When I'm invited to someone's home, I like to show up with something delightful--something that says, "Thanks for having me, and also, let's eat carbs." So as we made our way from friends in Florida to friends in Tennessee, I fell down the rabbit hole of bakery hunting. Priorities, right? Grain Bin popped up--cute name, promising vibes, and just a couple miles from our friend's place. A solid breadcrumb trail to follow. And let me tell you: great move on our part. Tucked down a quiet country road, surrounded by fields and the occasional judgmental chicken, this little farm bakery smells like butter, sugar, and somebody's Meemaw whispering, "Don't forget the vanilla." It's the kind of place where you feel like you've stepped into a storybook--if the storybook had cinnamon rolls and zero cell service. We picked up a loaf of their sweet sourdough--along with a tactical variety of cookies and pastries, because generosity is important but so is sampling. That Southern sweet sourdough? A beautiful contradiction in loaf form. Tangy enough to remind you it's sourdough, but with just enough sweetness to make you wonder if it's flirting with you. Toasted, buttered, and paired with morning coffee, it made each day of our stay feel like a slow dance on a porch swing. Sweet, tangy, a little rustic--like comfort food that dressed up for Sunday service but still wore its comfy shoes. Our friends, local residents for at least 2 years, had never been. Never! Naturally, we felt like culinary pioneers. Hopefully they'll return, sit on the patio, soak in the view, and wonder how they lived so long without sweet sourdough and a side of butter-induced bliss. read more

Wow, this place was so incredible. It's out in the middle of nowhere, I wasn't sure if I was headed the right direction as I passed goats and cows. I finally arrived, it's a cute little country store with baked goods. Unfortunately, I went for cake and they were sold out, I didn't think about it being graduation weekend. However, I got some cookies and coconut cake balls. The coconut cake balls were one of the best things I have ever had in my entire life. Someday I will return and get the entire cake! The cookies were great as were the savory scones. I also got some pickled okra, there are some basics in the fridge section and Gift type things plus just incredible baked goods. What a beautiful and fun farm!! They have multiple things to do with the kids- tic tac toe, swings, teeter totters, a maze, corn hole, connect four, live sheep and goats...an antique truck to take pictures with...if your hungry they have the best homemade cookies here for just a dollar a cookie, chicken salad sandwich with grapes in it..yummy. beef vegetable soup with lots of veggies in it. AND the gals who work behind the counter are full of personality and warmth. Eat inside, outside or in the barn with wonderful items for your home to purchase or gifts for a friend. It's a piece of heaven between the yumminess, beauty, warmth and just that AAAHHHHH FEELING! A delight. Great place to stop, we thought we may be lost because it is down a country road with farms on beautiful land but there on the right was the best little bakery, great treats and worth the drive. After purchasing ; Lemon bars, cookies, cinnamon bread and almond Joy puffs we were back on the road to Dahlonga GA. read more

Their mission is "Love on others" and that's what they do! Through the delicious food of course! We found this place while exploring some back roads and decided to search for a bakery. They didn't disappoint. The most welcoming and kind people work here. It felt as if we walked into a friends home for a quick visit. We bought a handful of sweets and they are amazing! Especially the crack puff corns and the cream cheese muffins. Beautiful location. Outdoor seating and best of all, puppers! Definitely recommend for the food but solely for the really kind people who run the business. 10/10. read more

i ordered a pineapple upside down cake for a birthday and had some friends pick it up for a birthday, i spoke to callie on the phone she took my order and was very cordial and should be proud of the operation. after orderng and paying i remebered i forgot to have the person name and happy b-day place on the cake and i called back the next day and asked if they could take care of that request, she said sure, i asked if there would be another charge for the request and she said no, this being good news it was time too wait unitl it was recieved. the taste, quality, and customer service was outstanding, i would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing cakes, breads, or anything of that nature ... i am attaching a photo that was taken upon arrival and their skill to place a smaller topper on the cake for the "happy-b-day" was outstanding ...their phone nuumber is 865-599-9001 and based on my experience you cannot go wrong, price was acceptable. as i didnt get to seet the facility i dont feel qualified to comment, but i can same the product was certainly and a+++ read more

This place is a hidden gem! Kind and welcoming greetings when you walk in the door and then you get a wonderful aroma of fresh baked cookies and goodies. What a great countryside bakery. Lots of goodies to taste and buy. We settled on a loaf of zucchini bread and a pecan type shortbread. Outstanding. They will also bake a cake or pie of your choice if you call ahead. They have ice cream and milk products as well as various country decor items for sale. You don't know what you're missing if you don't try Callie's Cracked Corn. When I go through east Tennessee I make it a point to call ahead and order this delectable, one of a kind treat. Found out it is an original recipe by the owners making it a treat you can't get anywhere else. First, I am a lover of caramel corn. For many years I have made a point to go to the Karmel Korn speciality shop in Gatlinburg, Tenn. when I am in Tenn. It is undoubtably the best Karmel Korn in the world. Found out about this special treat which may or may not be caramel corn, but it is made of corn. The bakery is around Sweetwater a little way off Interstate 75. I tried it out! It is especially delicious. The thing that advanced it to Number One in the world, in my opinion, is the lack of a kernel. That's right! Not a single kernel to break a tooth. Its pricy, but every member of my family would make me go back they didn't get their individual bag of this stuff if I returned home without it. Wow it is amazing. All the goodies there that we bought were outstanding. Tried some milk they had and ended up drinking it all and buying 3 half gallons to take home with us.
