My family and I found this charming spot via Yelp on our way home to GA from Pigeon Forge. We enjoyed lunch and the view from their back porch which overlooks a garden and their resident goats, chickens and geese. The food was delicious and we were pleased not to have to settle for another fast food meal! The cafe also offers breakfast, fresh meats, teas, coffees, breads, and sweets. If you are local or just passing through, I highly recommend a visit to Bluestem Hollow!

What a find! Bluestem Hollow combines a cozy coffee shop, a farm-fresh breakfast kitchen, a charming general store, and nature trails all in one spot. The coffee is outstanding and the breakfast hits the mark every time, fresh, satisfying, and clearly made with care. Sitting out on the deck with fresh flowers on every table is peaceful and grounding. It's the kind of place where time slows down in the best way. Their farm store is full of quality local items, especially their Grassland Beef, which is a must-buy. Every staff member we met was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make time to stop here. You'll be glad you did.

I feel like I found a secret place in the Smokies. I came for a special event in the fading dusk of the day. It was a chilly, but not a cold day. I was excited to try the handcrafted farm raised buffet with live music on the wrap around porch of the farm house. As I approached the quaint rustic home the road leading to the front door was lit up with soft glowing ground lights leading you down a path to to my newest culinary adventure. The crunching of the white stone walk way only added atmosphere to the popping of wood logs on the open fire in front of the store. People nodded and smiled as I walked up the stairs. I opened the wreath covered door only to be met by the smell of Christmas spices warming in a crockpot. The ticket for the event was very reasonable for the food that was spread over the old oak farmer table in the center of the room. The menu included a juicey dry rubbed boneless pork loin warming in a chafer. Next to the loin was a hand carved wooden bowl filled with an incredible deviled egg potato salad. The crispest hand cut garden potatoes chips electrified the freshest garden salad with homemade creamy ranch dressing . I couldn't stop from devouring the cheesy drop biscuits in a balsa wooden box. I took my plate out to the porch to enjoy the beautiful melodies of the band called Wilder Things Than Us. Their musicality with their string instruments were magical. After a short break I went back to try the Smokey brisket brussels sprout wraps. The flamed scorched wraps made the brisket combination complete. I grabbed some more of those perfectly seasoned chips and a complimentary water and headed back out. I finished the meal with a fudge brownie and a big mug of custom grounded coffee helped keep me warm as the temperature was dropping fast. Sipping my rich warm beverage I leaned over the balcony and breathed in the wonderful smell of fresh cut pine from their Christmas trees lot. I looked past the trees to remember my walk through the incredible vibrant vegetable garden that supplies the farm store business. What really makes this place so epic is that not only do they raise their own live stock that they sell, but they also have a USDA processing center on site. The in-house Chef is Robert Allen who has a vision and a skill set that shouts you haven't seen anything yet, with a huge kitchen to back it up. Do yourself a favor and sign up for the emails. They not only inform you of great events they sponsor but they like to surprise you with BOGOS and super special cuts of meat. If you like bakery treats this place wont disappoint.

As I drove up for the first time, it was a little unnerving to know I was trusting this place with an animal I was going to eat. Then after going inside and seeing the operation and care the staff take to keep things clean, I was satisfied. - It's a Butcher Shop people, there is going to be a little blood people and a bit more when they are working! As for quality, I was told my Elk and Deer would be ready in 5 days! Perfect timing. They had it done on the 4th day called me and let me know I could pick it up on the 5th day as promised! Amazing.

Duncan's Processing sits at the end of a winding backroad, looking like it was built by someone who once saw a butcher shop in a dream and decided to wing it. The sign out front is fighting for its life, and the building itself gives off "open for business... maybe?" energy. You know that feeling when your GPS says "you've arrived" but your gut says "absolutely not"? That's Duncan's. The vibe is part farm shed, part post-apocalyptic snack stand, and zero percent reassuring. I tried looking up inspection info online -- nothing. Not a trace. Which is kind of impressive, in a cryptid sort of way. So here's the deal: if you're craving adventure, mystery, and possibly a tetanus booster, by all means swing by. But if you're craving actual meat with traceable origins, keep driving until you see something with fluorescent lighting and a health permit on the wall. I came for quality beef and left with a story that starts, "You're not gonna believe this..." Five stars for atmosphere, minus four for existential dread.
