I know the mulch needed was about 200 bucks and install I was willing for another 5-6 hundred. Amazing when you deal with people like this that pretend to run businesses. Think about this before you get into anything larger with these people. This was a simple transaction. Maybe they got sick? I'll contact someone in DuPage County. I moved down here 30 years ago and Will County still seems to have just a strange vibe for customer service. Very backward.

The farm stand is in a pair of buildings at this time and they have enough room to expand when more vegetables are harvested. We were not here earlier in the year when the greenhouse does business. There is also a U-Pick section, but we did not try that. We thought it funny when we came to the unshucked corn that there were a few signs warning us to not peel back the husk to look at the corn. We followed the rules and trusted in the product, and we were pleasantly surprised. When we cooked it up later, the corn was perfect and tasty. So even though we did not have the fun of peeling the husks, the corn was VG. We will be back.

Central Sod is a large seller of sod in Illinois ... they have seven company-owned locations in the…read moreChicagoland area, and they also sell their sod at two other places they do not own. So you have 9 places to buy Central Sod grass at and it is worth finding them ... check out their website for directions to the one closest to you. I dropped in at the Frankfort, Illinois store today and was very pleased. This company location is pretty much just a little frame building with a single employee who takes your order, accepts payment and points you in the right direction. This is totally a self-serve kind of place, and that suits most D-I-Y'ers just fine. You enter the building, tell them what you need (remember to order a day ahead if you want a lot), pay for it and then go outside and put it in your vehicle. Easy as pie. Keep in mind that a strip of sod (sold in 2' by 5' rolls) is heavy (maybe 40 pounds each) and messy (plan on getting dirty). Central Sod cuts their material each day so what you get is fresh and healthy ... not like a Home Depot or Lowe's outlet where that really isn't their primary business. You want good sod, go to a sod farm and Central Sod is a good one. The price is right too ... 40 cents a square foot or $4 per roll. I picked up 13 rolls for roughly $50 ... it weighed about 500 pounds too, so bring something to haul it with if you are getting a good amount. This location is easy to get to off US 30. Nice and clean facility, skids of sod located next to the building, attentive and helpful staff. Central Sod is a thing - recommended.

When we went back to get a little more mulch the pile they poured for us was supposedly "1.5 yards" yet it was bigger than the original 3 yard pile!!!! Customer service was absolutely abysmal and the employee named "Larry" even made fun of my truck. He said it was old, slow, ugly, and got terrible gas milage. Do yourself a favor and order from somewhere better. I would recommend any other mulch place as long as it's not mulch masters. They shouldn't even call themselves masters!!!!!
