Fast forward 6 months (I never used the fireplace during the 6 months) and I was converting to gas logs. The gas fireplace company said I needed a chimney inspection and cleaning. I told them I had it 6 months ago - but I needed a new one. Fine. I used a different company to inspect the chimney and do some brick work. I saw the photos of the debris on the shelf and inside the chimney!! The other company removed Half of a 5 gallon bucket of debris. And they showed me a nail or screw one damper that was not secured during the first cleaning. So I am very disappointed - did JCS even do anything?
