of bingo fun! Though the payouts are lower at St. John's ($100 payouts for early bird games, $200 payouts for regular games, plus $50 increase per game on the last Monday of the month), the buy-in is lower as well. As of July 2024, buy-in is $25, then $5 per game set after that. Each set (one pack) has 15 bingo sheets consisting of 5 early bird games and 10 regular games. Each sheet in the set has 6 bingo boards. The bingo games have quite a range of patterns throughout the evening in order to win, like "small crazy kite" or "postage stamps", and who knew that hitting all four corners on the board counts as a bingo!?! Thank goodness they also provide an easy-to-follow instruction sheet, so you know what you're playing and you don't miss anything, since the game goes quickly. Workers/volunteers also walk around selling flash, strip, cherry bell, and other special games. We got a few flash cards (kinda like scratchers, but cheaper with lower winnings)... won a buck total from 10 cards, lol. A food truck on site allows participants to enjoy some dinner or snacks while playing. We grabbed a couple tacos from the mexican food truck outside during one of the breaks, and it was pretty good. The event is open to ages 18 and over, though the crowd looks like mainly 50 and older. Even being some of the youngest players there, we fit in just fine and had a pleasant time at bingo night... will be back to win more than a dollar next time.

Longevity Wines are located in an industrial building in an unremarkable location. However, one step inside, you will be transported outside with its barn theme and spacious tasting space! Our jaws were dropped and we vowed to never judge a book by its cover again LOL We got a Groupon for wine tasting for 2 with 2 charcuterie boxes. That's why we drove to Livermore to visit this tasting room. We were blown away for sure! As soon as we walked in, staff Tammy greeted us and let us pick our seating spot. This tasting room opens at 1pm and we were their first customers. However, it was filled up fast. Tammy greeted everyone and it seemed like they were all returning customers. Though the tasting room got crowded later, we all had our own spaces and privacy and the entire experience felt very intimate. We love the outdoor and barn vibe! Occasionally we forgot that we were inside. Tammy slowly introduced us to a flight of 6 for our wine tasting. She explained the wine itself, how it was made and its origin. Out of the 6 wines that we tried, we loved the Cabernet Franc from Dublin the best! It's so light, oaky and has a nice finish :) Each of us got our own charcuterie boxes which were made fresh and delivered the day of from Pleasanton, according to Tammy. So everything felt extra special because they were sourced locally. One thing that touched us the most was that Tammy, though being very busy herself, took time to sit down and chat with us. She told us about the history behind heart logo and the touching story of the owners Phil and Debra. That Phil had the tattoo of the heart logo on his arm so that he felt Debra's presence with him. Debra passed away due to cancer a few years ago. Our pup Butter also had a wonderful time being at home here at the tasting room. We will definitely be back soon!

Our photographer had no trouble finding stunning backdrops to use for photos. It ended up raining on our wedding day, so we weren't able to get married in front of the oak tree on the ceremony lawn, but the indoor option ended up working perfectly! Plus, the food at Castlewood is phenomenal. Sandy was an absolute joy to work with while we were planning our event. She was very responsive, patient, and kind while we were navigating the planning process and asking a thousand questions. This was pretty much the first/only Thanksgiving that my family didn't cook at home... like ever. A family member of mine is a member here and suggested, as long as everyone one is on board, that we just pay a nominal amount and do our Thanksgiving meal here. The price felt really reasonable ($75 in 2025) especially since no one was stressing about cooking and clean up etc. We had a pretty large group that included my family, in laws, etc. so the convenience was really appreciated. The food was good too. It was served buffet style and they had seafood, salad, plenty of sides, and some carving stations... oh and a dessert area. There were also beverages to purchase. I got there a little early and got a nice pour of bourbon before the rest of my family got there. There was also a professional photographer on the premises to get pictures from the holiday. Definitely a great option to spend this holiday for sure! Parking was very easy - as they have lots of accessible lots and I think the rest of the club was closed that day.
