Pizza with spicy salami and pineapple
Matt K.

As a New Yorker, I have had my share of excellent pizza. However, when near the Italian border, I knew I had to try the best pizza places in the area since I've always loved Italy's pizza when I've been lucky enough to be in the vicinity. It did not disappoint. I had spicy salami and pineapple on my pie and it was super tasty. The vegetarian lasagna was enjoyed (though surprise there are peas in it in case that bothers you). The osso bucco was deemed ok not great. Wine was excellent and the restaurant is in a lively location in the main drag in zermatt.

This place has great food! I was looking for a place to eat and noticed a group of people going in. When I walked in, it was packed and that meant that it was good. To start, I ordered the minestrone soup which was by far the best minestrone that I ever had. Then I ordered the 4 Fiagio or something like it and it was great! I had to order Tiramisu as I am addicted to it and it was by far one of the BESTEST Tiramisu that I ever had. If you are ever in Zermatt and you are wondering where to go? This is your place! You can see how they make the pizza, the servers are pleasant and they speak, Italian, English, German, French. I think that you are covered!

We were only in town for two nights. We found Grampi's listed as a must try. We did not have a reservation for dinner but they were happy to accommodate us with a one and 3/4 hour slot at a lovely window table. We ordered a Diavolo pizza and Carbonara. Both were delicious, and enormous portions. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was unique with an artistic nod to the town, the ski culture, and the rich Italian heritage of the staff. As Americans we were missing some familiar foods on our extended vacation. We were pleased to find our favorite dishes with a more authentic flavor due to the proximity to Italy. In fact, the chairlift in Zermatt will take you to the Italian side of the mountain to ski, but getting good Italian dinner didn't require an enhanced lift pass.

They oddly have a little bit of everything. Our bartender recommended the ribs. (We recommend getting it BBQ with the spicy sauce on the side). That sauce is solid. I got the osso bucco and needed a little daily but with that spicy sauce it was phenomenal. Their pizza was tasty as well. We got a trio bruschetta and we recommend just getting the eggplant version. The other ones were not as good. Service was great and actually fast

Veal liver with onions with vegetables and polenta

Totally Italian! The atmosphere, the waiters, the food! Everything was perfect. We started with a large charcuterie board of meats and cheeses, plenty for the four of us. We then had a variety of dinners. Mine was veal liver with onions and polenta. It was excellent.

Great late night spot for pizza. There are really only two places for food late night in Zermatt. I do have to say I prefer the pasta place next door. Still solid pizza.

My wife found this place listed as a must-do when in Zermatt. Reservations are recommended but the restaurant fills up quickly as soon as they open at 6 pm. My family shared two pizzas and the Diavolo pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella and spicy salami was one of the best pizzas I have tasted in my life. The service is quick and professional. Our server was from Italy as are most of the staff.

Very rustic, homey restaurant. Servers were friendly throughout our service and dinner felt very relaxing. The ribs and involtini (aubergine rolls) were my personal favorite -- packed with flavor and just melted in my mouth! Had some great cheese pulls and deliciously tart tomato sauce too.

Generous portions and prompt service. Stopped by thinking of grabbing some pizza. They are usually always busy so try to get a reservation if you can. Portions sizes are large. The ribs were excellent, but not quite unique if you're here for vacation from the US. Plenty of much better bbq ribs in the states. The pizza had excellent dough, good texture and chew but the toppings were bland. Decor was Italian-esque with similar like service but more of a "rush" feeling relative to other Italian dining experiences, mostly due to it being a tourist town. At the end, waiter asked if we wanted to leave tip, which was too forward and they probably only ask this of tourist and not locals. Prices was reasonable but plenty of other good options in zermatt for a repeat here.

Came here after an exhausting day of skiing. Spaghetti booognese - DELICIOUS. Didn't even bother ruining it with Parmesan To drink - Heina white wine Great service. Overall not the best Italian I've ever had but definitely hit the spot and I'd def come back!

Slow service, but good food. Can't go wrong if you're looking for a late night dinner in Zermatt. Seems like it's always packed.

We tried adding few extra toppings like peppers, jalapeños and basil and what a bomb it turned out to be.

There aren't many places in Zermatt with plant-based options on a reasonable budget (less than 40…read moreCHF per person for a meal), but this was one of them that opened relatively earlier starting late May around when we went. I was looking forward to trying the restaurant, but overall my family left feeling disappointed. We got a Bloody Mary (16 CHF) and were surprised when it tasted like spiced airplane tomato juice without any hint of alcohol. For food, we got the Ochiette vegan pasta, the tofu - mashed potato vegan dish, the Paglioni pasta, and Parmigiana pizza. They brought out the wrong order for me and in remaking my ochiette pasta, they likely rushed, and some of the pasta ended up undercooked. I was stuck trying to clean my teeth of undercooked pasta bits at the end. Otherwise the sauce tasted great. The teriyaki tofu - mashed potato dish was an interesting flavor combination. I personally actually didn't mind it at all and enjoyed the mild sweetness in the potatoes, but my sister didn't like the flavors mixed. We enjoyed the Parmigiana pizza and the Paglioni pasta. The entire time they played American music from before 2015 that weren't even the top hits. It was an interesting atmosphere.

We stumbled across this restaurant after walking down from the viewpoint last night…read more When we arrived the gentleman that greeted us was telling us there was a table ready at that moment knowing there was a reservation an hour and a half later. We didn't understand at first because it was quite loud and then he ended up slowly saying, "Do. You. Understand?" While he said that I noticed a bartender shaking his head looking at us like we were idiots and started laughing with a waitress while looking over at us. That's not all... he seated us with no menus. I was looking at the menu online until a waiter finally brings some after a few minutes. That same waiter seemed stressed and said the f word after walking away from another table. We order our food and he brings some bread over... I honestly believe this was at another table that didn't finish it because it came to our table looking like this!! I didn't even touch or move it at all. I looked at everyone else's bread and it was nicely sliced. LOL insane. The pizza and steak we got were pretty good but the service was so terrible. I genuinely believe they all hate being there or they hate tourists. I'm sure there are better places in Zermatt with friendly staff and food that is just as good. Definitely go elsewhere.
