We hired this company for a 2nd story addition and my opinion is they were negligent in their…read morebuilding practices and then became very unprofessional. 2/3rds into tearing our roof off they dishonestly price gouged and charged us an additional $21,000 for something. It's so egregious that we will report it! After the roof was removed they caused the loss of our entire home below the addition by not properly protecting it. After the massive $100,000+ loss they got the new 2nd story up and dried in but continued to ignore our request to repair water leaks getting into the home. We contacted them on at least 6 occasions about the leaks and it was not repaired and is still not repaired. After almost 2 months we still have ongoing leaks. Unfortunately I had to contact the city and have them intervene and force the builder to fix things that they would not even reply to. They also built things in the wrong spot and ignored our selections. They installed the wrong window and tried to leave it that way and then when they finally fixed it they installed the wrong size in the wrong spot. It didn't even match the agreed elevation plan. When it was brought to their attention yet again that they made a mistake we were told they would only correct it if we paid them $2400! Unfortunately I had to go buy the correct window at my expense. I had remove and install it correctly myself. Then they stole my old window and all my left over material I paid for on my house project. They are still currently working on our home but will not be doing any further work for the next phase. If you are considering hiring this company contact me and I'll be happy to share with you in detail what's happened and our experience. My experience is they will sell you on their work and contract and then after they start they will tell you they came across a problem and they will need to write up a change order. They will take liberties by choosing selections you didn't approve. In our case they installed windows and a front door without even asking or disclosing they were doing it. How can you just pick a persons front door without even asking? I had to go buy another door and install it myself at my expense ! They also damaged over $1000 of our personal property that was no where near the work area and refuse to replace it. Buyer beware because for us these change orders are excessive in price compared to the industry standard and they don't seem to care if they damage your personal property! Our feeling and experience is also that they will try very hard to not reply to text or emails and will instead want only verbal communication. Verbal communication is great but even with that they make error after error. My opinion is they only want verbal because if it's in writing they can't get out of it but if it's only verbal there is no record of their conversations with us. After what I saw as an incompetent act by not protecting our home I began to document everything with them and I was asking for official written replies to emails and text. They then called me and asked why I was insisting on having everything in writing and wanting email replies. I told them so it's documented incase they try to do us wrong. After that we would get very little in written responses and have been largely ignored. . I come from a family of builders and have a decent amount of knowledge on how things are supposed to be built. If I didn't have that knowledge my option is we would have an addition that was not well built and would cause us a lot of issues in the future including structural. If you do not have building knowledge my opinion is to stay far away from this company. Even if you do I would not recommend them. Also if you meet them you might get the impression that TJ does actual construction work on the jobs. For our project our experience is the son TJ only does the business end of the company's business. The father Tim is the builder and his son just puts in change orders and draw request. We have not seen TJ one time since the day we signed the contract. It's my understanding that Tim Sr is not a licensed builder!

There were areas where the floor was peeling up, discoloration, dullness, gaps...and the worst, an area in a closet that was stained due to a cat that had an accident. I did not have high hopes that these could be restored. I got in touch with Conti floors, and a few things impressed me right away: 1.) Todd was prompt, courteous, and professional in his communication. I was super impressed by his customer service. I was never made to feel "dumb" when asking many, many questions about the process. He took the time on the phone with me to go over everything and address all concerns. Additionally, once we set a date, he did an excellent job of staying in touch about the upcoming project. He confirmed times/availability on a few different occasions. 2.) Honesty and Trustworthiness: Conti Floors was very upfront about pricing and provided a thorough estimate. I never felt he was being shady or that I was being overcharged. Again, all questions were openly answered about pricing and cost. 3.) Professionalism of the crew: Todd and his crew arrived prompt the day of the job. The crew was professional in appearance (not that I really care what people wear when working/getting dirty, but I was impressed). They were friendly, polite, and got right down to business. After the job was complete/dried/etc., Todd personally reached out to see if we had any areas of concern, etc. We had one very small gap which he fixed, and all was good! His I believe son and daughter came out and did the bathroom and did a really good job. When it came down to the 2 Bedrooms things got a little rocky. After speaking with Joe the job was to do the 2 bedrooms and the adjoining hallway and then quote me on my Living room and Master bedroom upstairs. Well it all turned sour when they left I realized that they missed the inside of the closets in the hallway and the inside of the doors after I had paid them. Called back and explained to Joe the situation and it took 3 1/2 weeks to come back to finish the job. And initially they were supposed to start the living room and Master bedroom. But when they arrived they seemed to just be under the impression that only they needed to do a touch up in one spot when I explained that they were to do the areas that they missed they wanted to charge more. I declined and told them that I would find someone else to finish. The daughter then offered me 200 back for the hallway. I declined and said I just wanted them to complete what I had already paid for and then they agreed. Well since I did like the work they did I left to go to the bank I was going to get funds so I could cover what they felt I owed even though I knew I didn't owe anything extra. But I wanted a uniform look and didnt want to bring in a new crew and possibly have a not uniform look. Well by the time I got back which was like no more than 10 minutes they were gone. My wife called me and tried to get them to stay the refused. They still didn't finish the job properly and I did try to make several attempts to call Joe to see if I could savage the job and/or relationship but he declined to return any of my calls. I was made aware that he had injured himself and was stuck at home. I really wanted to deal with him with the quoting of the jobs because in the end. I dont think his crew was in agreement with the quotes of the jobs that he gave me. So I would just say beware and use caution. The workers came over on time and were very nice, but apparently there was some question about the integrity of the hoop itself. They installed it without asking any questions, and after they left I noticed the hoop could only extend to a max of 6 feet tall, rendering it useless. Why wouldn't you talk to me before you cemented it in? Now I'm out $225 and all they offered to do is cut it down and I got the reply " we did what you asked us to do." * update: the "Fabulous Mr. Fix It" still hasn't removed the hoop as promised.
