Juliana, David, and Shaw gave us the absolute BEST customer service!! we ordered over the phone and accidentlynwent to the wrong location (whom treated us with great irritation). we called and apologized because they were closing and had our ice cream order waiting. However, they graciously offered to stay open until we got there. they each greeted us with smiles and kindness. Graeters Ice cream is a National brand that has been successful for quite awhile. This particular location is located in the fern creek portion of Louisville right on bardstown road closer to the gene Snyder entrance of the large and busy road. This location is only a few minutes from my home and for some reason I always forget it exists. I've lived in my house for about 4 years now and I've never visited this particular location until last night. It was about 10pm and my oldest had two friends over for a sleepover and I had my youngest two with me (number 2 was at her own sleepover) and we just got done smashing bearnos pizza and were watching the movie lost boys and someone said "Ice cream sounds good right now"....it was me. I said it......so I looked up places still open near by and seen graeters was open to 11 pm. So we paused the movie and made a beeline to the car (well as much as beeline can be when dealing with 5 kids). Upon arriving they had a very open and spacious lobby with a bit off everything. Pre made ice cream cakes, pints of ice cream, merchandise, a clearance section (lol) and the large ice cream menu. So we all placed our orders. I personally tried a shamrock sundae which is a mint chocolate sundae. It was pretty tasty. My oldest and her bestie got a coffee ice cream and they liked it a lot. Two other kids including my second youngest got cookies and cream and came away impressed. The wife and one year old shared a butter pecan ice cream. Overall was a quick, fun and tasty experience and we had very good service here. Pricing wasn't too bad either. We all ate our ice cream and headed back to finish "lost boys" and then watched the movie "big" with our stomachs full of pizza and ice cream. So a pretty successful slumber party. A lot of the time it's easy to forget the National chains and try all the new ice cream places or the local spring/summer stands. I'll have to remember graeters in as an option in the future especially for late night runs or ice cream breaks during colder weather seasons. Also I'll have to check out there ice cream cakes for the next birthday party. We always went to Dairy Queen who does not seem to have as large as a selection as this graeters had. read more

Last night we visited The Fern Creek Bardstown rd Shop where Service, free tastes helped decide on a scoop was Strawberry dark chocolate and a toffee chocolate chip. My 4 stars could be a 5, but some love is needed to the dining area. It is common to see dirty tables and floors from melted ice cream. Recently the walls seem to look terrible. They have several flavors that they categorize as Classics, Sorbets, Featured, and Signature Chip. Additionally they have seasonal flavors (peach!!!). There are specialty sundaes, classic sundaes, and frozen drinks available too. Your holder options are cup/bowl, sugar cone, chocolate dipped with sprinkles sugar cone, waffle cone, chocolate dipped waffle cone, and chocolate dipped with sprinkles waffle cone. Get those in child, single, double, or triple scoops. Oh, a single scoop is huge! They offer ice cream in pints and pies for carry out. Delicious! I can not even give an honest review here! We have gone so many times . I eat the same thing every-time! The name has changed a few times ‍ but it's always there. If you are lucky there are a few flavors they carry at the grocery now for those midnight munchies! However my wife is the exact opposite and she loves ice cream is love Suites close all that kind of stuff. So tonight she made me go over this graders place in Fern Creek. And I must say that I really liked it. I got a chocolate raspberry waffle cone solid give it 4 stars. Nice little place is so crowded people out the ying-yang everywhere. This place was packed when we went to pick up some ice cream before our movie. They were still monitoring the number of people inside, due to covid, which made me feel safe. They have a good sized selection and seasonal flavors, which always indicates a quality ice cream shop. I sick with the Vienna Coffee, and made it a sundae. SO GOOD. The ice cream is delicious, the staff are friendly and were very accommodating (we came by for a birthday and had six indecisive kids with us. Everyone was friendly and patient.) However! There is no changing table in the bathroom. We had a pretty urgent diaper issue and couldn't wait until we got home. I had to crouch on the floor and change my toddler. The floor was a little wet and visibly dirty in spots (from people's shoes.) I also have some physical challenges so getting down on the floor and getting back up was really hard for me. It's 2020. There shouldn't be any public restaurants or facilities- especially ones that advertise toward families- that don't have changing tables. There's just no excuse. On the topic of the bathrooms, they're also both labeled as accessible. I would like to note that I am 5'9", was wearing low heeled boots, and the paper towel dispenser was up higher than my eye level. It would be extremely difficult for a person in a wheelchair or with limited mobility in their arms to reach high enough to trigger the motion sensor in the dispenser. There is no air dryer. I think it probably borders on not being ADA compliant. I don't really feel like I'm a bathroom ranter but both of these issues were extremely surprising to me. You just don't run into quite that level of inconsideration for two very large demographics (parents of kids under two, and people with disabilities) these days. It was weird. read more

This place is near my home, is clean, has friendly staff, and has a big enough menu to satisfy your every mood. I.e. Ice Cream, Shakes, Sundaes etc. My daughter loves going here because every time she gets her favorite Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, they make a face in the ice cream. The only reason why I'm giving a 1 star is because of the service that we received when we went to get some ice cream. Besides the only person working (who was rude by the way) and I take it someone visiting her we were the only people that walked in. I wanted my 9 yr old son to experience what I was able to growing up where you able to test a flavor of an ice cream and getting a scoop instead of stopping at DQ, McDonalds, Wendy's etc. or where you get ice cream at home. Who doesn't love ice cream? This Graeter's location is close to home and they have a variety of delicious cold treats to choose from. You can get scoops of ice cream in cups or cones (dipped, dipped with sprinkles, etc). You can get smoothies, sundaes, shakes, gelato (very limited selection of flavors), chillers (coffee drinks made with ice cream), candy, as well as pre packaged pints of some of their best selling ice creams. The employees are friendly enough but interaction with them is minimal. You're pretty much in and out within a few minutes unless you decide to stick around and eat your ice cream at one of the tables. They sometimes have seasonal flavors, which is pretty awesome. Give them a try because they won't be around long! Overall, I would recommend this location. The thing I love to get the most when I come to Graeter's is the Mocha Joe Chiller (espresso flavored blended drink made with ice cream and whole milk-has chocolate chips in it!). Give it a try! We came on Sunday evening over Memorial Day weekend and it had been in the mid to upper 80s all day so I imagine they had been busy. Really poor costumer service. Just letting you know that they close at 10pm on Monday night. Even though it says 11pm. Me and my boyfriend walked in 10:03pm didn't see the sign on the door. Because on google it says they close at 11pm. So there was a costumer still checking out. We just wanted simple 2 small ice cream cups. While the guy is making it, the cashier girl looks and yells at us: "Are yall paying with cash or card" we were so confused and said cash. And she just slammed the cash register and looks away. I said to my boyfriend, "lets go I don't want it anymore." I felt really uncomfortable and disrespected and it ruined my appetite we only stayed cuz my boyfriend wanted one so bad. She was staring at us with a dirty look the whole time. She could've said oh we are closed when we walked in. Then it's okay no problem.
