It also couldn't have looked more inviting. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. It wasn't a sunny day but the outdoor seating did provide shelter from the misty rain. The waiter took our order (one Valtellinese pizza) and shortly our food arrived. I found it a nice touch that the kitchen split the pizza in half so we could share it easily. We were also given plates and silverware. L'Ambrosiano is no ordinary cafe. It's a bit classier. The pizza was delicious and covered amply in braseola and mushrooms. The sauce was slightly sweet and brought the whole pizza together. I did enjoy eating my pizza with a fork and knife, a far cry from folding it in half and eating with hands New York style. What a great way to enjoy Como. It topped off our morning of silk scarves, cloud bread, gardens, and farmers markets.

Apparently, airport joy can also come in cone form! The small size (pictured) comes with two scoops, while the regular gives you the option of trying three flavours or having three scoops of the same flavour. The tiramisu Venchi was definitely a hit for both my partner and me. Highly recommend! They also have chocolates for purchase, if you need a last minute gift purchase. One thing we didn't love: we were asked if we wanted dark or milk melted chocolate inside our cones, which sounded like it was included. It turned out to be an extra €2 each. We didn't mind paying, but the way it was offered felt a bit unclear. All things considered, delicious gelato and a great final Italy treat.

He must have sensed the hangries coming on, big time. I had the vegetarian club (€10) and my bf had a pastrami club (€11). While I usually go with whole wheat bread, the white bread was just great. Both of us had a smoothie, pure fruit and veggies, nothing more. And we had to follow it up with a coffee! The bakery case was tempting with cookies, pastries and cakes. The food was fresh and light and the prices extremely fair. The staff was attentive and they gave us a tasing menu as we wanted to share everything. The eggplant appetizer melts in your mouth, the gnocchi was so smooth and the pork was excellent. I don't take pictures of food but I wish I did. Don't miss this place!!
