The food here was very good. For only about 15 bucks you get enough food for 2 people or two dinners the spice level was right on. I asked for level three which was the spiciest. The shrimp and calamari tasted good as well. Menu prices are based on cash pay. Also the place it's r super big but it's very well decorated. Feels homey. read more

I wish I can give zero stars. We waited almost 2 hours just for a spring roll as an appetizer. There was party of 6 people but we ordered first and they still get the same appetizer. We did not make reservation but got the table but it felt that the server provided food to people who got reservations. It was not right and it got to the point where we want to leave. So we told the server to remove our order because it is taking too much time and all she responded was "sorry." Many online orders people were waiting and complaining for longer time. No feeling of being welcomed and unfair. Not recommended. read more

I've been here twice! The dine-in area is nicely decorated. It's not very big but definitely feels cozy. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. If you get one of the soups in a pot, it's the best cure for a cold rainy winter day. The portion is enough to share among 4-5 people. For both times, I had the noodle dishes, which were properly seasoned and the veggie/meat components were cooked just right. We also tried the Thai BBQ pork - fatty juicy punchy with fish sauce and palm sugar. It looks like a one-man operation and people do takeouts more than dine-in. Parking is street only I think. This was our first time going here. We were definitely pleased. My husband wanted thai food and this is where we landed. It's a nice quiet place, very polite hostess/waitress. She was really on the ball. Gave us just the right amount of time with menus, when swapping out dishes and with refilling drinks. We had spring rolls and BBQ pork to start, both amazing. I never had a spring roll quite like this one. The BBQ pork was sweet tender and delicious. For entrees we had the pad thai noodles and the pad khee mao. Wonderful family owned business! East Street (right in front of the restaurant) is prohibiting parking due to some massive construction efforts lately. When my partially disabled husband called in our dinner order and pulled up a block away, the owner very kindly walked out our order out to my husband! We had spring rolls wrapped in an unusual manner -- they would have looked like sacks of money from an old cartoon if they came with a "$" on them. Quite good. I had the Thai BBQ chicken, which was juicy, tasty and generally excellent. The tilapia was good, but somewhat overcooked. As Thai restaurants go, the food is not that spicy, unless you request it. Bloomin' Thai is hands down THE BEST ethnic food you will find in all of Bloomsburg. Granted, I have yet to try the new sushi place that opened up on Main St but for now, my statement stands. You might not be greeted with open arms and I'd say they have to work on their customer service skills. Food times can also be slow but that is understood when you can peek into the kitchen and see that there are never more than two people working and sometimes just the owner herself is preparing everything. It's like you entered her home kitchen and arrived prior to it all being ready, but the wait will be oh-so-worthit. The location is also in the midst of an old home and there are some rooms that were actually a living room at one point in the house. As long as you aren't claustrophobic, you won't even mind. Around 10 years ago when they first opened up, there was ZOMG HUGE FRONT PAGE NEWS CONTROVERSY!! How can a restaurant be open in town without *gasp* two bathrooms for the sexes?? Well, that's the town rule so the owner was clever enough to get around the statute and call his restaurant a "club", thereby allowing it to be open and skirt the law. Touche Bloomin' Thai, touche. So yes on to the food. OK, do I really need to talk about it? I've had over 10 different items here throughout the years and EVERYTHING, I mean everything, is absolutely incredible. If I had to critique anything, I'd say I've had better pad thai because the noodles were soggy the last time I had it. Get the spicy calamari to start unless you're a complete wuss because it will bite back. The Bloomin' Garlic really stands out for me and is my favorite dish. Also, the coconut curry with tofu/chicken is my second favorite. The desserts seem a bit overpriced but you'd have to travel to Wilkes-Barre to find fried ice cream elsewhere. Save yourself the $15 in gas and just order it here. Ah yes, I also can't forget it's BYOB and nothing goes better than a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio than Bloomin' Garlic Chicken, OMNOMONOM *GULP* OMONOMONOM. This is a long time coming as we have been fully committed patrons for nearly 2 years now. I'm not a long-winded reviewer. We have worked out way through 3/4 of the menu and have yet to be disappointed by anything we try, even if it is way out of our comfort zone. At least every other month we drive an hour from Wilkes-Barre to get our fix. And we have a fantastic Thai place that recently opened 5 min from our house, where we also enjoy. Took my dad here for Father's Day. You have to be a member ($1 for lifetime membership) and you have to make reservations, though last month when my husband and I stopped by just to see what the deal was, we bought a membership on the spot and were able to eat without making reservations ahead of time. We were so pleased with the taste and quality of the Thai food that we wanted to come as soon as possible to eat there again. We had ordered Pad Thai and Khao Soi on our first visit and both were very flavorful. Second time we went with my family we ordered a greater variety of dishes and each one was excellent. We got the Chicken Satay with Peanut sauce, papaya salad, Mee Krob, seafood curry, pineapple fried rice, Penang Mango & Prawns, Chicken Pad Zee Eeu (their spelling) Chicken Pad thai again and Thai iced tea. Having recently returned from a trip in Thailand, we are happy to report that the Thai food at Bloom'n Thai tastes quite authentic and spicy too. We love that this place is a BYOB, white wine pairs nicely with Thai food. The food does take some time to come out, but is worth the wait. It feels like each dish is lovingly made from scratch. My only wish is that the servers would smile more and make us feel more welcome. But the food is so good that we give them a pass for their imperfect customer service. Pretty good Thai food for such a small town. Great portions and reasonably priced. They close pretty early- but so does the whole town.

