We visited this GBK for the 4th time on Friday, 16 February 2018. My review is based on our 3rd and 4th visits. Our 3rd visit was a couple of months ago. When we sat down the waitress informed us that they were having some kitchen delays and that it would likely take about 30 minutes to get our food. We were hungry ​but figured that was manageable and really wanted a burger. What we didn't know was that apparently, ​her concept of time was a bit warped. It took WELL over an hour to get our food, and when it finally came out, it was wrong. This wasn't just happening to us, as others were also getting their orders wrong and in our side conversations, ​we discovered that they also had waited well over an hour for their food. In the end we were so hungry that we just ate whatever they brought us. This was not a great experience, but the food was good enough that we were willing to try again. This brings us to our 4th visit. We arrived at the restaurant at 11.30am on a Friday. Only then did we realize that they would not open until noon. No problem, we walked around the mall and came back around 12.30pm. I mention this, as I feel that it is important to note that we were specifically​ intending to visit this establishment and spend money. We didn't just happen to be there. We went in and there was only 1 other occupied table. My wife, children and I chose what we wanted from the menu and I headed up to the till to order. The server was very nice and had a friendly greeting. I showed her the GBK app on my phone and she entered my Customer ID. I then started my order with the special advertised on a poster on the wall (I will post the photo if I can figure out how). The server said that this was only for students. I told her that it didn't say anything about any requirements except that you needed the GBK App (which I had, as I showed it to her upon first approaching the till). She read over the poster and agreed, but said that she would have to ask her manager. When her manager approached, I explained that we wanted to order the special and the manager just bluntly said, "No, you cannot order that. You need to have a student ID." I explained that the advertisement did not specify any specific requirements, but she refused to sell it to us. I tried reasoning with her ​but to no avail. Now, I ask...in what restaurant does a halfway decent manager refuse to sell €40+ worth of food because an 8-year-old doesn't have student ID? She didn't even try to be reasonable. She just refused to honour​ the advertisement. I decided that I could not justify spending a single cent after that, so I took my family next door to Nando's where we spent less money and had a wonderful meal. From past experiences at other GBK's, we really enjoy their food, but I have to warn anyone visiting this location to be prepared to have a less than stellar experience until they can get some halfway decent management. read more

Okay, so most of the time I stay away from meat. Well, I try to. I had such a bad craving for a burger for the passed few days and all I could think of was the "chilli" burger from GBK. I coaxed a friend into coming with me for lunch. To my utter dismay, there was no chilli burger. There was chilli sauce to go on the fries and there was a chilli chicken burger - ew. I wanted a big, juicy, chilli coated beef burger. I was sad. So, instead I opted for the bacon and cheese. It was YUMMY! The burgers are huge, and embarrassing. Try sit in a booth where nobody can see you with sauce all over your gob after you take a gloriously juicy bite. Hei Hei fries were really good but quite salty. Rosemary fries were nice. Not to my taste, though. The service was great, friendly and quick. Not to forget the bottomless soft drinks - why can't we have bottomless beers? I hadn't been here for a long time, it was quite a nice change. I enjoyed my lunch and was stuffed all day. Good job, GBK! read more

When your waiter struggles with the concept of where to seat you then you can only hope the worst is over. Sadly however things got worse. This is inside a shopping center but you may as well have dined on a snow capped mountain as the temp inside was comparable to the 2 degree outside. The classic burger like the ambient temperature was cold and pitiful and to think a cow had to die for what was put before me.... the fries were cold and a little greasy. Overall a shambles from start to finish. My better half however enjoyed her food so I give a 2 overall. read more

Holey moley! Blue cheese burger, rosemary chips & a peanut milkshake. It had me foaming at the mouth. The last thing I remember is hearing myself moan with pleasure. It was like the scene in katz's deli from When Harry Met Sally. Absolutely well worth 2 hours sitting on the jax afterwards (gluten intolerance). Staff were nice too, very attentive and never kept us waiting. I actually only had a 20 on me so couldn't leave a tip :( Will have to double up next time. No complaints. (Except for that brat sitting across from me who stared at me through the whole meal. Why do kids insist on doing this? On the way out, as I passed his seat, I made sure to drop a fart into his general vicinity. I guess that's one upside of a gluten intolerance). read more

