We were a hungry group of four girls and at 17ish dollars a head we were well catered for. Starters we went with the lovely owners suggestions and tried three starter between us, one potatoes dish one fried coriander (trust me you just have to try) and one fried sago dish all came with lovely dips and sauces and at $4 or $5 each an impressive serving. Main We shared 2 Thali's which is a kinda set plate with pickles, salad, spiced rice, dal and breads. every was very tasty Desert Even thou we where heading into the too full stage by now the deserts were interesting enough to tempt us, I had the Shrikhand which was sweet and full of flavour and interesting blend of cardamon and sweet sugar. a little defiantly goes a long way... All washed down with Mango Lassi which looked a vibrant colour. I will be back no doubt with more friends to tow to show off this little gem in Sandringham.

We also found a lot of Jain options here. The owner was really sweet and she made sure we got to eat the food we love. I would recommend everyone looking for authentic Mumbai style food with a lot of Jain options to definitely visit this place. Thank you, Saattveek for the delicious food and the great hospitality!

My cousins were rugby players and we were all poor students so we loved it but I've got admit the food wasn't great - super heavy, sugar laden curries. A far cry from what you'll get at Satya. For starters, Satya is a South Indian restaurant so the curries are a lighter style with a thinner sauce, generally made with coconut. But on top of this their curries are made with a certain finesse - no heavy hands here - instead a delicate balance of spices, without all the sugar! Their menu is extensive and for someone like me, who is no expert, it can be intimidating. Luckily, two of our dining companions had travelled extensively throughout India and guided us through the ordering process. We ordered several dishes to share. My favourites were the Dahi Puri entrée - delicious bit sized morsels of potato & chickpea with tangy tamarind chutney and yoghurt on a crispy chickpea cracker - and the eggplant coconut with potato, green peas and ginger. To be honest, I don't think you could go too far wrong no mater what you ordered. Because there is so much to try Satya is best enjoyed with a group, plus it's BYO and they take bookings! It may be more expensive that your typical Indian takeaway but trust me, it's worth it!
