Really good service and food. Stopped in last week for a bite. Enjoyed it very much and I recommend trying it.

I would give this establishment a 3.5, the reason being as follows:…read moreI've had food from here twice (once dining in, and the other time got a delivery). The beef burger I had was really good, but the buttermilk chipotle chicken burger I had delivered just didn't taste right, not quite sure what it was as the condiments and the bun were good, but the actual chicken itself wasn't great. The burgers are served on wooden boards and are beautifully presented (see photos) They have a variety of french fries with different toppings which were all really good (and the portions were huge), and my friends had some of their milkshakes which they all seemed to enjoy. Service: Great Price: Reasonable Would I go again: Maybe

To be fair, we were expecting to head over to the McDonalds across the road, since we haven't been…read moreto Watford for a while and Meat & Shake must have opened up in the time since we were last around. We were worried it was too busy at first, but it was just people crowded outside and then just inside the door. We got a table straight away without an issue, but it wasn't like the place was empty - it was a happy medium-full for a Saturday afternoon. Having read the reviews, and still fancying a burger, that's what I opted for. I had the smoked burger, which was called "Smokey" something but I forget what. I'm thinking "Smoky Robinson" but it probably wasn't that. Service was a decent pace, and it felt like it took around the right amount of time for the food to arrive. I was delighted - the burger arrived in a glass dome filled with smoke. I'd seen that a fair bit on TV but never in person - it was very impressive! The burger itself was good - each element wasn't oversmoked so that you could taste the smoke yet still taste the actual burger elements individually. There was turkey bacon instead of normal bacon, which I presume because the restaurant is Halal - but you know what, I'd much rather have turkey bacon that some limp undercooked (and not crispy) regular bacon. Nothing worse than biting into a burger and pulling the bacon out along with anything attached to it. Well... genocide is worse. First world problems and all that!! ;) Only I could mention genocide in an attempt to be funny. #notfunnyatall Back on topic - I paid using the zapper app, which was the first time I used it, so I got a £5 discount. It also signed me automatically up for a reward card, which after another 5 visits and payed with the zapper card, you get £10 off the following meal. Not alcohol served here, but I wasn't about to drink booze with lunch - they do a really good imported cherry soda though. A solid four stars.

This place does exactly what it says on the tin... Burgers! And good ones at that!…read more This is a brand new restaurant open this weekend, they have a sister restaurant on Whiteladies road (just a few miles away) which has really taken off, so it seems like the natural thing for them to do. So tonight was really busy, pretty much every table taken, this didn't matter though we were shown straight to our table and given menus. You place your orders on tick box forms, and then give them back to the waiting staff. There's loads to chose from with out being over whelmed. Basically you chose your meat (or veggie burger) there's about 8 options inc lamb, chicken etc. then an extra filling, 2 sauces and a side all for around £8, bargain! Food was delivered to the table within 10 minutes, I would highly recommend the 6oz beef burger, grilled bacon and blue cheese with a side of fries, yummy!!!! My friend had the 6oz beef, Cheddar and onion rings which look equally delicious and somewhat mouth watering! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the service was faultless. I really like the decor, clean, crisp and modern with no gimmicks which is a refreshing change to some other burger places around. They have an out side decked sitting area at the front, which considering this place is on a bustling high street really catches your eye and quiet inviting. Great for couples and small groups, I probably wouldn't want to take a big group of rowdy friends, apart from anything else they probably wouldn't fit many in. I would definitely go back and recommend to others.

The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful to me with my buggy - there are some steep steps to get up to get into the building but someone came and helped me in (not sure how wheelchair users will get in but I'm sure they'll have that covered) I opted for the straightforward beef burger and my friend went for the wild boar burger, I had pulled pork and cheddar cheese as a topping (pulled pork on a burger it would turn out is delicious) I loved the fact that you got free refills on soft drinks, left there buzzing having drunk way too much coke!! I ordered corn On he cob as a side as my baby loves it and also some hash browns. The only thing stopping me from giving this 5 stars was the chips, we went for hand cut chips which were more like wedges than chips and not that nice, next time I will go for fries though and maybe I'll update this with an additional star. I also do fear that on a busy week day lunch time the place may become too rammed up with buggies as north street is parent central, I'm sure the management will be able to come up with an innovative solution though. All in all a very nice meal, we didn't pay but if we had I would have come away feeling that I had got very good value for money.

I came here for dinner with 2 colleagues on a Wednesday evening while working in the area. The…read morerestaurant is in town, around many other restaurants and shops. The place was pretty empty the night we came, and it looked pretty empty the night before as well, when we walked past after dining at another restaurant nearby. However, there is a lot of seating inside the restaurant, including what looked like an upstairs seating area, as well as some tables outside, so it's possible it gets busier on weekends. The menu had a pretty large selection of burgers, chicken dishes, hot dogs, and even steaks and salads. There was also an enticing page of desserts, including milkshakes, cheesecakes, and sundaes. The mains came with a choice of side (salad, fries, mashed potatoes) and dipping sauce (garlic mayo, barbecue sauce, among others). I got the classic burger on a brioche bun with fries and garlic mayo. The burger was topped with the Tinsel Town sauce, which was tasty. However, the brioche bun was too dry/hard for my liking. The fries were fine. One of my coworkers got the cheese dog, which was really massive. It had some tomato slices tucked in. She wound up not being able to finish it; apparently it was a bit stodgy and might have been more manageable if it had been a frankfurter or something. She also got the halloumi appetizer with sweet chili sauce, which she really enjoyed. I got a brownie sundae for dessert. It was topped with a massive amount of whipped cream, but I would have preferred for it to have had a bit more ice cream underneath. The brownie chunks were tasty, though. One of my coworkers got the Kinder Bueno milkshake and said it tasted exactly like a Kinder Bueno. Service was pretty slow, especially given there were so few customers at the time. It took the server awhile to split the check, since she couldn't seem to remember who got what and had to redo the split a few times. It probably would have been easier to just get 1 check and divide it ourselves. The restaurant card reader did not accept my American debit card (which I historically have not had issues using abroad, in places as diverse as Bangkok and Stockholm). Thankfully, there is an ATM nearby and the server was patient and apologetic about me needing to step out to get cash. Overall, a very average dinner, but good if you're craving a milkshake and some fries. My burger and dessert came out to be about £13.
