I recently ordered glass from this shop for a curio cabinet, gave the measurements and prepaid the order over the phone. After receiving the order and attempting to install the shelves, I found that the glass was cut 1/4" too big on one side. I contacted the shop immediately and talked to a gentleman that confirmed they made a mistake in the cut and said bring the glass back and the issue would be corrected. When I arrived, I was met by another person that turns out to be the owner (John), that became immediately confrontational when I explained that the measurements given were 11-1/4" x 20-3/4", (the receipt had printed on it 11-1/2" x 20-3/4"). When I showed him the notes on my phone with the measurements given, he went on to say I was lying about the correct measurements being given. Short afterwards, the initial person that I talked to on the phone came back into the office and stated that the measurements he was given were 11-1/4" x 20-3/4". The owner (John) still continued on being belligerent and unprofessional, claiming he was not going to fix the issue and yelled out for me to leave his shop without a refund or he was going to call the police. His tune changed when I told him to call them, but I'm was not leaving without a refund. When my wife called to give the card number to have her credit card refunded, he told her in an unprofessional tone that he felt sorry for her. There are other glass shops in the Waldorf/LaPlata area that I would recommend. I have to give one star only because no stars is not an option. read more

I made a complaint with the BBB - they are extremely slow in responding. I have not received the money back for a coating that was not put on my shower door (owner said the "check was in the mail" over a year ago. My tile is still cracked with no resolution in sight. I've had a curio cabinet that was made while living overseas in my house with a crack piece of glass since my kids were little. Now that the kids are in college, it's time to fix this without worry of them breaking it again. I brought the broken glass to Gragans on a Wednesday afternoon and the price quoted was so reasonable, I should have done this years ago! They quoted me a 3 day turn around which was much fast than I thought. To my surprise, they called the next day to tell me with was ready! Went there early one morning after making appt. Was originally quoted $40-50 and about 45 min. I figure being there early in the morning it wouldn't take long. It ended taking just over an hour and cost $50. The crack in the windshield seemed only partially repaired, but I'm not sure if a crack can be filled in completely or not either. The staff was friendly and courteous. NOTE: Do not trust GPS to find it, but it will get you in the general area. read more

I took my car in today to have the windshield replaced. After picking it up and taking my kid to the store, I get home to see a glop of someone's blood is half dry on the front passenger seat. I get gloves and a bleach solution and clean it off, then call the store to tell them about it, to convey how upset I am and to tell them that if the bleach solution stains my upholstery (which I assume it will once dry) that I'll be buying seat covers and bringing my receipt in to them for reimbursement. I can only assume that if they were so sloppy to as not see a glop of blood, maybe its on other surfaces in the car too. The guy on the phone says that if I had just brought it back in they would have cleaned it for me with water, and if that didn't get it off they sometimes use a Lysol wipe. I say "yes, but that doesn't get rid of blood borne pathogens" which is why I used bleach solution, per CDC website, in case whoever's blood that is has Hepatitis which lives in dried blood on surfaces for a week. He says "I don't know that any of my guys has Hepatitis", to which I reply, "Me neither, that's why I used bleach!" and while we're at it, I'm now glad that I didn't bring it in for you to clean if all you were going to do was use cold water and *maybe* a Lysol wipe! He persists in saying repeatedly "young lady..." which I find patronizing, "my boss isn't going to pay a couple hundred dollars for new seat covers when you didn't bring it in right away and can't prove it was our blood". Ridiculous. A new seat cover might run me $50, and I shouldn't have to pay for that. If I had brought it right back and insisted on a professional cleaner, it would have cost a lot more. And it is pretty reasonable to surmise that someone cutting glass in my car this very day would be the source of a brand new blood stain, don't you think? I will go in with receipt to talk to his boss on Monday and will continue to post bad reviews in every venue I find if they do not make this right. read more

This was the third time I've used Gragan & sons. Once for a windshield which they quickly repaired while I waited, and twice for window replacement in my home. They're local family owned, competitive prices, terrific customer service. I've just placed another order with them, and heartily recommend them for any glass need. read more

This place is close to the house. We have had my husbands windshield replaced twice so when I noticed a crack in my windshield, I took it by. Walked in, was ignored by everyone in the office for a while. When I was finally noticed, it was what do you need? I said I had a crack in my windshield, without stepping outside to look, the woman quoted me 300$ for a replacement. Come to find out, the crack could be repaired. Shady to quote an entire windshield when it may not be needed. But you would only know that by looking. I'll be doing business elsewhere. read more

