I could not attend, but the Gourmet team had all the options sent home for me to try. We had 160 guests and every plate looked perfect. The staff was so attentive. OUTSTANDING, ABSOLUTELY a 10+++ The menu included hors d'oeurvres (the scallops wrapped in bacon were mouthwatering)! As part of the main course there was beef, chicken, caesar salad, potatoes, anti pasto, all of it was absolutely delicious. Also, the presentation was very nice. The staff was also so professional and pleasant, cleaning right up between courses, discreetly. I contacted the host this morning asking for the contact information to spread around. Delectable. Memorable. Creative. Exciting. Delicious Jeanne Spence and her team at Gourmet Caterers created a memorable and truly special five course meal with wine pairings for our wedding reception. This was NOT your regular old wedding chicken! My husband and I are foodies so naturally we wanted our wedding meal to be unforgettable and special for our guests. He is Italian and I am Puerto Rican and we wanted our cultural traditions to be present in the menu. We worked with Chef Dave to create something really special. The amuse bouche was a fried plantain, the first course was a sunchoke soup that guests are STILL talking about, the second course was a carbonara, the third course was a latin spiced filet, and the dessert course was an italian gelato with espresso beans and salted carmel. YUM! We had french service for the soup and the dessert that delighted our guests. They did an excellent job of assuring that everyone's meat was at a temperature preferred by the guest. They gave our menu to a sommelier to pick out wine pairings for each course that brought out the flavor even more. My belly is happy just thinking about it. Gourmet is not your average caterer.. they go above and beyond to excite the tastebuds and provide you and your guests with a memorable experience. All of the servers went above and beyond-- the steward even helped me hold my dress so it wouldn't get ruined in the rain and held umbrellas for people all while we were taking photos. She was like our maid of honor and best man! We loved working with Jeanne Spence. Her spunk, energy, attention to detail, love of weddings, love of food, honesty, and genuineness made the planning fun! We really appreciate everything that she did for us. She was conscious of our budget and did everything to make our vision happen within that budget, in suggesting linens, size table, and floral decor that would make the space perfect and affordable. She truly cares about us as a couple and as people, and we consider her now a new friend. When all other caterers say no, Gourmet says yes. Gourmet Caterers did our wedding at the amazing Artists for Humanity EpiCenter on February 7, 2015 between Boston blizzards. The catering manager was Jeanne Spence and she did a phenomenal job representing GC from start to finish. Jeanne and GC made me feel very at ease and in good hands throughout the entire process. The tasting and the food execution was delicious and everyone at the wedding reception raved about how much they loved the food and feasted on the stations. We did tapas, pasta and a custom taco bar. The presentation and quality of the food along with the servers and bartenders is top notch and I have nothing other than praise for Jeanne, the chefs and all the service staff who helped create the most memorable day of my life. I also used Jeanne as our day of planner and it is money well spent. She's on the ball with every respect and does her job with expertise and grace. I think I would have been very stressed out if it weren't for her. I would highly recommend Gourmet Caterers for any catering needs and if you get to work with Jeanne then you will have nothing to worry to about. Gourmet Caterers catered our wedding at the EpiCenter and everything was excellent! From the initial phone call with Jeanne Spence to putting the menu together, to the tasting, and the actual event. Jeanne is such a professional and on point that we had complete confidence through the whole planning process. Jeanne truly had our best interest at heart -- making sure we had enough food but not too much that will go to waste; reviewing rental orders to make sure all planning is seamless; walking through space with us to help paint the picture of what our wedding day will look like, and that everything will flow well. She thought of everything and we couldn't have done it without her. Chef worked with us on some cultural items we needed on our menu, and let us try things out at the tasting. Our guests were all SO IMPRESSED with the food- commenting that it is creative, refreshing, and delicious! I need more stars to give!!! This is not a typical caterer for several reasons: 1. No other catering company has Jeanne Spence, and I could have gotten through this wedding more easily missing my fiance, than missing her. 2. The most gorgeous presentation of food you will ever see. Chafing dishes are nowhere in sight. 3. We had a person just assigned to mine and my now husband's family - making sure we had enough food, drinks and no one bothering us for anything!! 4. The staff is dedicated, incredible, and you can tell they actually want to be there. Amazing, really. Best staff ever. 5. If you don't like something; they'll work with you!! Even if you only have a few people with food allergies or different food life choices, they accommodate without having an abundance of leftovers. 6. There will be no leftovers!!!! Not one person came up to me after devouring plateS of food, without mentioning how incredible it was. Not a scrap left!! Hands down, simply the best. Grand slam homerun X2!!!! Tracy Cassidy and Gourmet Caterers are, quite simply, as good as it gets. I presented Tracy with a completely blank slate--an as-yet unfinished 40x80 sq ft space where it was possible we would still have 20' tall scaffoldings crowding the floor, and she never batted an eyelid. Yes, they would have to bring their own oven. Yes, they would have to stagger their service line. Yes, they would have to use a conference room for prep. Heck, I don't know what they did or how they did it. But what I do know is they did it beautifully. From start to finish--planning to execution--rooftop bar to drying my tears--Tracy and her staff were amazing, phenomenal, and, as I said to Tracy more than once, I worship at her shrine. And that was just event #1. Event #2 was equally spectacular. Prepare the same space for