Gourmet Buffet for some reason gets a lot of negative reviews, but I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience here. It's located in the Buckhorn Plaza between Walmart and Lowe's. They have a significant amount of seating for even a buffet, but takeout is also available. Stations include western food, a salad bar, Chinese food items, fried items, and two desert areas. The center station has Sushi and it's acceptable, but it's not a Sushi bar being freshly made like many buffets now offer. If dining here for dinner, they will often have a table setup for various seafood items. At least during lunch, I have not seen the hibachi area used in some time. Items that stand out include the Lo mein, which is better than at a lot of buffets I've dined at, and the Chicken and Broccoli is also quite good. Desert station has both fresh and canned fruits, puddings, cookies, and serve ice-cream. Beverages are Pepsi products. Overall, for the selection and price, Gourmet Buffet is a great option that I feel is underappreciated in our area. read more

Restaurant has been padlocked and is permanently out of business according to the sign on door.

The food wasn't bad for the price however you can tell that this place wasn't very upscale. A lot of the food looked very old and they did not bring out fresh food often. It was later in the day, but they still could've brought out at least a few trays that were new before the kitchen closed. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and there wasn't a lot of people there and the servers did seem nice, but it was definitely not as the title suggested gourmet food. read more

From one manager to the next, this place did not survive. The wait staff is as friendly as ever, but the food is deplorable. The sweet and sour sauce was NEITHER, which...I mean it's just red glop at that point. The rice may as well have been fried rice for how dry it was. The bbq chicken sticks were just dry, red colored chicken that maybe someone sat next to a hoisin sauce jar, none of it made it on the chicken, though. Tasteless. And to top it off, we both have loose stomachs the day after. So...wow, 40 bucks then, huh? And why was it hotter than blazes in there?! Too cheap for basic AC? I mean even with regulation HVAC that should have at least made it so it wasn't as humid as a July day in early April. There is a 0% chance that kitchen is following the rules. I'm all for second chances but there is a consistently poor level of sanitation and food quality at this place, while prices keep going up. And while I can forgive bland, tasteless food, getting me sick? Now that requires an answer. It's time for a call to the health inspector. read more

It can be good but they keep getting violations.sometimes the food tasts old and sometimes its fresh.hit or miss

I went there today and I will say that it will be my last time going there. I went there at 3:15 on a Tuesday. The woman who seated me said that it is now dinner time and if that's OK with me because it is more money. I said sure not a problem. However, none of the dinner food came out for at least 20 more minutes. So I was stuck with the lunch food. Eventually, some of the dinner food came out, which basically was disgusting. The muscles had a very strange taste to them. The other food is just OK. It is expensive for not having sushi nor hibachi. The Chinese buffet at the Wyoming mall is less money or about the same money for dinner and they have so much more to offer. Plus their food tastes better. read more

Everything we had was very good. What i like about this place is nothing was salty. Everyone was friendly too.

Didn't even go for seconds. Even the ice cream isn't that great. Both my fiancé and I became sick not even 15 minutes after leaving the establishment. Unable to go to flavor town. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

I went there once to dirty for me, Spanish music blasting in kitchen, grease dripping from exhaust hood, seen bugs, the department of health must go in there with sunglasses, dog, stick collect check on way out read more

Aw man I'm disappointed in this place. The food quality has gone from "eh maybe not the best" to "is this harmful to my health?"

we enjoyed this buffet. While not gourmet, it's better than the typical Chinese buffet. Service was excellent.

Super fail, Gourmet Buffet.....you did me wrong this time! I like to think I have an iron stomach, I've been told this by many people throughout the years. I can mix milk and OJ in my stomach like it ain't no thing while others stare in amazement. I may know of just one other time in my life I actually had "food poisoning". Doh, they got me and got me good..... STAY AWAY FROM THE COLD CLAMS, I REPEAT....DON'T TOUCH THEM!! The are located next to the king crab legs, clams still in the half shell, on ice. I vomited the entire next day and I'm 95% certain they were the culprit. Ugh, never ever ever again. If I had never gotten sick, I would have likely given the restaurant 3 stars as I've been many other times with no issues. But now I'm leery about ever returning, at least I'll stay away from the cold seafood next time. I'm a fan of the faux sushi here, I'm a fan of the king crab legs, I'm a fan of the pick your own items for a stir fry, all have been great. But you don't get off easy when you're serving food that can get your customers ill. The pizza is gross, on a Chinese buffet? Blech. The Chinese fried offerings usually scare me as well, people should not consume this much grease. French fries, seriously? Oh look, pork dumpling dimsum! Now that's more like it.... Sigh, this was a tough review to write and I'm disappointed at what happened. I have relatives less than a mile away and frequent the Wal-Mart often. I gave up on the ones downtown because you became somewhat of a staple to me for a quick sushi lunch that cost less than $7. Only time will tell if I'll go back or not. read more

