An absolute professional. Timely, courteous, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. A true rarity these days.

First of all there was no delayed response you posted the same day that I did. If you didn't think…read morepeople used Yelp, then why did you respond so quickly. Yes That is my name. That is just a bold-faced lie Sir. I talked to Matt all the time and mentioned the issues that I had at the time of installation. Nothing was done. The initial work order had something to the affect of move unit 2 feet to the right to accommodate the 4-inch box filter that I wanted installed because we had pets. I changed the location of where you wanted to put it so as to facilitate the drain from the unit, the running of which looks like crap (see picture) Why would I need a maintenance plan to change filters? The Filter never did fit correctly if you will look at your service records you will see that Daniel came to do a service to our unit and cobbled together something to keep the filter in place which it was not doing. Yes he wanted to open the closed system and remove the coil and take a chance introducing contaminates into it. How often do you open a sealed system just to clean a coil I don't believe I ever did. And He wanted to charge $1400 and take a day or so to do it. Again not true I asked if he could spray some calclean from the top of the coil as I have done for the last twenty years that I have been in the industry and none of the water the he sprinkled on the upper side of the coil even got into it. and the technician gave in and DOCUMENTED, that the cleaning was worthless And yet after saying that what he did was worthless he still charged me $419. I took my Electrical Apprenticeship in 1982 I took my HVAC Mechanic apprenticeship in 1990 and have been working in building maintenance since 1986. I am a professional for the last 40 years and If I did some work that was worthless, I could not in good consciousness charge the customer for that work. Your installation guys ran the thermostat in the open in my closet after they said they would put it inside the wall(the original tstat wire was in the closet and I wanted it in the wall ) I believe I addressed all the points you bought up on this not used forum. Have a great Day John. Thanks for putting my name and Address out here (not very professional)on this not used forum. Where do you live?

My Problem: Last Thursday, I spent $100 to find out my 10…read moreyear old Trane compressor fried. The starting repair costs would be almost $4,000, however my usual HVAC company said the whole thing needed replacing. AWESOME! Just what I wanted to hear when we're expecting a foot of snow. Even better, he said Trane didn't make a model anymore that would fit in the existing closet. Solution: My Dad just had his entire system and duct work replaced about a month ago by Larry & Sons and they did a great job. So he told me to call them and see what a new system would run. Moe, the Sales Rep, came out that afternoon. He said he could fit a new system with the base models and the high efficiency ones. After going through the house, seeing what I had, didn't like currently, and what I wanted to have, we decided on one of the high-efficiency models, and got a final price worked out. Moe said they'd be here at 8:30AM on Wednesday. Problem Solved: Wednesday, right after we got a foot of snow, they showed up at 8:30AM (exactly) and went to work. They even brought in several heaters for me. These guys went above and beyond in every aspect of their work. They managed to do what Trane said wasn't possible. That evening, the foreman came up and told me they would have to come back and finish up the next day. They made sure we had plenty of heaters and cleaned up after themselves. Considering they'd been installing an all new system, in the freezing cold, and trudging through a ton of snow, you couldn't tell they'd been there. The next day they showed up again at 8:30AM promptly to finish. When they finished, they walked me through the house to make sure I was completely satisfied with each segment. They'd taken away all my old stuff. They'd dug my old cement pad out, where the outside fan sat, and built a new beautiful pad with about a foot of edging all the way around, surrounded by thick wood border. Next he showed me where they had installed some of the pipes and wires along the side of the house. It was well placed, and they even put a casing over the whole length that matched my vinyl siding. Then he showed me the closet where the main unit is. I couldn't believe my eyes. They'd removed all of Trane's equipment and connecting ducting. It looked like a laser had just gutted it and everything was new. He showed me how to change the filter, and where there was a light that kills anything that makes it through the filter. He showed me the return vents they enlarged upstairs to move the air better. Then he programmed the new LED thermostat, while showing me what he was doing so I could change it if I ever wanted. He turned the new system on and it was blowing nice and strong air; you could barely feel it before. The outside unit was just humming quietly. The past four days have been an amazing difference. The fan automatically adjusts how much air to push. It's even learning how long it takes for the temperature to change so when it comes to a time it's supposed to change (like being warmer in the morning), it actually starts the change gradually so it uses less power, and less noise. I'm sorry for such a long review, but I've never felt that just "It's great!" gives me any useful information. Larry & Sons did a fabulous job for my family. They put down floor protectors and wore booties over their boots, so when they were done, my house looks the same... plus a lot of well installed equipment.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Cumberland Valley Heating and Air Conditioning has…read morebeen so poor, that I want others to be warned before using this company. Cumberland Valley installed a new heating and air system in my home in 2020. The heating system contains two heat pumps, electric furnace, and propane furnace. The heat pumps and electric furnace work properly, but the propane furnace has not kept my home warm when the temps outside are very cold (real feel in the 20s or lower). I have an eight-month-old daughter, and the downstairs of our home would be in the 50s. I called Cumberland Valley starting on January 10, 2025, explaining to them the above situation- our house heats normally in the lower 30s and above- but when it is very cold the furnace doesn't heat the home. Two technicians came out and completed "advanced diagnostics" and told me all that was wrong was my filters were dirty, and the system was "functioning properly." The filters were only used 55 days. They charged 375.00. We replaced the filters, which were not that dirty, and the heat still did not work properly. My home remained very cold. I called them back out for the same issue on 1/14- still no improvement. The receptionist told me she spoke to the technicians that were previously at my home on 1/10, and they said I was out of propane. I told her no- I have automatic delivery, and I have a propane hot water tank and I have plenty of hot water. She told me this was residual in the tank and that the technician said this is why my furnace won't turn on. I said the delivery already came today and I have propane, and my house is in the 50s and I have an infant- I need my heat fixed. She sent a technician out. This technician told me my lines needed bled because I had been out of propane. I had spoken with the propane delivery technician that morning and asked him if we were out of propane. He said no, and he checked my lines and said I was fine. I told the technician that- he told me that the only thing wrong with the heat was that my line needed bled. Cumberland Valley charged me again for diagnostics and to bleed the line- another $205.00. Obviously, this did nothing, the furnace still did not work and my house remained cold. My step-father had to call the next day to get someone out to try and correct the heat. This technician worked on the motherboard and said it is working now- but if it keeps shutting off then you will need to have the entire unit pulled out and cleaned. After this the temperature went to the 30s and like always- the heat is normal. Then when the temperature got very cold again (single digits) the heat quit working, and my house went down to 51 degrees in the downstairs. I called Cumberland Valley twice and the gentleman answering the phone told me they would be in touch to come out and fix the heat- no one called me while my INFANT was in the cold house. I had to buy electric space heaters to keep her comfortable and safe in this weather. I called a different company, and a new technician came today. He found the issue in 30 minutes- the exhaust pipe from the furnace that Cumberland Valley installed had a dip that accumulated moisture. During very cold times- that moisture will freeze- blocking the exhaust and turning off the furnace. When it is warmer out (low 30s and higher) the heat from the furnace is enough to keep the moisture from freezing and the furnace works. He corrected the dip and put a better slant on the exhaust pipe to prevent this from happening in the future. He FINALLY solved the problem and only charged $100.00. Cumberland Valley has charged me nearly 600.00- has come up with multiple different diagnoses and never solved the issue with the furnace. Their complete lack of care and skill is apparent. I regret using them to install my heating and air system.
