The facility is very spacious. There's a main training area and then another smaller room with mats and workout equipment for other classes or free rolling. The place is also extremely clean and the vibe is great. If you've been to a martial arts academy with a bad vibe you will know what I mean, but this place is nothing but positive. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and got us situated with a 10 day trial and my friends with rental gi's. We were then greeted by the head coach John Ingallina who is the embodiment of a professional. He is extremely welcoming, kind, professional, and explained the whole Gracie Combatives system to us. During class he was great at explaining the techniques being taught, and made good work of going to each person and ensuring they did it right. As an out of towner I was completely welcomed by the staff and other class members. I 100% would recommend this, and have done so to my 2 friends who I am very close to.

After speaking with the coaches and hanging with the guys(rolling) I immediately knew this was a great fit for me. Very knowledgeable coaching and the family vibe I received was more than enough to make me feel comfortable, especially with a close combat sport as this. Not only did they welcome our birthday they went above and beyond. I would like to review the birthday and membership separately Birthday - First they offered to dress one of the employees as a power ranger for us, which was great. They advertised a large pizza but actually ordered a Sheet, the set up was great and everything was planned out perfectly and the kids did not become disorderly because they were constantly being engaged with 1 of the 3 Sensei's on hand. I highly recommend anyone looking to do a Karate Birthday to pick Samurai Martial Arts. Membership - From the birthday we got a special Boards and Belts class, At the class my daughter was able to demo a full blown session and break a board with the other white belts, shes a quick learner and loved it. We signed her up for a 1 month promotion which was fairly priced, included the Gi, instruction handbook and unlimited classes for the first month. My daughter took that month and ran with it, we are now in our second month and since she used almost every available while class has already gotten her 3rd yellow stripe. We loved it so much that we signed her up to the 3 year Masters Club, which is a lot like the original promotion but it gave her an extra uniform, patches and unlimited classes. Shes only 6 years old but has shown such initiative and likes to attend all 4 classes each week instead of the recommended 3. Traveling several states away from our home gym, we were hoping for a good place to train. Instead, we found a community. From my very first message, Ben was responsive, professional, thoughtful, and genuinely excited to welcome us. He answered every question while we were traveling, and made the entire experience effortless. Walking in, any nerves about being "the drop-ins" disappeared instantly. We were greeted with smiles, introduced around, and treated like we'd been training there all along. Every person we met embodied the kind of culture that makes people fall in love with jiu-jitsu in the first place: humble, encouraging, respectful, and genuinely kind. The instruction was outstanding, the facility was immaculate, and the schedule offered plenty of opportunities to train. But those things, as great as they are, aren't what made this place unforgettable. People did. Thank you to everyone at 10th Planet Bath for opening your doors and making two travelers feel like they had another home gym. We will definitely be back!

Everything from the facility to the owner, teachers, staff, and other students is excellent! One of the first things one of the senseis asked my wife and I was: What things do your children need work on in their daily lives? Was it focus, fear, respect, athleticism, etc.. These things and more are taught to all the students (Along with Karate) when attending lessons at Faust. Side Note: I like how the Senseis rotate in and out when teaching the students. Hopefully, when we can afford it, my wife will also start training there.

At Tai Kai you leave with so much more. Not only do you get top level training from the original BJJ school in CNY who has the most black belts around, but you also gain a new family, community, a home away from home where everybody knows your name (like Cheers, but without the alcohol). I couldn't be more sincere when I say you earn a new family. And this was evident when my 5 year old son (who also trained at Tai Kai) was diagnosed with brain cancer. Ken, the owner and my friend the past 10 years, put together a fund raiser at the gym to help raise money for my son and the upcoming medical costs. The turnout was huge and was more than I would've ever expected. Ken and everyone else at the gym checks on My son all the time, asking how he's doing and I wish I can bring him into the gym so he could get to see everyone who cares about him. Others had dropped of food for us, donated toys, clothes...etc to help relieve our burden. The 10 years I've spent training Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, and mma at Tai Kai; the blood and sweat, the physical rigors and soreness from a great workout....it's all been worth it to be able to be part of a family and community that had my back in the most difficult time of me and my family's life.
