Smokin F Barbecue delivers the kind of brisket that makes you slow down and appreciate every bite…read more The bark had a deep, smoky crust with just the right amount of seasoning, while the meat itself was tender, juicy, and full of rich beef flavor--not dried out or overwhelmed by sauce. Each slice had that ideal balance of smoke, fat, and rendered tenderness that good barbecue brisket is supposed to have. The sausage was equally impressive. It had a satisfying snap to the casing, a smoky, well-seasoned interior, and enough spice to keep it interesting without setting your mouth on fire. It paired perfectly with the brisket: one rich and melt-in-your-mouth, the other hearty, savory, and pleasantly peppery. If you're ordering at Smokin F, don't skip either one. The brisket proves they know low-and-slow barbecue, and the sausage is a standout sidekick that could easily hold its own as the main event. I had the Alabama one (I forgot the full name) and it was melty and hot and yummy. Paired with a side of Mac n cheese - extra good. Blueberry lemonade to drink. All their food is made to order. So they're served hot. They have some comfy seating in the front plus bar stools. More traditional tables and chairs in the back room. I came for a Saturday lunch and it was quiet. Plenty of parking in the area. Next time I'm in Maryville I will stop in for another grilled cheese. It was just so good.

The sandwich was pretty good. I prefer a more classic tale with pork and ham versus deli ham and bacon but it was not bad at all. The shop and eating area is really cute. I like that the sandwiches are prepared when you order so you can customize anything if you want to. The cinnamon roll was hugely disappointing. The bottom portion was totally raw dough but the top that was fully cooked was way too dry. I love grilled cheese sandwiches and I liked that they sold cheese curds so I'd probably give this place another try. Service was also friendly, which is a plus.

The extra 1/2 star is because they have turnip greens and many places don't. That said, it's more the processed greens than the homemade kind that is thicker and more flavorful. The brisket was mostly good. A little dry and too much fat though. I prefer juicer, lean cuts. This had some nice meaty pieces. But, just didn't completely hit the mark on taste.
