I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent plumbing service visit. First, your associate arrived without a camera and only had a snake tool, which proved inadequate to diagnose the root cause of the issue. He later attempted to schedule a follow-up appointment with a crew equipped with a camera, but I had expected that to be included in the original visit. As a result, I declined the additional appointment. Second, during the visit, your associate appeared to be stalling and wasting time. He repeatedly attempted to use the snake in the same clean-out five times. After the third attempt, I asked whether we should try an alternative approach since it clearly wasn't working. He responded that he did not have any other tools available. Finally, the entire visit took approximately 2.5 hours, which felt excessive given that only one tool was used and no progress was made. I even offered to assist by helping move equipment to speed things up. It should not have taken that long to determine that the available equipment was insufficient to resolve the issue. As a result of the service visit: 1. I did not get the pipes unclogged 2. I did not learn about the reason why the pipe had a blockage 3. I had to ask your associate to finish the job because it was obvious he was stalling for time on a Friday afternoon. 4. I had to pay $235 for the visit I would not recommend others to use GPS plumbing for your plumbing issues. read more

Excellent plumbing company with quick scheduling and great rates! I run a property management company and when I need a plumbing repair or water heater replaced, GPS will contact our tenants for an appointment and arrive the same day or next day at the latest. If a job is over a pre-determined spending limit, they will send an estimate promptly. Their rates are very competitive compared to the national plumbing companies that you see advertised. I initially spoke with Bethany on a Saturday morning and she listened to my worries and concerns over the phone and gave me this level of assurance that they were going to be able to help me and that everything was going to be okay when I had a main sewer line break in my kitchen that resulted in having a restoration cleanup company involved, as well as a corroded propane line that was leaking propane and a gas to electric hot water heater conversion installation! I was really angry my spouse had to endure this situation. We live in a house, divided into an upstairs/downstairs apartment configuration. Below is my complaint to the company. Their muted response indicates to me that they do not care...they did whatever they wanted and got their money. People can make up their own minds. Hello, I need clarity regarding your company's expectations of how you train your servicemen to interact with the public while out on calls. On Monday, May 20 my spouse had surgery. On Tuesday, May 21 two personnel, who stated their names were "George" and "George", were sent to 2447 A Street San Diego CA 92102, to replace the water heater in the apartment above us. This was at approximately 9:30 AM. I understand this takes time, however is playing loud music for 6 hours while they work a part of your company's work protocol? George and George were asked by my spouse to turn down their music so he could rest and recover from his surgery. They did not respond to this request, continued to play music for hours while they worked, and appeared to actively create noise intentionally, including yelling over their music and dragging items up and down the stairs instead of just carrying them. When I arrived home from work at 4:00 PM they were just finishing their workday. That was almost 6 hours of restorative rest my spouse desperately needed. When I went out to the vans double parked in the street and asked them to move so I could get the car out, it was clear to me that they were intentionally difficult. This is not okay with me. I have been a public school teacher for 33 years and I am pretty experienced with deliberate, patronizing, obstinate behavior. My immediate reaction was to drive directly to your office and ask, in person, if this was acceptable behavior. My next reaction was to post a negative review online. Instead, I am asking for clarity from your company if the behavior of "George and George" is standard for your company. I understand there are factors which I may not be aware of, however in this situation it is clear to me that they were deliberately disruptive to my spouse at exactly the time my spouse NEEDED restorative rest. Would "George and George" have acted that way if it were a disabled person? Or a pregnant woman with 2 toddlers? Or an elderly war vet? If something occurred of which I am not aware, please inform me. Otherwise I expect some type of explanation. They able to get a technician out a few days after I called. The job was completed and it works but... Be sure to clarify pricing when you call. They quoted me based on "parts and labor" but then billed me for a "set fee". They didn't inform me they had to open up the dry wall and did a poor job putting it back together with just painters tape and not repairing the dry wall at all. Then they forgot to turn my angle stop on after the repair leaving me with no running water and said they would have to charge me to send a technician out to check it out. read more

I had what was originally a leaky faucet turn into a job that cost over $1,000.00 The first person they sent said that one of my water shut off valves was stuck. He recommended that I replace both and replace the faucet instead of just changing the gasket. The plumbing job was was rescheduled for a water shut off for the building. The second person that came out changed my faucet but used a different faucet model that did not match the other in the dual sink vanity. I wanted them matching so knowing it would be difficult to remove the faucet and find the right one, I said go ahead and replace the other one with a new one. That service technician left for a long time, came back and installed yet another mismatch!! When I noticed and let him know he just took his tools and left. I called the company upset and frustrated and told them what the service technician did and that he just left and is leaving the job. They sent out a different technician, the same person that came out the first time and put in a matching faucet. I was glad the job was done but then I get hit with an invoice that is double the price of the original!! That took my whole day for me to wait for the service technician to come back with another mismatch install it, have the second technician come out and replace the mismatch and I get billed DOUBLE!!! This plumbing company replaced a water heater at a neighboring apartment building. After promising the take the water heater box with them, they drove off and left a huge cardboard box in the alley. The polystyrene from the base was broken in several pieces and flying around the neighboring area. Someone else will have to remove it. Most companies in similar business take away the debris created by the work undertaken. I would not hire this company. read more

