My family has had an amazing experience with Enshin Karate. My two children are in Kindergarten and…read morein First Grade, and both attend the after school program offered. A bus is offered to pick up our children and take them to Enshin, which in itself is relief enough, but the care they get once they're there makes us extremely happy to have Enshin in our lives. Even my kindergartener picked up the routine extremely quickly. The kids get a snack after school, can do homework or play games to decompress. Before it is time for parents to pick up, classes are held. I was happy to find out that children who attend the after-school program have the ability to progress through their belts just as someone who attended an evening class would. The first few weeks were difficult for my daughter, who was just getting used to not taking naps and now additional physical activity was thrown into the mix, but she survived and now acclimated to the change in schedule. My children have also attended one of their camps for days where the school is closed and they couldn't have been happier. They were excited to go, happy to be there when I was dropping them up, and wanted to stay more once I got there. Is there more a parent could ask for? I don't think so. The price is only slightly higher than Fairfax County SACC for two children but when you factor in that this is both childcare and a sports activity, it far surpasses SACC in value. You can sign-up for a yearly or month-to-month contract. The yearly contract gives you the best rates for days where schools are closed. It is also great to know that they pick up the children at the required time for early releases, scheduled or unscheduled caused by weather. I know my children are happy and safe with Enshin, and I'm happy with Enshin.

I informed them in person that my kids won't be taking classes for 3 months, still they charged for 3 months as one time payment and with in 2 months they charged for one more. STOP stealing money.

We found the class size and coach-to-student ratio here allowed the coaches to really watch each student, give corrections, and help them get better at their techniques. You can tell the coaches care about the students.

I was tired of the gym with overly aggressive classmates that would crush my ribs, being confused with a non-systematic approach to working from the fundamental techniques, and a culture that did not feel welcoming. It was hard for me to commute to the previous martial arts gym, so I had been referred from a friend to take a trial the class. Inside I met the head instructor Youness, he's a great guy who's very welcoming and has very strong values for a healthy martial arts community. He guided me towards steps to achieve the goals I wanted to tackle, answered any question without any BS, built an environment where people don't crush your ribs in your first few classes, and worked on the core fundamentals. It's a reasonable price to start since they just opened last year and are basically like private lessons (I'll take full advantage while it's like this). I highly recommend Youness's gym and for it to be a Caio Terra Affiliate because it's a regarded gym that doesn't just promote anyone.

Enrolling my kids in the kid's program at ABJJA Abmar Barbosa Jiu‑Jitsu Academy has been one of the best decisions we've made as a family. From day one, what stood out immediately was the standard of care. Hygiene and cleanliness are clearly non-negotiable here. The mats, the space, the routines, everything reflects deep respect for the kids' health and safety. As a parent, that peace of mind matters more than words can say. This is, without question, the best kids BJJ program in the area. The class flow is incredibly strategic, thoughtfully structured, developmentally appropriate, and somehow still pure fun. My kids are engaged the entire time. They're learning discipline, body awareness, confidence, and resilience while having a blast. What truly sets ABJJA apart is the environment. It is warm, safe, and deeply supportive. The coach-to-student ratio is impressive, and it shows. Every child is seen. Every child is guided. The coaches go above and beyond; not just teaching technique, but encouraging effort, kindness, and growth. The support given to the kids feels personal, not transactional. The community here is something special. It's welcoming, respectful, and values-driven. You can feel that this academy cares about raising strong humans, not just good athletes. And finally, value. The class options, the access, the level of coaching, and the overall experience make this an incredible value for money. You get far more than you pay for. If you're a parent searching for a martial arts program that prioritizes safety, excellence, character, and joy, this is it. We feel incredibly grateful to have found ABJJA. It's not just an academy; it's a place where kids are genuinely nurtured and empowered.
