But, alas, I must pass on this establishment for the following reasons: 1-In my over 40 years of collecting, I noticed that successful comic shops on LI have a certain 'jenesequa'....a community-nerd appeal that is hard to define. They are a little dark, in bad areas and rough around the edges (in a good way). They have survived gentrification with just a few scars. They are a place where you can befriend other nerds and talk shop for hours about Mexican foils, Maria Wolf and MCU plot fails. Sayville comics is small, bright and meticulous, like your grandmas high-tea room after she cleaned. If comic book shops are an experience, this store is a brand new bright lime-green neon sign that everyone must stay 15 feet away from. This approach probably works in higher end towns that cater to professional parents buying the latest expensive toy craze on tic tock for their children. I prefer other shops with more room, seasoned staff and less ostentation. Awful parking.