I took a 2012 Ford Focus to them, that both front windows would not roll up and down. They ordered Genuine Ford Parts and replaced both operators and motors assemblies, they finished the car in a few hours. Everything was put back together perfectly. read more

They've replaced a regular window for us, as well as a wood stove window. The service is fantastic. With a winter storm coming and a broken wood stove window, they had the door fixed for us in less than two hours. Highly recommend. read more

I agree with the review below that their customer service is truly terrible. You will come out with a belly full of anger, seriously, because they will not relent until they can put you in your place. I can't speak to their glass repair service as the gatekeeper/secretary -- the rudest lady I've spoken to in quite some time -- made us not to want to seek their repair service any longer. My colleague who called them twice, accidentally called a third time (at *another* number of theirs) after having been referred to them while my colleague was shopping around for quotes, received a shout in the ear "WHY ARE YOU CALLING US A THIRD TIME??" And proceeded to berate. Not kidding. After stressful attempts to speak to her manager we finally got I believe the owner, or at least manager, John... When trying to provide John what I felt critical feedback about her customer service (or lack of) and an opportunity to reel us back, he plainly refused to address her putrid customer service. I tried to reason with him that perhaps it was just miscommunication but no. He instead rallied for her saying that they had already given my colleague the information more than once. In other words, my colleague was asking for it... Birds of a feather... he then goes on and on about what great service they have and how the secretary has to keep her guards up because of the many sales people and "crank calls" she gets a day. He continues to deflect and throw all the faults onto us that we were just mistaken and they are actually great. I realized then that he didn't give a $hit how we were treated. It was clear they treated my colleague with blatant disrespect because English is not her first language. To which John commented: "I don't know if she is Chinese or Korean or something." We have 3 panels of mirror on a wall and one panel started coming detached from the wall and we prop furniture against it to hold it to the wall to keep it from falling and shattering. I visit G&SG's webpage and it states: "'Residential Glass & Mirror Repair, Installation & Replacement Service Areas: Charles County * St Marys County * Prince Georges County." and conveniently there's a contact email address for contacting them immediately, so I sent the email that evening, hoping the mirror won't fall. Their advertised hours are 8-5pm so I wasn't too troubled when there was no response but this morning I called shortly after 8 and when I mentioned my unanswered email the woman very casusally told me "the girl" who normally handles the emails isn't in yet. Okay, fine. No problem. I describe my project and give our location meanwhile she locates my original email and I suspect she's "the girl who normally handles the emails". She tells me she'll call me back. She never does. An hour later I call back and identify myself to her and she require refreshing about why I'm calling. Finally she remembers and tells me they don't serve Temple Hills (Prince George County) and say the ad is misleading and she says it isn't. I ask her what did she think it was. She says it's accurate but they just don't serve Temple Hills. Why not put that in the ad? read more

I had a new floor installed and the installers accidently broke my sliding glass door with a flying nail. Gragan and Sons were called and they sent someone out to replace it in 3 days. The installer replaced the glass and left within 2 hours. All good until we went to clean the glass, and noticed the glass was "wobbly"- not secured within the frame. We called them and 2 repair guys came out in 2 days and said 2 things could be done: 1) find a new rubber gasket (if possible) or squeeze caulking between the gasket and window to secure it. We asked them to find the gasket, we'd gladly pay for it. 2 days later they called and said they couldn't find the gasket anymore. So they offered to send someone else out to caulk it with 1-2 weeks. So, now over 3 weeks later no word or repair guy. It's obvious the initial repair guy stretched the rubber gasket while removing it initially enough that it can't be used again. Terrible company, terrible communication skills from customer service, they just don't care once the job is half done. Run, don't walk, from this company. There are too many others that want your business, not these guys! read more

We had to go through this company twice for broken windows in our house. The first window we found before we moved into our new house so after settlement our realtor agreed to have it fixed. He picked this company and told us it'd take up to 3 weeks. After 4 weeks of not hearing anything, I contacted our realtor & he contacted them. The window was ready & he said they'd call me to set up a date. Well, no one called, so I called them. When they came to install the window I had them measure another window that we found broken in our house after the whole situation with the realtor. They told me itd take 2 weeks. After 4 weeks of no calls, I called them. It was a Friday & the guy I spoke with told me that it says it's been delivered already & he'd look into & call me Monday. I waited another week, no call, no nothing. So that Friday I called again & the girl I spoke with said, "oh it's here we can have it delivered as early as Monday". No apologies, no explanation as to why I was never called. So I cancelled my order. If you can't take care of your costumers the way you should, I don't want to do business with you. It's sad because I heard they used to be very good & now they are going down hill. Very disappointed in my service with them. read more
