First the good: the work done on my truck looks good and was completed in a timely manner…read more The not so good: When I went in to schedule the work done on my vehicle I asked up front if the cost reflected in my estimate is what I would need to write the check for. I was told, "Yes, unless we get in there and find more damage than we initially saw." But then I was asked if they could take a copy of the insurance estimate, which I allowed. The insurance had issued more money than Details Plus estimate had shown. In fact I had 3 estimates and all 3 were within $100 of each other. When I went to arrange pickup of my vehicle and confirm price/cost, the folks at DPCC insisted that I owed them the entirety of the insurance estimated cost despite the fact that no further damage had been encountered. They wanted me to just sign the check over to them which was impossible because I had already deposited it into my account. (To be honest, I was excited to have an unexpected $400 to put into our propane tank for a quickly approaching winter.) DPCC said they accidentally left off the cost of painting the bumper, which in their estimate was MORE than the insurance had given us. So apparently DPCC are incompetent at providing accurate estimates with a $500 difference in what their original estimate was and what they ended up charging me. If it had come out of my pocket, it would have really put me in a financial bind. I hesitate to believe that their estimate was that far off the mark, however, considering the fact that I had 1 slightly higher estimate and 1 slightly lower estimate from other body shops. (Less than $50 both directions) I recognize that I should have never let them see the insurance check/estimate. My bad. That won't happen again. But I did and now I know to take any future business elsewhere and I will direct all my friends and family away from this company. Do not recommend.

One Collision Center, the Dealer where it was purchased was going to replace a panel that was going to cost almost $ 1000. Troy was able to heat and straighten it perfectly and so carefully that it didn't need to be repainted. They do great work and are very nice people. I would recommend them to anyone!!!!!

They said "There was enough tread on tires that I only needed to replace the one tire". He checked and said he would have tire available after noon and He did. The last claim required an adjuster to come out and evaluate my vehicle, and he had nothing but good things to say about Chad and Action Auto Body. When you have a claims adjuster saying good things about you, you know you have a good reputation. I also needed a windshield placed and Chad stayed after hours to get it done so I had a vehicle to drive the next day. Overall super pleased with Action Auto Body - I picked it out a few years ago on a whim because it was close to my apartment at the time, but so glad I have a place to take my car for work when I need it. Scheduled an appointment for an inspection for a roaring sound coming from the car. The person who…read morehelped me upon entering (was welcoming) did not disclose any cost for the service. They quoted me just under $3,000 to change the gaskets, replace the catalytic convertor, and a myriad of other parts and services related to replacing the exhaust system. They also recommended I change the spark plugs. I had new spark plugs installed less than 100 miles earlier. When I asked them about this, they said it was only a "mileage based recommendation". Why should I trust any of their other diagnoses if they wanted $205 to replace spark plugs I just had installed? When I declined the service, the guy assisting me at the counter requested $49 "to throw at the technician". Not wanting an argument at the counter, I paid and figured I'd dispute the charges later. They put on a good front with the bottled water, shuttle service, and Biblical references on their website. They seem to have forgotten Matthew 22:39; the first verse they quote..."Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" I was able to go to a local shop and they welded/fixed the flex pipe for $120 without any of the BS.

I received my inspection report within a few hours, and I am so so happy I did this! This was the most in depth, thorough prepurchase inspection I have ever gotten. My suspicions were right on with the vehicle. At 120,000 miles, I saw that the Carfax didn't mention any maintenance or service past the 100,000 mile mark, BIG red flag! At that mileage there's much that needs to be done...timing belt, all fluids flushed, possible water pump, gaskets, shocks/struts, etc. None of that had been done to this car, resulting in needing a timing belt replacement (I thought I heard the faint sound of it being worn out when I test drove it), shocks/struts, gasket leaks, and a new alternator, to the tune of around $7,000. Oh, and the kicker was they found that there were several diagnostic codes that were recently cleared. Hmmm, wonder who cleared those? Needless to say, I did not purchase this vehicle. I did inform the dealership that was selling it of the issues, and as you can imagine, they didn't care and said that Christian Bros was making stuff up so they could sell me more services. Um, you're also trying to sell me something and it smells like lemons! Christian Bros has never let me down, and I've never done business with you. BTW- we live in Ankeny and Christian Bros has been our go to for honest, reliable car repairs. I will continue looking and will always bring my cars to them, they are the best! Best $200 I have ever spent.