I called GPS for a simple issue as a test. The plumber I used for years for repairs in my eight apartments has retired and I wanted to establish a new relationship. My needs are simple: when I get a call from a tenant, I call the plumber who schedules a visit with the tenant, fixes the problem and sends me an invoice. I am always available by phone if he needs to contact me. The first opportunity was a small shower valve leak. This is the sort of problem that I often fix myself because it takes a few minutes but I called GPS, asked them to schedule a visit with the tenant and described the problem: A DELTA shower valve that does not completely shut off. A couple of days later I get an email with the following message: "Goodmorning, Technicain Inspected and found small drip. Recommend scheduling a water shut down to change Delta cartridge. Cleared work area. Please advise when we can return and replace. Thank you, " This, of course, was frustrating, since it parroted back what I had described as the problem. I responded immediately: "The water can be shut off at any time, the building has four apartments, two will be at work, one is empty and the other one is where the repair will be made. The repair will take at most 15 minutes. Quite honestly, I am a bit disappointed that it will take two trips to fix a water drip; you have my phone number and I expect the technician would call me if necessary. Please schedule the repair with the tenant. Thank you" The repair was finished the next day; I just got the invoice for $465, which is a complete abuse. The part price was more than twice retail, there was a fuel charge, which is a poor excuse for adding $10 to the bill, and $360 of labor. I will never do business with GPS again and will not recommend them. read more

Posting this review which does not speak to the quality of service for plumbing, but instead to an incident - being nearly run off the road - by one single technician who belongs to their company, parked regularly in my neighborhood of mission hills on Washington street and Ingalls. We left for work at the same time just before 8:20am, heading to the 5 north on-ramp at Washington. I was directly in front of him at the "2 car per green" freeway on-ramp light. He was impatient with how quickly I accelerated, not waiting for me to merge onto the freeway, merging himself before me and not letting me in. As I merged anyway to not get stuck on the 8 - with blinker - he floored this large van forward to scare me, with it lurching forward coming inches from my driver door and running me into the shoulder of the freeway at 65-70 mph. Fortunately when I called that morning to report this to the company, my concern was taken seriously, well received, and this individual was supposed to be written up. I hope this is the case or he reads his review. read more

Fairly difficult process with GPS Plumbing. Initial call, I informed the company the water at the main was off, they acknowledge and were unsure if they could do anything about checking for the leak. They send a plumber to their 95$ consult fee, who never calls to arrange, they validate the water is off and can do nothing until the city turns it on. After a secondary leak detection company is hired to pinpoint the leak, GPS tells me they can fit me into their schedule if I dig the hole and have the pipes exposed, due to their scheduling being very hectic these days. I am appreciative they were able to accommodate me on relatively short notice. The job was expected to be a very quick fix. Plumber arrives to the property and is able to see the pipes and agrees that it will be a very easy fix. The joint from PVC main, to Copper at house had broken. Plumber then takes approximately 3 hours to drive to multiple supply locations that were closed and far over engineer the fix. I'm sure it will hold up, although not sure I was willing to pay for all the extra effort. House is only 5 years old, this was an acute issue and should have been resolved very easily. The plumbing is all corrected and I am told I will get the invoice next week. I call multiple times and continue to get deferred. I stress that the house is in escrow and I need documentation for the repair. After multiple days in a row of calling, I receive the final price for 675$, which at an hourly rate of 95$ was not okay. I combat this with evidence from when the plumber called and sent me pictures. Then the second invoice is still 50$ higher than it should have been. Third try I get the "correct" price. In all, the plumbing correction I am sure was done correctly, however the organization, miscommunication and inability to manage all of the moving pieces has made my experience with GPS far less than desirable. Would I recommend a friend or family member to be put through this same runaround, certainly not. Next time, I will learn how to do the plumbing myself, smash a few fingers, get food poisoning and likely have a more enjoyable experience. read more

This place lies and does not communicate. Summary - Monday - water heater leaking. they say they'll be there between 12-2pm to check it out. at 430 they call and say it needs replacing but it is too late in day so they'll do it first thing Tuesday. No big deal. I tell them please do it early because my wife is entertaining the next night and needs hot water. Tuesday - no call from them on timing. i call in morning and they say btw 12-2. i don't hear from them again so i call at 130pm and they say between 1-3pm...i hear nothing from them and call around 4pm. they say the technician is picking up the water heater from supply store and will be en route. So in summary, they lied and they didn't communicate. I have no idea why anyone would do business with these guys and if asked for a plumber recommendation I will tell people who I wouldn't use. read more

My property management company chooses to use GPS plumbing for our maintenance requests and every single time I've needed a service, they show up either late or at the very last minute of the 2-hour window they provide. The representative I talked to on the phone guaranteed me she would give me the earliest shift so the the technician could show up at 8 am, but of course the technician shows up at 10:05 am.
