My daughter and I stopped for dinner upon a recommendation of a friend of a friend. Service was exceptional with Jeff who made many suggestions for us. I ordered the filet which was out of this world and my daughter ordered the shrimp scampi which boasted the "meaty" kind of shrimp drenched in a yummy garlicky sauce. Tried to make a reservation here. Was particularly interested since the reviews are so favorable and their website is so clear about the care taken to protect diners during Covid, including assurances that all staff wear masks. The person who was taking my reservation on the phone told me they were NOT wearing masks and that their website needed to be updated. Sorry I won't be dining here. read more

This is our second visit to Grace. Again, we are very pleased that we chose Grace to celebrate are time in St. Petersburg. Our expectations from last year's wonderful meal were fully met. We enjoy food and we look for restaurants that appreciate and serve interesting and quality dining fare. Grace meets all those expectations and more. For this level of cuisine, St. Pete is lucky to have such a restaurant at such a reasonable cost. Ambience is a major part of the appeal of this restaurant. We enjoy a quiet and subtle atmosphere that the restaurant provides. To be able to converse and fully enjoy the fare that is provided to us creates a unique experience for us. Our experience at Grace was exceptional! The ambiance was colorfully modern and comfortable. The service was prompt and friendly. The food and cocktails were the highlights of our visit! Starting with the refreshing Grace martini to the deliciously unique crispy artichoke appetizer, the creative wedge salad with horseradish dressing, the best fresh grouper I have ever had to the chocolate coffee crème brûlée the chef presents a top tier meal!! Grace is a much needed casual upscale beach restaurant in Passe Grille that is a welcomed departure from the fried food fiasco offered by the other beach restaurants that trade location rather than high quality food. When I write "upscale casual" i mean it is for those diners who want a more refined place to eat besides the divey beach options. A well appointed spot for a date night to start the vacation off right or getting the girls together. The restaurant has nice colbalt blue glassware, playful art with dogs adorn the walls and chic lighting that really sets a fun tone. The bar area is separate from the main dining area and it has a good selection of wine. I didnt notice the beer and cocktails options. We got a group together and we all had different entrees: vegerarian, pescatarian and chicken. Everyone loved their dish. Having a menu to include different eating preferences is always a huge plus to me. I got one of the vegetarian entrees and it was so good! The squash was cooked and seasoned perfectly & the Israeli couscous suited the dish perfectly. I really enjoyed this. The other tablemates who ordered scallops were amazed by the size and quantity of scallops. Usually you only get 4 maybe 5 but here they had 6 scallops. I did not taste them but they did not sear them properly from what i saw. The table also ordered the cheese board and that is where Grace fell short. Cheese and charcuterie boards are offered but there is zero info on what they have. I asked "what type of cheeses- American or European?" The waiter replied "it's chef's choice." I was tempted to say "well take 5 minutes AND FIND OUT what the chef is choosing today!" I was with company and didnt want to make a scene but it is really annoying when they werent busy. Here is the thing: you are getting ripped off if you pay for a cheese or meat board and it's all American. American meats and cheeses are crap. let's be honest. The EU has better and higher standards on this stuff so their stuff is better. dont waste your money. Dined at Grace perhaps four or five days after opening. First impression is that the staff are all fantastic, and plentiful. There were always staff coming and going, and asking if we needed anything. Zero complaints; the service could not possibly have been better. Short version of the review: fantastic staff, fantastic entrees, huge helping of lobster on the lobster bolognese, absolutely accurate temp and perfectly prepared filet, scallops were melt in your mouth. Some of the signature cocktails may be your thing, or maybe not, but they're expensive, so choose wisely. The sides came out a bit cold, probably just something the kitchen will work out on timing with, no pun intended, time. As far as deserts go, the key lime pie is admittedly not home made, but wasn't impressed with the chocolate option so perhaps the key lime is the way to go. Longer version: dined on a rainy Sunday, were greeted at the door by the owners (husband and wife, I think). Entire staff were very friendly and attentive. The establishment is modern / contemporary, lots of white/gray tables and floors, accent walls, blue-lit bar, numerous seating options. Arriving at 4pm right as they opened, it was like a flood gate of staff were released into the dining room; there was never any moment where we couldn't have asked for something that was missing, so incredible service. Had the Pastrami Salmon Taquito and Pan-Roasted Sea Scallops (Dinner Entree) as appetizers. Contrary to the name, the salmon doesn't have pastrami i the mix, but was a great appetizer regardless, and great value for the price. It was a generous portion of smoked salmon on top of the slaw/onion mix, and a crispy tostada, topped with caviar. The scallops were ridiculous; huge, fresh, perfectly prepared. I could have eaten about ten pounds of them. The bed of rice surrounding them, nothing to write home about, but that's not why you order that entree. Entree time; had