You probably should beef up your meals when people are stuck in their rooms. That's a photo of lunch that I took the last time she was room bound. Please respond, when I sent the picture before, I didn't warrant a response. Sincerely,

I've spent more than two weeks trying to get a landline set up for my mom at Highgate, and the…read moreexperience has been extremely frustrating. I was told to contact Spectrum, which I did immediately. Spectrum was great -- they located Highgate's bulk account and sent the equipment right away. The problem started when we tried to hook it up. We were told that only Highgate's maintenance team could install it. After multiple attempts, I'm now being told they are actually unable to complete the setup. If I had known that from the start, Spectrum could have sent a technician days ago and my mom wouldn't have gone 10 days without being able to communicate. To make matters worse, trying to reach staff has been difficult. On Saturday after 5pm, the phone rang endlessly with no answer. When I called again on Monday, it rang more than a dozen times before someone finally picked up. At this point, I'm seriously questioning the competence and communication of the staff and leadership. This should have been a straightforward request, but it's turned into a stressful and unnecessary ordeal.

I was on a two week quarantine because my husband was exposed at work. Renee proceeded to tell me I…read moreneeded to come back to work because it sounded like I just did not want to work. I discussed this with my husband before we made the decision that with my heart disease, COPD and diabetes that it was not safe. My doctor also agreed. However I worked there because I wanted to ,not because I needed to. I just needed to get out of the house because I was bored. Renee stated that I was an essential employee. However Renee stated she was not an essential employee and would work from home. Ive never heard of an administrator not being an essential employee. Please understand im not disgruntled, I quit there once before. I however am embarrassed that I worked there and disgusted in the lack of professionalism at that facility. I have alot of experience behind me I have worked in healthcare the last 23 years. I was in Social Services and handled 68 residents at my last facility which I worked at for 7 years. There were several abuse reports reported to Renee and her helper Tiffany. Each time something was reported to them it never went any further. Renee has made statements of knowing people from state and not wanting to report it. Investigations were never completed and workers accused still remain employed. One residents hand was bruised and very swollen it was reported by one staff that another staff member admitted to bending her finger, it was reported to Renee. Instead of a proper investigation where the employee would be suspended until an investigation was held, she remained working on the floor and nothing was ever done state was never notified. . We also had a day care person come in and was attacked by another resident which left her with scratches and bruises on her face and neck and when family picked her up and asked about the scratches Renees assistant denied knowing what happened even though she did know. There was also another resident who is violent with other residents but remains at the facility. Reports were filed and they also were never followed up on. The assistant once told an employee to lock a resident out doors until he calmed down. This was reported to Renee, the assistant still works there. This assisted living facility is not a nursing home they accept people that need way more care than assistance just to keep there beds full. They are not CNAs in the facility and the caregivers are allowed to feed residents whom a few of them have swallow precautions that are ignored. Caregivers are not supposed to feed unless you are a CNA and an ALF is not supposed to accept residents with swallow precautions because they do not know what to look for. I was very disappointed in this place Renee being only and LPN should not be sufficient enough to run a facility. She spends more time out of the building then in the building. She uses the fact that she knows people from state and that she is friends with her boss to intimidate workers. Out of every facility I have ever worked this by far is the worse place. I really feel sorry for the residents because most of them cant remember or talk to report the abuse. There is really not one resident that is not full of bruises, that go unreported not by caregivers but by Renee and her assistant. Please dont put your loved one here. They are very good about lying and selling the place up. However if you want your family happy, safe, and mentally and physically abuse free do not put them in EDGEWOOD BELGRADE MEMORY CARE.

My 91-year-old grandma lives on the assisted living side. I do not recommend Touchmark for people…read morewho need a lot of assistance. Nurses only come into the room to give medicine or to empty the trash. My grandma's toilet was clogged, and she went down to the nurse's desk to tell them, they gave her a plunger and she had to unclog her own toilet. Having to unclog her own toilet at 91 years old is definitely not acceptable. One of the biggest complaints I hear from other residents while I am visiting Touchmark is the food. Serving steak and other hard-to-chew foods multiple times a week isn't ideal for residents who might have difficulty eating such items. It would be better if they could offer a more suitable menu for the residents' needs. The staff for the most part are also very rude, and the residents deserve better.

She was 95 and had a spark of life back they had church a few days a week a library, puzzles, crafts.. she made a gingerbread house during Christmas. On the TVs in their rooms they got to see when mail was delivered and I realized how important it was for her to get mail. They have a beautiful dinning area and people were always out mingling. I'm glad the family took the time to find the right place and didn't just settle. It was actually cheaper than other places in Helena and it didn't smell like urine when you walked in. Our elderly need love not anger and impatience. This place is like an angel yo take them in until they pass over.
