Mr. Tim came out to do some summer maintenance on my furnace and air conditioner and I just want everyone at Goyette to know that I really missed Mr. AJ, but I absolutely love Mr. Tim. He is so professional and courteous just like Mr. AJ was, but even BETTER. I am not throwing any shade on Mr. AJ because I love them both the same. These comments are all about Goyette! This is the ONLY company that you want to use for any mechanical issues that you may have on (furnace, air conditioners, electrical, plumbing). I am in Oscoda, Mi. and my furnace went out Nov.1st. Ihave had bad experience with Goyette so tried Weinkauf who are new in area and they found a bad control board. After replacing the furnace still did not work and they could not find problem. I then called Goyette. They replaced the small exhaust motor and the gas control valve which was the problem. All these parts were marked up 200 to 300 percent. and total cost was$4170. The cost of a new furnace. A good example of corporate greed. Pass Goyette by if you can. Upon moving to a new home, it took a lot of calls to find reliable services. Plumbing was a particular issue. We had Goyette in to change out the kitchen sink. He complained about his job the whole time and apparently didn't know about using tape to keep from gouging chips out of a countertop. That was Friday, when we called Monday about the damage, he had been fired. Sadly they sent him to our home before doing so. Then they were out 3 or 4 times to tell us they didn't have time for the job we called them for or they couldn't do what we asked (all asks are now done so...). Each time we were charged a service call. The last straw was when we hired Goyette to install a new toilet. They did a good job and one of the workmen told us if we wanted it taller later, just to call and they could come out and build it up. We decided later to do this. The gentleman came out, was surprised when someone had told us they could "build it up". He had looked to find out who the idiot was because that could not be done for our toilet. He came for the service call (rather than calling us to clarify). His stop in to tell us this cost us the large service fee, but he said once we bought the riser he wouldn't charge us the service all, only $50 labor. We thanked him and took Goyette off speed dial. The cost of doing business with them is too high. Nearly $1000 in fees to be told no or cause more damage than the job. Honestly, if Goyette is the only response during an emergency, perhaps having a pool in the basement isn't all bad. read more

My husband and I were never great at getting 3 quotes from companies for anything. But, for once, we decided it's time we start. We needed a new furnace and a/c. I called three companies and not only did Goyette come in with the lowest price, they came in $3,000 and $4,000 lower than the other two companies. AND... their service was fabulous. They did an impressive job installing the new furnace, plus the vent pipes to go outside. They were very courteous and professional. came out for my furnace, checked said it was a switchboard, charged me the whole time he was calling for the part. as he commented he was also calling around for another customer on my dime. took him an hour and a half to go to flint to get the part called said it would be 500 dollars then when he came back informed me he had to charge for his travel time he mentioned about going home. I paid over 1000.00 maybe i should have charged him 100 every time he kept using the bathroom. Also iI dont know if he really changed it or not never seen the old part took everything with him without showing or asking me if i wanted the old part.or to even see it. Wiill never go with this company again. Question did you charge the other customer for travel time or did i pay for it. read more

Stay away from this company! they think that because they are a large company they are above the law, if you hire them and are not happy with the job they did or didn't complete you do Not have to pay them, let them bill you, you can take them to small claims court the filing fee is nominal and they will have to pay it back to you, take my advice and hire a smaller company or a self employed plumber they take pride in what they do! just because they are a large company doesn't give them a license to rip you or anyone off! call them out don't sit back and let them take advantage of you! read more

Friendly service and did a great job servicing our furnace when we woke up to no heat. Unlike the previous reviewers I got a call back same day with appointment time and guy had it fixed in one hour. Was just a bad sensor on the unit but still worker did check everything on our unit and informed me of everything he was doing. Yes they do charge $67 for service call and they do charge an hourly fee on top of that for every hour they are there. But honestly I have never met a heating company that doesn't charge something similar. If you need a local company that know how to diagnose things give Goyette a call. read more

Terrible company. You have to chase them around to get service. They NEVER return emails or phone calls. They're rude.

Called saying they were on their way; I waited an hour and a half without even a call back that they were, in fact, not coming. Cited issues with clarity of payment, despite having them over for plumbing issues in the past month with no issues paying in person. Had a heating issue last year where they came to give an estimate, where we didnt even pay same day. This time, didnt even bother coming for an estimate, and wanted to pay overtime rates despite not calling to inform us they would not be coming. read more

Devin came to give estimate a great job. Matt got us heat after 3 days no heat just did emergency repair and Marc came back to complete a few weeks later. We were all so glad to have heat appreciated their working us in the cold! So glad not a long time without heat. Our furnace works great. The team was professional and did a great job. I was very pleased with Goyette's electrician service. I needed a live wire removed from my grandma's basement, and John was at her house within an hour. His work was fast, and he was very knowledgeable and polite. Their rates were reasonable. I would 100% use Goyette's electrician services again. read more

