Graeters Ice cream is a National brand that has been successful for quite awhile. This particular location is located in the fern creek portion of Louisville right on bardstown road closer to the gene Snyder entrance of the large and busy road. This location is only a few minutes from my home and for some reason I always forget it exists. I've lived in my house for about 4 years now and I've never visited this particular location until last night. It was about 10pm and my oldest had two friends over for a sleepover and I had my youngest two with me (number 2 was at her own sleepover) and we just got done smashing bearnos pizza and were watching the movie lost boys and someone said "Ice cream sounds good right now"....it was me. I said it......so I looked up places still open near by and seen graeters was open to 11 pm. So we paused the movie and made a beeline to the car (well as much as beeline can be when dealing with 5 kids). Upon arriving they had a very open and spacious lobby with a bit off everything. Pre made ice cream cakes, pints of ice cream, merchandise, a clearance section (lol) and the large ice cream menu. So we all placed our orders. I personally tried a shamrock sundae which is a mint chocolate sundae. It was pretty tasty. My oldest and her bestie got a coffee ice cream and they liked it a lot. Two other kids including my second youngest got cookies and cream and came away impressed. The wife and one year old shared a butter pecan ice cream. Overall was a quick, fun and tasty experience and we had very good service here. Pricing wasn't too bad either. We all ate our ice cream and headed back to finish "lost boys" and then watched the movie "big" with our stomachs full of pizza and ice cream. So a pretty successful slumber party. A lot of the time it's easy to forget the National chains and try all the new ice cream places or the local spring/summer stands. I'll have to remember graeters in as an option in the future especially for late night runs or ice cream breaks during colder weather seasons. Also I'll have to check out there ice cream cakes for the next birthday party. We always went to Dairy Queen who does not seem to have as large as a selection as this graeters had.

We frequent Graeter's Ice Cream after a good meal (or sometimes a bad one) to end on a nice, sweet note. Their ice cream is delicious and hand scooped. I recommend to get the extra scoop on your cone for a little extra $. Sign up for rewards so you get discounts on future trips.

In Louisville there is a limited quality ice cream specialty creameries I consider above par. To be fare I have Graeters in my top three while each one of three is close to equal. Graeters is awesome! Each shoppe I've visited is consistently has high quality options of flavors wether scoops, cones, cakes, pies, frozen yogurt and take home pints. The service is always friendly. I normally choose a single scoop cup while switching up waffle cone. There are dipped cones in dark chocolate and some have sprinkles. There is even waffle bowls. Last night we visited The Fern Creek Bardstown rd Shop where Service, free tastes helped decide on a scoop was Strawberry dark chocolate and a toffee chocolate chip. Plenty of clean single four chair tables. Easy parking and Clean facilities.

This Graeter's location always has the sweetest and friendliest staff. Hard to be beat that and a scoop of their black raspberry chocolate chip ice cream!

Heard a lot about Graeters ice cream so I thought I'd give it a try. The store was clean and orderly while the guy scooping up our ice cream orders was very nice and polite. Everyone enjoyed their ice cream (all 7 of us) and agreed on 5 Stars all the way!!!!!!!! I'm glad we discovered this shop because it's always good to know where a good ice cream place is!!

Tables need some loving in between guests.

We frequent Graeter's far more than my waist line can handle. There fresh made ice cream sets it apart from most others. Very family friendly environment. My 4 stars could be a 5, but some love is needed to the dining area. It is common to see dirty tables and floors from melted ice cream. Recently the walls seem to look terrible. They have several flavors that they categorize as Classics, Sorbets, Featured, and Signature Chip. Additionally they have seasonal flavors (peach!!!). There are specialty sundaes, classic sundaes, and frozen drinks available too. Your holder options are cup/bowl, sugar cone, chocolate dipped with sprinkles sugar cone, waffle cone, chocolate dipped waffle cone, and chocolate dipped with sprinkles waffle cone. Get those in child, single, double, or triple scoops. Oh, a single scoop is huge! They offer ice cream in pints and pies for carry out. Prices range from $3.40 for a kids scoop to $6.99 for a triple.

Here's the deal I never like to go out for ice cream. I just don't eat a lot of sweets and I don't do ice cream and spend money on it. However my wife is the exact opposite and she loves ice cream is love Suites close all that kind of stuff. So tonight she made me go over this graders place in Fern Creek. And I must say that I really liked it. I got a chocolate raspberry waffle cone solid give it 4 stars. Nice little place is so crowded people out the ying-yang everywhere. I'll go back but I don't need ice cream much but I recommend a good place wife got some kind of peach ice cream she really enjoyed it so I'm sure we'll be back she'll probably back more than me but I give it a shot

Graeters is a straightforward local ice cream shop. There's not a lot of frills about this place, but it's clean with friendly employees and delicious flavors. I got bourbon pecan chip and peanut butter chip. I preferred the peanut butter while my boyfriend preferred the bourbon pecan. They have a few seats outside, but most seating is indoors.

This is my favorite ice cream place in Louisville. Love all the 'chip' varieties and seasonal flavors. French pot ice cream is so worth it.

Okay... maybe it was an "oopsie-doodle", it was near my birthday, so all is forgiven. What about the chocolates? I can't deny that the selection is amazing, however, where it comes to quality, I have to admit I was not blown away. That isn't to say I felt they weren't great - they were! At the same time, there are other candy stores with similar products and concepts whose products are no worse. So, what does that leave us with? Schimpff's Confectionery is a very good, old-timey candy store. However, while I can't say their ranking as #1 best candy store in America in 2025 by USA Today is undeserved. However, I personally wouldn't go too far out of my way to get some of their chocolate candies.

The Sweet Spot is less edgy (you won't find any "Fidel Castro's Havana Banana" soda here) but just as delightful for all ages - perhaps most of all for the adults who are fresh off a "Kentucky High-5" from Against the Grain down the street. Whether you're after regular packaged candy or the fancy glass-counter offerings, you'll find that the selection here is well above average.
