Accent Remodeling - New vanities and water closet before pocket door was added New toilet is where the bathtub was before.

Accent Remodeling

Accent recently completed our master bath remodel. It was a total gut with the toilet moved from…read moreone end of the room to the other walk-in shower was added, removing the jacuzzi tub. We are extremely happy with the end product and would go with Accent again. We shopped other larger remodelers but we were never satisfied with their very conventional designs and the others insisted that I didn't have enough space for a water closet and separate vanities. Accent gave me both and the deal was done for me. It ended up taking much longer than we anticipated to complete the work. Almost two months during which we vacated the master bedroom and moved that furniture around so the workers could have easy access to the bathroom, and we didn't want to sleep with the dust in the air. At some point in the process we changed the door for the water closet. The supplier of the door had several delays, so we were not happy about that. But several months later the bathroom is done and we love it. The workmanship is top notch, the tradesmen were great, very friendly and professional and cleaned up behind themselves. Steve & Bill were very easy to work with and the final product looks just like the drawings he did on the computer the first time we met. We would highly recommend Accent, but don't be in a hurry. If you want it to look beautiful it may take some time.

Bill Albert, the owner spent a lot of time with us asking questions, and LISTENING to our desires and dreams. He wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive, but came in within reason on price. His people were always on time, pleasant to work with, and cleaned the whole area every day before leaving. They took four weeks and one day for the whole job. Workers were at the house all but three days, so that tells me Accent is good at scheduling their trades people. Thanks again, we should have done it years sooner!

Matrix Basement Finishing - Bathroom remodeling has never been easier with Matrix Home Solutions

Matrix Basement Finishing

All the people from Matrix were great to work with. They're flexible and eager to satisfy the…read morecustomer in every way they know how. Basements is all they do, and they do a good job. Compared to other contractors that I know, Matrix deserves 5 stars. I gave only 4 because nobody is perfect, but they come pretty close in the world of contracting. 4.5 would be more precise. What got our attention mostly is the material they use. The walls are made with foam insulation sandwiched between two sheets of magnesium board. A basement flood won't destroy your basement, and the material is stronger than regular drywall. The drop ceiling sits straight and the floor looks great too. At first we wanted to know how much just the material would cost us, because we wanted to save money the dyi way. During the estimation process we had them price out the complete contract as well. Then we decided to save ourselves a lot of headaches by letting them do almost the whole job. I like doing the finishing work myself, such as trim and doors. That saved us a few bucks and gives me a few weekend projects.

What a horrible experience I've had with this company so far. I knew they were one of the most…read moreexpensive options, and I was willing to pay a premium for quality service, but instead, I ended up with a higher price and lower‑level service. From the very beginning, things went wrong. They didn't get one of the room sizes correct, it was literally the size of a closet -- and then tried to blame the blueprints, even though their own measurements were wrong. Despite that, they still charged me to fix their mistake. Then, after agreeing to a $107,000 price to finish my basement (yes, they are that expensive), they had the audacity to bill me separately for the permits. Imagine agreeing to a six‑figure renovation and then being told the permits aren't included. They claimed it was "in the fine print," even though the fine print only says the home owner is responsible for the permits, however it doesn't say that the cost is separate from the total. To make matters worse, they still haven't picked up their trash (pictures below have been in my basement for the last month and a half). It's been sitting in my basement and garage, and the project has been at a standstill for four weeks with zero communication or progress. Stay far away from this company. They are extremely overpriced and provide terrible customer service.

Kingdom Construction & Remodel - Kitchen Renovation in New Boston, Michigan.

My husband and I decided to purchased our first home and that purchase was a fixer-upper. The home…read morethat we were interested in had been in a bad fire. The damage was mostly cosmetic, thankfully. We got a great deal, but it needed a lot of work. The entire home would be renovated. We decided to use an FHA 203k Renovation loan. This is a unique federal loan and we needed a bank and contractor with experience in order for the process to be as smooth as possible. Kingdom Construction & Remodel was our choice since they quoted within our budget and were very friendly. They were professional and knowledgeable of our special loan which gave us comfort. Kingdom also has secretaries that handle the communication, (Peggy and Crystal) Brian handles the finance side, and Chad, the project head. The initial start of the process went smoother than we expected. We had all of the paperwork done and renovation started mid Dec. 2016. The job was done by different sub-contractors hired by Kingdom. They only thing we had an issue with was communication. There were times we contacted Kingdom for updates and it would take a week for a response. There were a few times the home sat dormant for weeks and we just wanted explanations. The ordering of materials and product selection process seemed a bit scattered, but we got it done. Overall, we are happy with the work done on the home. The work is so good that the neighbors are asking who did it. There were a few hiccups, which we hear is normal in this type of situation and there were a few repairs in the home that needed to be fine-tuned which they took care of. There were a few things that were missed like our screen for the back door, which we are still awaiting repair. Kingdom is a good company and I hope they learned from working from us, as we gained knowledge of contractor partnership and renovation from them.

They were not very responsive to follow-up contact either. Not professional. If the project was too small, that's fine, but have the courtesy to say so and don't leave a prospective customer hanging. We chose to do business elsewhere.