Goyette installed my furnace and air conditioner unit. Did a great job, they were clean, timely, professional etc etc. It has been over ten years and only called them for a tune up which was reasonably priced. Until today, my heat went out last night. I called this morning and they were here by ten AM. Gone by 11. Fixed my furnace, explained everything to me, showed me the bad part, which was twelve bucks!!! I can only say great things about them. I had previously hired them for a company i worked at. They serviced the store for the 15 years i worked there. All the guys who came out were great and Donna at home office was exceptional. As a family member of a Goyette employee..... i am not feeling like i was taken care of like family. a measly 10% discount ($23) isn't much considering a $69 warranty office call was charged after the discount was given and $94/hr for 2.5 hours .... all just for a recommendation of more combustion air flow needed.I can definitely say, i will not be referring Goyette to any of my family or friends !!! read more

Were great with the initial no heat call on a Saturday and came out that day. We needed a part and they waited until the following Wednesday to call and ask if we would like them to order the part. What???? I said yes and never heard back. Called after 8 days of no heat and was told the part had come in. No one called me and they would not come out that day or the next before 2pm and I still had to wait 2 more days. Never calling again or recommending. read more

Goyette installed new furnace and A/C units in my house last week. They provided the best quote out of the four contractors I contacted, and had the job done in one day, even with the additional tasks of installing a condensate pump, humidifier, high-efficiency air filter, and re-routing my combustion air intake and exhaust. The only reason I didn't rate five stars is because there were a couple of things I needed to fix after they left, like tightening a compression fitting on the humidifier water line to stop a slow leak, and removing a cardboard shipping tab from the condensate pump which prevented it from operating. I would have had a puddle of water on the floor had I not noticed those things. Aside from those minor points, I'm very happy with the work they did. read more

Technician came but did not know the building code to install a gas line under my modular so he called his boss and it took 15 minutes. Then he says he ordered the gas line and it took an hour which he did nothing, then charged me for the time calling and that hour on my bill. Then he installed ugly pipes under the wall heater in my living room rather than under the modular. I had done all the skirting removal so he had nothing to do except install a 20 ft. flex line. It took an hour and 45 minutes but I was charged 3 hours and 25 minutes. I called the office and the receptionists said the service manager would call. ha ha the jokes on me, they did not call. It cost $321.75 for 85 minutes work that's almost 4 dollars a MINUTE...69 dollar service call; parts 146.00 which was reasonable. I even helped the guy do the work, he said he was a journeyman, although he was a nice young guy he did not have much savory for the job. This Company completely sucks!!! We wanted an AC and home generator installed. We went with them because it seems they were a top company in our area, hahaha NOPE!!! We got a price for the AC. And after the fact find out they are way higher in price than others, which may be ok if they did an ok job. They installed it....so many things wrong from the get go. We got a price for it but no detailed sales agreement explaining equipment and prices, No credit app was signed by either party. When we had another company install our generator, they pointed out to us they they would be securing the electric cables to the house as the other company Goyette DID NOT, They were left unsecured. The reason they did not get our business for the generator is their lack or communication. We wanted it done at the begining with our AC. Sales guy said he would get back to us on cost. 2 weeks later still nothing. I called the Company and explained no one has gotten back to us, in particular our sales guy. They said they would call him and email him and I'd get a call....still nothing. I kept calling....they finally said he had some health issues. Ok I can understand that...but they did not offer to send someone else out to help do this or give an estimate, so we were in Limbo. Our AC was installed not level....which we were told by another company who installed our generator...that it would cause premature bearing wear. They eventually came by and leveled it when we were not home at first....saying there was nothing wrong. But we saw that they had the dirt modified to level the machine. I went with Goyette because they were family owned and operated for so long. I wanted to support a local company....But it became apparent and clear they lost connection with their customers because they simply did not care. They made excuses. Only after a month and a half and repeated calls from Us, did they eventually call to get a contract signed. So they could get paid. Then today, months after the install of the AC, we get a call from Goyette, that they wanted to send an inspector by to check out the work they did installing the generator...UHMMM hello, you DID NOT install the generator!! Also when we mentioned to the sales guy, after the fact that we had our AC installed, that his price for the AC was much higher than others, he challenged us to find someone else cheaper. Yes cheaper can be good and bad. I wanted to get quality work and save a few bucks, as this was approx a $14,000 job. Not cheap as in crap work. The first place we called, comparing apples to apples, a well known and respected company that has been in business for quite a while, beat them hands down!! Smashed them and their estimate!! So I saved money and got quality work done by another company with our generator install. I could go on and on....but simply Goyette makes me tired!!!!!!!!!!! If you plan on staying in business another 95 years, you better learn how to communicate with your customers again and stop making excuses at hand. You have a serious disconnect in your company. There is more to a sale than getting your money!! And never once through this whole ordeal, more things not mentioned, did the Owner of Goyette ever call and help with this situation. With our other company we went with for the generator, the Owner personally stopped by and checked on things!!! Made sure we were satisfied and happy with the job...no excuses. Our furnace Blower Motor (installed by a different company) went out on a very cold Sunday morning. While other companies were saying it may be 2 days before they would have the parts or could get out, Goyette was at my home within two hours and completed the job quickly and efficiently. Very knowledgeable technician who pointed out a few other adjustments and got us up and rolling quickly. Fast, Efficient, Friendly and competitively priced. I will refer Goyette to everyone. read more