Okay, so my review of GBK Food 7/10. Starter: Onion Rings. Main: Kiwi Burger I enjoyed the food, tasty and nice to get a food tasty burger! Now staff.. That's why it's a 2/5 star. It's a fast food restaurant not fine dining but McDonalds gives you better service. I am greeted at the entrance "where would you like to sit" I choose a spot he goes "has to be cleaned off, sit here" why did you ask me? Staff talking about customers out loud, Then plate was just left on table and taken away. I was however asked during my meal if I was okay and called sir. That's nice! Focus seems to be the issue, I only had a water and I asked for another one but he refilled with sprite. Cool stuff for me. Saved me €3.40 but fail on his half. read more

There was a queue for Eddie Rockets, Spurs was oh-so-slow, so we went to gbk. I hadn't been to a gbk in ages and had a mixed experience before. I must say the food at this one was really good. My friend went for the meal deal which gives you a plain beef, chicken or veggie burger for a tenner. I went for the chicken satay burger which was excellent, although I'm not sure if the burger alone is worth the 9 euro price tag they put on it, as all sides and drinks were extra. I'm giving four stars as this is a pretty good restaurant for the weirdly stale atmosphere that comes of being inside a shopping centre in the evening. Service was not amazing. I have no specific complaints and some of the staff were very nice but some of the interactions were a bit lacklustre.... although you might also be able to blame them on the flouresent shopping centre lights blaring it - I'd probably underperform under those conditions too. still though burger = super noms! read more

I loved the food here. Yes its a bit pricey for a burger but its not your average burger :) i love the chicken camembert and cranberry burger! I also once had a salad here that had butternut squash, feta cheese, chorizo , lentils and beetroot was so yummy and the portion was huge i couldnt finish it. My boyfriend loves the wings also and he always gets the habenero burger but its too hot for lil old me :) We always go back to gbk. Dun laoighre is my favorite gbk just a pity its so far their rosemary chips where so tasty. Anyways.. try the salad!! :) read more

More of a 3 1/2 (but being generous as food was good) Got here on a Fri lunchtime (just in time as it was empty, soon filled) - good selection of burgers (I went for Greek lamb which was delicious, and different from your "normal" beef burger option), hei hei fries (where you added the seasoning yourself to taste), and free refills of elderflower fizz. Nice food - only downside (making it a 3 1/2) was at the end the waitress told us (fairly rudely) "you can't pay separately when it's busy" - making it hard for all of us who were going to pay by card. Ever get that feeling when you rediscover a childhood sweetie and then have that "are my hands getting bigger or is this product smaller than I remember" moment? Well I had the same moment in Gourmet Burger when I ordered a burger and chips. The burger was considerably smaller than I remember and the bowl which the chips came in was more like a large mug than it was a bowl. And unfortunately while the burger was as good as I remember the chips were the crispy pieces from the bottom of the wire basket that you are meant to throw out before putting on the next batch, rather than serving them to a paying customer, and covering them in an over dose of rosemary does not drown out the problem. The poor, painfully-slow service (in a restaurant that was not as busy as its surrounding competitors) meant that I missed the movie I had planned to see, so I thought I would treat myself to coffee and a brownie (the only dessert offered) instead, and well, this was really the piece of resistance. It arrived in the dish that was at one time the side sauce dish, half the length of a tea spoon and frozen solid. Wow. I took a picture to show this was no exaggeration. Gourmet Burger where did it all go wrong? Also, as a tip (because I certainly didn't leave a financial one for your incompetent staff) I would reconsider the '100 Tunes To Nurse Your Broken Heart' as the background play list. While I appreciate breakups are hard, and you carry the pain wherever you go, I would suggest that people don't want to have as the playlist to their evening out. read more

Oh dear, This was awful and €17+ The burger was average to poor. There was supposed to lettuce, not that I seen, the relish there was little that i could see. The chips there certainly was not over €3.00's worth and over €3 for the coke as well. I got lured by the big Signs of endless coke and ANY burger for €9.99. It was maybe my fault for not seeing the tiny disclaimer. Wont be happening again, even at €9.99 it was not worth it. Burger king is more Gourmet than this joint. read more