lobster bolognese and pan-seared cab beef tenderloin (aka filet). OMG the lobster bolognese was incredible. You get a tail (in the shell) on top, and then a mix of pasta and lobster claw in your bowl. For the price, you'd be surprised at how much lobster is in this dish; so good, no complaints. The filet was prepared perfectly, rare, and my wife is picky about the temp. It was an excellent cut and cook. Only minor complaints, no Béarnaise sauce, and the great tasting truffle-oil infused mashed potatoes came out cold; so they were probably plated before the entree was ready. Desert, ordered the home made chocolate souffle versus the admittedly (local) store bought key lime pie. It was a bit runny, more like chocolate pudding, had a strawberry and some blueberries on it. In hindsight I'd have gone with the key lime as I love key lime pie and could care less if they didn't make it in house. Drinks: the signature "Grace" drink is a bit on the fruity / light side, and not very strong. I'd recommend a custom margarita, which was their limeade syrup and milagro tequila; pretty light, tasty, and reasonably strong. Also had a Bacardi & Diet, was kind of weak, so may not be the kind of place to order well drinks. All in all, pretty fantastic experience for a restaurant that is four days old. We are staying in the area celebrating our wedding anniversary and we were looking for something different than a beachy bar and grill; I'm so glad we found Grace! The cocktail list is amazing! All of the drinks are named after local's dogs. I had a the Sophizzie--Prosecco with blackberry liquor and pop rocks to top it off. So fun and delicious! Our dinners were phenomenal. I love that something like this exists on Pass-a-Grille, that's a level up from the surrounding touristy beach fare. That said, it has a real "almost" feel about it. The dishes were creative and tasty, but they fell short in the details. For instance, the scallops were delicious, but the accompanying Brussels sprouts were wonderfully crispy on the outside, but hard and barely cooked in the center. The beet polenta had a great flavor, but was dry--which would have been fine if there was a little more sauce on the plate. Our server was wonderful, but there was some overall confusion at the hostess stand. She asked if we had a reservation, and I said no, I had called but the outgoing message said they only accept reservations for parties of six or more. She acknowledged that was the case and found us a table for three anyways...it was a bit strange. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with this cute little place in the middle of the busy St Pete beach. If you are after classy service, proper crowd and clean table cloths this is a place to come to. Ever so slightly on a higher price range meals were well prepared and executed promptly. My kid had a burger which was executed in a classic style, nothing fancy, I had a Caesar. This review is not about the food or service. It's about a policy that was followed to the T. Before I go on I understand this is a business and they are trying to make money. To on with my issue. After watching the sunset me and my girlfriend wanted to get desserts. So we walked across the street and saw the ice cream place on the corner. We had my girlfriends 7 year old son with us who wanted ice cream. We started to wait on the line for ice cream and I suggested we go to Grace as we wanted a glass of wine and figured they would have ice cream too. So we go that route and go into Grace and said we just want dessert and they said sure. We get seated and we hear all the desserts they have and ordered the flourless chocolate and a glass of wine for both me and my GF. We ask the waitress if they have any ice cream and she said no very nicely. Now my girlfriends sons face dropped. So I asked the waitress if it would be alright to run next door and get a small cup of ice cream for him. She seemed a little nervous but said yes. A minute later she came back and reluctantly said she was told "No outside food allowed". I said "Really it's just a small cup". She said "Sorry" so I said fine we will leave and we all had ice cream next door. I get the policy, you don't want people going to a restaurant with their own food. It wasn't like we were trying to save money or do anything to not maximize the restaurants ability to make money. They only had a handful of deserts to pick from to top it off and none were designed for children. I can take blame for some of this as I get it this place ain't chunky cheese. But really you can't accommodate a family trying to defuse a simple situation with a child? read more

Dinner with a table of seven, my wife has food allergies to wheat, eggs and does not eat meat. She had looked forward to the cauliflower on the menu- the only vegetarian entree suitable for her. She ordered and was later told the chef was not making it tonight. Not that it was out but that the chef wasn't making it. No other suggestions by the waitress. Disappointed she ordered a soup starter and a tomato salad. The tomato salad was 15.00 for three slices of tomato, three leaves of basil and a few soggy pistachios. Nonsense. We have been to Grace at least once every time we have visited Pass A Grille, for at least the last 5 years, and it has never disappointed!! It is one of our favorite restaurants in the PAG/St Pete Beach area!! The ambiance and decor are absolutely charming, the food is always delicious and the service is always friendly, attentive and on point! We will continue our tradition of eating here at least once per visit! I recommend timing your reservation so that when you are done, you can walk outside of the restaurant right to the beach and catch one of the most incredible sunsets you will ever see! read more
