The school pickup and transportation make everything seamless for parents as well--this is the only way we could make this work as a family. After our daughter's first week, we asked her what she liked most about school, and she immediately said, "taekwondo." She's learned so much in just a month and loves the instructors, describing them as "strict, but so kind" -- and proudly reminding us that "if you want to do well, you need to listen." In a short time, we've watched her grow stronger, more confident, and excited to show off the Korean words she's learning. We highly recommend Mountain Kim! A big shoutout to Master Andy for his genuine care for both kids and thoughtful approach to families.

I have nothing but good things to say. My shy one was brought out of her shell through this class and gained confidence in her athletic ability. All of them went willingly and looked forward to progressing to the next tape/belt - a great motivator! All the instructors are so good at getting to know the kids individually and working with them to help them advance. They split the kids up in groups of 3-4 for forms and technique, which is super helpful. I did tkd growing up and think this would have been great if my dojang had the resources tot each us in small groups. Highly recommend Mt Kim.

He is really a diamond in every sense of the word, and now although he's moved on to football, a lot of the vigor and enthusiasm he brings on the field started here. If you want your kids to be valued, along with finding an affordable place, this is a "win win." Rarely do I give a business or place five stars. Yet World Karate is that good. It starts with honesty, respect, kindness, and understanding we are all wired differently. Mr Jason and staff will have your son or daughter learn martial arts, but they will also find important lifelong lessons here too. My full recommendation, and thank you World Karate! My oldest did the after school program for a year and a half, my youngest has been doing once a week classes for 2 years or so. I recently joined class with my youngest for fun. Mr. Jason runs a great program. He has realistic expectations of the kids, its not one size fits all. He encourages each child to do the best they can do. For some (like my youngest) it may be to just pay attention in class or (for my oldest) to really perfect the skill they are working on. He keeps order in class but keeps it light, fun, and humorous. They are flexible and easy to work with. The black belt students they have assisting in class are great. They were flexible with me starting so i could join my kid in class. They have teacher work day camps, its just fantastic all around.

My son, Ari, started at age five and earned his black belt at 10, thanks to the incredible guidance and support of the instructors--Mr. and Mrs. Dolan, Mr. Dove, Mr. Gayle, and Mr. Ojumu. The instructors are genuinely invested in each child's growth. When my son lost motivation for karate, they encouraged him and helped him push through. Mr. Ojumu even provided one-on-one lessons multiple times a week at no extra cost, purely for his development. This school teaches far more than martial arts. Kids can join the optional Storm program, where they learn leadership, responsibility, and volunteering while helping instructors. It's an amazing way to grow both on and off the mat. The families here are wonderful too. Over the years, we've gotten to know many, and it truly feels like a community where families connect, support each other, and grow together. We are so grateful for this school and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a place that builds strong kids, leaders, and families.

I've hesitated to post this review but I feel I need to. About two years ago, after my son turned…read more4, we decided to try Andrew Gause on some neighborhood recommendations, thinking it would help him with some coordination and balance issues. We were asked to come a half hour early for our free trial class, so we did. When we got there it was quite crowded and busy with all of the evening classes, but I filled out all the paperwork and talked to Andrew. Andrew didn't really meet my son or talk to him - just me. I didn't realize how long we'd be sitting there so I didn't really bring anything for my son to do, and he didn't have a spot to sit since it was so crowded. He was on the floor, bored, wiggly, and excited. I should have brought something for him to do but I didn't realize he was supposed to sit there waiting for a half hour. He was four. As time went on he got pretty wiggly and started complaining that he wanted to go in, but I told him he had to wait. He wasn't behaving badly - just restless because he was sitting there for so long and kept getting bumped into. Again, he was four years old, and excited. Don't tell parents to bring kids in a half hour before class - it's just setting them up for failure. Finally the students for the class started coming in, and I asked Andrew if we were supposed to go in too. He then loudly stated "based on what I've observed, your son is NOWHERE near mature enough for this" and told us that we should just observe the class. My son was devastated after waiting nearly a half hour for this, other parents were staring at us after Andrew loudly chastised us, so we left. My big regret is that this experience kept us away from Taekwondo for two years - I thought the sport just wasn't the right fit for us. I was wrong. The sport is a fine fit. This studio is not. My son is thriving at a different studio now, is focused and works hard, and is building his confidence and coordination. I am sure Andrew Gause is the right fit for many kids, but I would caution families with particularly energetic or young kids about going here. I don't think anyone who understands young children would expect an excited 4 year old to sit on the floor of a crowded, noisy room for a half hour and be perfectly calm.