Things have gone downhill over the last couple years. This used to be a staple when I was in college. Now it's mediocre at best.. Their lo mein was yellow, as if there was no soy sauce added, which also meant no flavor. There were no hot vegetables at all. The fried rice tasted like white rice, no flavor either. They had no dessert or sushi selection. We decided to not even stay 10 minutes... I asked the server about speaking to the manager, but he ran to his little office next to the register and stayed there until we left. Nowhere near what it was like when the last manager was there a few years ago.. I do not recommend this place. Fast food will get you better flavor and value...... read more

The food is good but our server was rude and threw our checks at us because of the amount we tried to tip so we just left. I have been there a many times before and never had a server be rude. read more

So you can eat here and you probably won't die. Was it good? No. Was it aweful? Also no. Some things were somewhat good while other things were just bad. For example the sushi was just like prepackaged store bought sushi. The egg drop soup was the worst I have ever had, imagine boiled water with egg strands in it, and no seasoning. Yuck. They did have a lot of American items if that is your thing. The salad bar had pasta salad, another noodle salad, broccoli salad. They were not exactly good or what you would find at an American BBQ but most were at least edible. Overall I would eat here again, but only if there were no other options. It wasn't so bad that I thought it would make us sick. It just wasn't very GOOD Chinese food. It really felt like Americans were cooking the Chinese food and Asians were cooking the American food. That being said there were lots of people eating here. So either people aren't picky or there are no better Chinese options for 50 miles? read more

This is literally EVERY Chinese buffet. I am so confused what all the hate is about. It is grease soaked, tasty as hell, heart palpitation causing take out style buffet food. The way EVERY place like this should be. I'm giving five stars to help balance out the unnecessary hate. Also because of the young man who works the hibachi area is very kind about cleaning off the grill for my girlfriend and I because she has severe allergies. read more

If I could have left a 0 I would. Most rude waitress experience i've ever had. Harassed us for a tip after forcing us to get water and being pushy about being done eating. Then proceeded to take my friend's money without asking assuming it was a tip and then said "oh my f*cking god" when none of us tipped her. Confronted the manager and got laughed in the face. read more

They are rude there. They have your bill ready before you even sit down. The food is gross and dry. They almost like force you to tip. I paid with card which I was rushed to pay as I was eating, and when she brought my receipt back she pointed to the tip part instead of the signature part and was telling me to put 2$ and just kept tapping it so I put two dollar bc I wasn't gonna be rude but it was very rude of her. The soda was also flat. read more

This place was decent back when it first opened. Went here today for lunch right before noon. From four different trays in the buffet, the food was cold. Flavor was bland, soda was flat. Only giving a second star because the place was relatively clean and service was ok. Would not recommend read more

Went there with my little brother and my boyfriend. The entry was clean, organized and well decorated. They had a decent variety of food, though I wish they had more kinds of sushi. The price is very reasonable though. read more

Awesome Buffet! Wide, wide range of foods, from your Chinese to American fares, and everything in between! The hibachi is solid, and the sushi is tantalizing! The servers here have no conception of English, but that's part of the allure of a Chinese place, right? This is the BEST Chinese buffet in the Bloomsburg area! read more

Like the Frog Legs. Sushi Chef and Habachi Grill come with the deal. As Chinese Buffets go, this is a pretty good one... On the other hand, the local paper has reported that they have been cited several times for Re-serving food. read more

Only the hosts will be able to speak any decent amount of English with you. The rest of the staff appears to be paying off their debts incurred from moving here and haven't learned English... Despite that, the service is excellent. Food is your typical chinese restaurant fare, as well as sushi, a hibachi, and a salad bar. Also, for children and those who don't like chinese food, there is pizza, macaroni and cheese, and ham or roast beef with mashed potatoes. read more

This is probably the worst Buffet I have ever been to. Very poor selection nothing is hot and nothing tastes good. Don't waste your time

Terrible service, terrible waitresses who have attitudes who rush you to pay. We weren't sitting for 15 minutes and 4 waitresses ask for our check. Food is warm and mediocre. I will never return to this establishment. read more

This is one of the best chinese buffets I've been to, simply because of their fantastic, fresh hibachi grill. Made to order with some of my favorites like rice noodles, bamboo, and shrimp. Pick from several sauces and you have a meal. Good soups and traditional chinese american dishes. Vinegar chicken stood out for me as a favorite. Decent enough sushi that I always had some. Night time brings more elaborate choices like frogs legs and king crab. One of the funniest things about the waitresses is their american name tags. I'm guessing "Candy" is not a name they were born with. Host can be mean, yelling at us when he thinks we did not pay. "Who had the tea!!" Other good memories here...getting yelled at by a local for eating with chopsticks..."What, a fork is too *american* for you? You think you are better than us?" And my boss screaming..."I am going to *kill* the person who has been letting their phone go off for twenty minutes? What the f___ is their problem?.....oh, that's my phone." read more

