I got the cha cha cha sandwich which is $10 and it was a tiny little sandwich you could've easily made at home and they add zero condiments to it so it tasted superrrrr dry. WARNING: I've lived in Manhattan for 60 years and NEVER given a bad review, even when/where warranted. I do so, here, now, as a public service. Earlier today, I purchased boneless chicken breasts to cook for my dog who has cancer, and needs a very bland diet to help tolerate the effects of the chemotherapy. As I was about to boil the chicken, I simultaneously noticed: 1) a distinct sliminess and stink smell coming from the poultry; and 2) a note on the packaging with a sell-by date from over a week ago. I checked the FDA and other health standards, which all indicated that it would not safe to eat the chicken under the circumstances. I discarded the rancid food, and soon after went back to the store to explain and hoped/expected to be able to exchange for something more fresh and edible. Instead, what I got was defensiveness, push-back, citing a sticker that they, the store, had added to the packaging indicating a later use-by date, and a demand that I show them the "merchandise." I brought the entire packaging, but not the foul fowl, which I threw away for fear of bacteria spreading. They balked at refunding or, what I wanted, replacing the item that with something that was not likely to make my sick dog sicker. The item was just over $6, and for that, the store made a stink of its own. Be aware and beware, neighbors. A cautionary tale to share that I will otherwise let speak for itself. Thank you. When you work in the area and need a lunch spot.. this is the spot. However, I must warn you, you will spend almost 1k getting that lunch. Ok maybe not that much but closer to $20 and if you do that more than 1x a week you're in trouble. They have a hot and cold buffet, that has Asian inspired food to white rice and platanos. For you sushi folks, that go that too. You can also get a sandwich with all the fixings or make your own salad. There is something for everyone. Gracefully has been a decent spot for simple groceries or a quick lunch ever since I moved to this area. They have a variety of standard grocery items with a few asian products throughout. The deli has your typical assortment of salads, burgers, breakfast, sandwiches, etc and a buffet by weight with cold and hot food is available as well. Good selection of coffee. The sandwiches have interesting names and I usually get the Pope of Graceland which is a mix of turkey and roast beef with cheese and gravy. The buffet is fine and has some asian-inspired food like chicken & broccoli, fried rice, and roasted pork belly. There's also some udon and sushi sold in the back, but I can't say I recommend them. Prices are a bit high across the board though. As convenient as this place is for me, it's a bit of a drain on my wallet read more

I have been a daily customer of Gracefully UWS since it opened, several years ago; spending several thousand dollars a year there. Today, I arrived at the store at 5 PM, and wanted to order a salad from the sandwich counter. I was told that they close the salad offerings at 5 PM, and the employees and the store manager told me that is the cut off time, no exceptions. They all know me very well, and still refused me service. So, they will loose my daily business. My family was in the grocery business for over 100 years, so I know about quality service and customer relations. Looking for a little Upper East Side in your Upper West Side? Gracefully has you covered. Gracefully, is a gourmet market / deli on West End, near all the ABC buildings. Their deli is usually very busy at lunch time as for a city littered with "gourmet delis", there is next to nothing on West End in the area. They serve sandwiches, Panini, chopped salads (doesn't everyone these days?) and a limited number of hot entrees. The staff is friendly and they turn around orders quickly. Unlike many places with the gourmet in their title, they actually have a miniature high-end market, consisting of all kinds of luxurious edibles. I got a grilled chicken Panini with pesto, mozzarella and sliced tomatoes. It was good, but the chicken was very dry. I also picked up a couple of boxes of Kashi granola bars - for $6 a box! Whoa. That is $2 per box more than I usually pay. They may have a great selection of gourmet foods, but the prices are 25-30% higher than other markets for the same items. read more

Very awesome healthy grocery store and breakfast/lunch spot! There is not much that I like in this area (especially for a vegetarian) and this grocery store is incredibly affordable compared to nearby places and has tons of breakfast and lunch options. I recently had their D.Nice sandwich which was so delicious - fresh and really good bread. They also have great coffee. As for the store - they have reasonable pricing on all of their organic and healthy snacks, drinks, etc. 4 stars because - The only thing I would say is it would be great if the cashiers were friendly or smiled genuinely. I feel sad while checking out because they look so miserable. The guy that made my sandwich was so happy and nice. I wonder what's up with the cashiers. I also bought an Aloe health drink only to find out that there was high fructose corn syrup in it. This is a local grocery store in my neighborhood. They have most grocery items as well as a deli and hot bar. Like many other smaller grocers in Manhattan, Gracefully is quite expensive. I usually visit for a sandwich or to grab something from the prepared foods. I stopped in yesterday for a quick lunch, and was able to get a decent sized takeout box of hot bar items for $5.50, which is pretty good. The food is not Whole Foods quality but definitely better than a bodega. There is a small seating area indoors to eat any times you've bought. My recommendation: stop in if you have a need for deli or a hot meal--visit other places for your grocery needs! read more

