At least I can get a proper double espresso before boarding. I needed a doppio after walking through the rats maze of hallways in this airport to get to the gate!
I have to say, the sandwiches which they will press for you after ordering are just incredible. How simple meat and cheese and perhaps fresh and 100% organic arugula can be so good, compared to any sandwich in the US, can be hard to explain...
Perhaps it is the quality of the fresh bread, crunchy and flavorful, made with local high-quality flour rather than the 10% sawdust flour we get in the U.S...
Perhaps it is 1000's of years of perfecting the art of meat curing, using traditional and 100% chemical-free, methods...
Perhaps it is 1000's of years of artisan cheese making, resulting in formaggio that is so strong, tasty and pure, it is the best anywhere in the world and beyond.
Perhaps it is all three of these reasons!
Whatever it is, the sandwiches are scrumptious when paired with espresso. read more