a party with 200 students and the odd faculty member, instead of 90 senior administration, faculty, and captains of industry??? Tracy did it seemingly with her hands tied behind her back. She planned, orchestrated, conducted, and executed. I love this woman. Amy, the steward for both evenings, was spectacular as well. I never had to worry. These are the consummate professionals. Introduced once to the bartender, he saw me, remembered my name and presented me with my "regular". I cannot recommend Gourmet Caterers highly enough. They made us all look fabulous. Heck, even when we were questioning her about lighting, Tracy had an answer about number of uplights. And she got it right!!! If you choose another caterer, you are, quite simply, crazy. These are the people you want. If you want a SPECIAL event, call Tracy. Gourmet Caterers catered my wedding at the Artists for humanity epicenter this past fall. I cannot say how wonderful Jeanne was throughout the entire process. From the tasting to the day off, Jeanne was a stand out in the wedding process. Her kindness showed through in the attention and consideration she took while preparing the menu and coordinating the day of. And now for the food! It has been 4 months since my wedding and I STILL have people commenting on the food! The apps included sliders, cocktail shrimp, bacon wrapped scallps, and PIEROGIES (making my polish side so proud/happy). For dinner I had a station menu- pasta (bolognese and chicken and broccoli), a carving station (sirloin with twice baked potatoes), and boston bake (delicious lobster rolls, clam chowder and crab cakes!) and for dessert we had pecan and blueberry pies, french macarons and cheesecake bites. Gourmet gave me the flexibility of customizing the menu to match our personalities. The food and service level you will receive from Gourmet Caterers is TOP NOTCH. Gourmet is really so much more than a catering company, Jeanne and her team were always willing to provide guidance on anything wedding related - from the band we chose to the seating layout to the flow of the overall event. They are experts in their field and know everyone in the Boston wedding circuit. They helped us design a great menu for our wedding, and the food and service was exceptional. We loved the menu tasting at their offices a few months before the wedding, and had so many guests comment on how great the food was at our wedding. They had so many options for our menu, pages and pages of delicious appetizers, entrees, and dessert. We had so much freedom in designing our menu and also great feedback in terms of what would go best together. The food was delicious and beautiful. Our wedding day was perfect due to Gourmet and their talented chefs and staff. Every single guest said it was the best food they'd EVER had. The presentation was stunning, everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff was professional, kind and made each of our guests feel welcome and enjoy themselves. INCREDIBLE!! We used Gourmet as the caterers for our wedding in September and am so so glad we did. Our venue had a list of about 15 caterers that we could choose from and we ended up narrowing it down to Gourmet and another caterer - a more well known name that had been recommended and I had already fallen in love with.. and was 90% sure we would use. But my fiance insisted that we do our due diligence before we chose. So when our parents were in town one weekend, we did tastings with both caterers - and I was pleasantly surprised when all 6 of us unanimously agreed that Gourmet's food was exponentially better (and this was before we told our parents that Gourmet was the cheaper of the two options)! Susan was an absolute pleasure to work with and we had complete trust in her the entire time. She answered all of my emails (and there were a lot) quickly and thoroughly... which I learned is the best thing when it comes to a wedding vendor. And even had us come in for an amazing lunch a month or two before the wedding where we finalized the details and reassessed some of original choices. She customized the menu to our foodie taste that the food felt so personal. On the day, our guests were RAVING about the food! The passed hors d'oeuvres, the stationary cheese station, the plated meal, and late night snacks - everything was delicious! We definitely have high standards when it comes to food - and it was beyond our expectations. Everyone says that the bride and groom don't actually eat at their wedding - but we definitely ate! My steak-loving husband even ordered an extra plate of the vegetarian option ahead of time because he was so excited about it! Seriously, check out this menu... I attended an upscale event that Gourmet was catering. The menu did not have many kid-friendly options as there were very few children in attendance besides my two young sons. The head chef came to our table and talked with my kids, telling them what foods he could make for them and getting a sense of their tastes. The chef promptly returned to our table with "grown up grilled cheeses" (grilled cheese with chicken and bbq sauce) my sons absolutely loved the food and thought it was so cool that the chef made it just for them and hand delivered it. I was so impressed and pleased that my picky eaters didn't have to eat bread rolls all night! The waitstaff was excellent, decor was fabulous and my whole family had an all around awesome time. Next time I am planning a big event or know of anyone who is I will definitely use/recommend Gourmet! read more

I actually Yelped this company to see what people are loving to eat and serve at Gourmet catering events only to be suprised that they haven't been reviewed yet. So Let me be the first to say that Gourmet is fantastic! I have used them for parties large and small, always at my home. We have hosted up to 250 people in a tent in my back yard and as small as 30 ladies for a baby shower and every type of party in between. (Including a Christmakkah party one year. HA!!) They are so great to work with and will craft any menu you choose and they execute it perfectly. The food is delicious, the portions are generous and it is displayed beautifully too. The willing and attentive staff is great to work with from party conception to completion. I do a lot of entertaining as do many of my friends and they all have switched over to using Gourmet. John McGinn (who handles my events) goes above and beyond the call of duty. I can't recommend them more highly. read more