Gracefully made the best breakfast sandwiches! This became our regular spot every weekend. They have H&H bagels, and their grill guys make a really delicious sandwich. I've had their salads as well and they have a good variety of ingredients that make for a hearty meal. For the most part, all of their ingredients, whether at the grill, salad bar, hot bar, soup station, sushi station, are all fresh. They are a standard bodega but with specialty items as well that you can't find in most standard stores. Some of my favorites are the prepared fruits section, the ramen aisle, and the snacks at the counter. Other perk is that it's open until 11pm, so if you need emergency groceries like milk, eggs, late night snack, it's there. The place is expensive though, so minus 1 star for that! read more

I mostly forgive Gracefully's high prices because of its vast selection of especially high-quality stock. They have a staffed udon bar with soup that beats all the mediocre Japanese delivery options within 10 blocks. The deli staff are more conscientious than any other place I can think of -- sandwich ingredients are spread evenly, generously, smartly. This is a little thing, but I sometimes judge a sandwich by how thoroughly it's cut in half. And these sandwiches are cut cleanly in half. They have all that crunchy stuff you'd expect -- bars and nuts and healthyish snacks that respect whatever fad you're following, but also just really good snacks. Tons of options of fresh coffee and hot tea. Grocery items are really quite expensive and not better than any grocery store, especially with Fairway in spitting distance. tl;dr Gracefully is awesome, and it will make you pay for it. read more

I live equidistant between Gracefully and Western Beef. Gracefully is so much nicer, but Western Beef is so much cheaper. So WB normally wins. However, I recently discovered that Gracefully has cheap food. Not just "not expensive," but CHEAP. Like breakfast for under $4, sandwiches and wraps for about $7, etc. And they're open until 11pm, so when you get a craving later in the day, you can count on Gracefully to be there for you. read more

It's really useful to have Gracefully considering that there's no other good grocery options in the area, but it's crazy over priced and I've had several negative service experiences. I feel like my lunch money was just stolen from me. I went to Gracefully today and picked up what appeared to be a decent salad with crispy croutons and fresh chicken breast. When I opened the salad at my desk, I wondered if I had gone temporarily blind at the market. The croutons were just soggy pieces of bread and the chicken - well I found out where all their dried-out, leftover chicken is chopped, and hidden. This may have been the worst salad I've ever purchased. HOWEVER, I do have good experiences with their sandwiches, and they have a great buy 10 get one sandwich loyalty card, which is pretty sweet when you want to save up for one of their monster sandwiches. In the veritable wasteland of grocery stores that is West End Avenue, it's nice to have this little oasis as an option. Gracefully is a CLEAN store environment, with many selections on products, and is complete with a full grill, salad bar, and sushi station. The prices around the majority of the store are typically high, but the deals at the grill/salad bar are great for what you pay to receive. Trader Joe's on 72nd or Fairway is still the best option in this section of the UWS for shopping for a lot of groceries, but if you are in need of something quick and don't want to combat the environment of the neighboring Western Beef, Gracefully is your place. Gracefully saves me from ordering bad takeout a few times a week. Their prices can be high but if you frequent enough you learn he prepared food is delicious and not outrageously priced. Gracefully is my neighborhood corner grocery. They have a great selection, despite it's small size, of healthy and fresh food options. The place is always VERY clean and the employees are efficient. Their made coffee and fresh pastries aren't the best, so I only grocery shop there. Also, it's a bit pricey. Gracefully the exact opposite of the Western Beef a block away (which I refuse to shop at). It's worth the extra cost to avoid that dump. read more

Seriously, for about $7, you get a large styrofoam cup of tasty broth, deliciously chewy noodles, fresh veggies and tofu. I've had both the vegetable noodles, as described, and the chicken version. While gracefully may appear to be very clean they are selling outdated products and old foods some people have experienced food poisoning numerous times and other people when attempting to return spoiled products h ave been subjected to disrespectful treatment the location is not the reason for the high prices,it's simply greed,the other 2 locations: 400 east 23rd st and 320 1st avenue charge 12.99 per lb for the steam table and serves a higher rate of spoiled food or complained foods ie hair,insects,molds.The practice of not displaying prices for food shady,and taxing people for prepared food might be illegal.its just a matter of time before Gracefully puts themselves out of business,and goes the way of Merci Market,for every neg.