As a fatass truck driver, i seek out the local chinese buffet often. This place was marginal. Very small selection, not very fresh ingredients or good quality meat. The sushi was well beyond its peak. Granted, i'm not hugging the porcelain steering wheel and squirting out hot mustard, but i am definitly not jumping for joy either. In total: sub-standard. read more

I would NEVER go into a Chinese restaurant because I didn't like the food, but one day my business partners suggested we go to the Gourmet Buffet for lunch and I was outnumbered! I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent and there were many, many choices for someone who does not like egg rolls and chow mein. Since that first visit, I have been back several times with my family for both lunch and dinner. I have nothing to compare it to...Chinese Restaurant to Chinese Restaurant since that was the only one I have ever been to, but I love to go to Gourmet Buffet, and I never thought I'd ever say that. read more

Went there last evening, haven't been there for a while so decided to give it another shot to see if it was any better. With the exception of the egg rolls, everything was room temperature and old/overcooked. Honey chicken was hard as a rock, kung pao chicken was the same. Went up to check if any fresh food had come out and saw fresh kung pao so got some and it was hot but did not taste anything like kung pao. Sorry, don't waste your time and money. This place sucks ! read more

When we got there the room was dirty and most the food that I had to eat was kinda cold. The sushi wasn't the best and their wasn't many varieties of sushi. Most of the food didn't seam fresh at all either. The dessert wasn't fresh made either. Lastly, they had in the area to show the turtles off and the water looked dirty and really needed to be cleaned. One thing that was good for them is that they have fast service to be seated down. read more

Decent Chinese Buffet as Chinese Buffets go. I always go into these with great expectations and rarely leave feeling like they have met my expectations. This one does fall short, but not as bad as most. This place is cleaner than most and has a decent variety of food. As with most Chinese Buffets, there are only a few options for vegetarians. The hibachi line can get painfully long!! Sushi, which should be made fresh in small batches can be seen sitting out there for hours. The staff either does not understand English or refuses to acknowledge that they do. This means that if this place appeals to you, great, but if you want something, there is no one to talk to. If you want Chinese Buffet in Bloomsburg this is the best option. read more

Ok, where do I start...you seriously called this a Buffet!!! We came here on a way to a vacation and happened to stop in for some food. Man, what a mistake. My daughter ate the noodles and her stomach hurt like it never had hurt before! The selection was terrible. Chicken and bricolli, and fried rice were the only things one can eat. And it wasn't too good. I stood in the buffet aisles and contemplate a long time as to what I can eat since there's nothing to choose from. I have eaten at just about all the buffets and this is one could be a lot better. My son had the hibachi and he enjoyed it. Two stars. read more

Food is good. Service is bad. Waitress aren't around during meal but once the bring your bill the hover over you even after you pay your bill, waiting for a tip. And if you take too long they tell you that tip not included. And hound you until you tip or leave. They are very rude. read more

We went to 4.8 rating Knoebels Amusement park, we stoped by this place for dinner before we check in another 4.8 rating Comfort Suites next door. We totally disappointed. My son and I and another customer went to use the restroom, only one was available, we were politely let the other go first, then an employee went right in and pee over the place. The other employee got out the other toilet, left the same mess. I and that customer looked at each other and walked away. I took my son back to the table, before I opened my month, my husband right away said, "Don't tell me the lady's room is digusting too? We came back from Knoebels where thousands of people but every single restroom we used was clean, I can't before this." We couldn't stop wondering how they prepared their food. We checked out shortly and unable to enjoy tge buffet as we usually do. read more

Where do I even start...the service here is HORRIBLE. A group of friends and I went last night, we were of course nice to our waitress, and she was extremely rude and practically pushed us out the door. She took our plates away when we were CLEARLY still eating. She came to our table 5 minutes after giving us our checks and told us we need to pay now, so she forcefully waited until we all took our money out. Then we told her to keep the change (the coins because we were going to tip her on our cards and it would of been a hassle counting all the change) so she then ROUGHLY GRABBED MY HAND and put the change in it and said leave!!!!! Then she waved the check in my friends face and said "What?? Did I give you crappy service??? Wheres my tip!!!???" I was so shocked I couldn't even react!! She was very very disrespectful. Wish i could give this place zero stars. read more

I have very mixed feelings about this Chinese restaurant. 1. Variety of food is good. If you want American OR Chinese, they probably have it. 2. The manager/owner is very blunt and could not care less if there was a problem. 3. My husband had a bad experience once, and instead of really making it right, they took 10% of his MEAL only. Drink was NOT Included, not were our meals. Took a very long time to go back after this one ! 4. Waitresses have NO concept of English and do not understand a word you say. They also all have "fake" names. 5. Food is usually hot, which is a bonus for me. 6. Ice cream is actually ice Milk (very icy and nasty tasting) All in all, we have mostly always had good service, and good food. This is the best buffet close to Bloomsburg or Berwick, so that keeps people coming back. Cost is a bit pricey if you take your family, and NOW, you must pay at your table instead of at the cash register. I hope this was helpful ! read more