The eating space is surprisingly intimate when you go in, I like the elephant decor hanging around. The servers were very attentive even though the food took a bit to come out. The wait is worth it, the portion sizes are great, always enough for the next day. Be sure to order one of their curry dishes the sauté is delicious. read more

I don't share many reviews on Yelp, though I know I should. But this was such an outstanding dining experience, I feel compelled. This little, authentic Thai restaurant in Bloomsburg, nestled right next to the university along sorority row is the best Thai food I've ever had. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The cucumber salad, the garlic Thai chicken (so moist, must have been marinated), the noodles, the curry sauces, everything was delicious. And on top of that, the portions were large (an entree could feed 2 if you start with appetizers), and the prices were very reasonable ($14 - $20 for most entrees). So, if you're passing through Bloomsburg, or simply traveling down I80 and need a bite to eat, I would avoid all the chains along I80 and drive a little bit out of the way to find this hidden gem. The service was great , though it did take a little while for the food to arrive, but well worth the wait. You can tell these were not rushed recipes, somebody is back there taking their time to make sure they get it right. :) read more

When it comes to ethnic food in the Columbia/Montour area, you are limited. This is definitely one of the best in this area. People will pick up food from 20-30 minutes away! Call to set up an RSVP as limited seating. Know what you are going to eat ASAP as they handle multiple pick up orders. This is truly a hidden gem! We hadn't tried it because of the membership fee...it is easy to sign up and only cost $1...don't let this stop you! We have since been a few times and have loved every bite! The portions are very large and can definitely be shared! This time, my boyfriend and I got the dumplings (amazing), spring rolls, and pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. All of the food came out quickly despite the fact that they were busy. One of the things I miss most about my college experience is Bloom'n Thai!! Whenever my friends and I felt like gorging on real food, we'd skip dinner at the dining hall and splurge at Bloom'n Thai. Bloom'n Thai is a unique place. It is located in a house that is not wheelchair accessible (there are two or three steps) and so you have to join their private dining club in order for them to not be sued. The $1 lifetime membership is well worth it because once you've eaten here, you will keep coming back for more!! The food is EXCELLENT. Not only does Bloom'n Thai have the BEST Thai food I have ever found in PA, it also ranks in my top 3 of best Thai restaurants I've eaten at in general (and I've eaten in countless Thai restaurants across the U.S.)!! The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is cozy. If you're traveling far to get here, make reservations just to be safe because there is a limited amount of tables. Bloom'n Thai does not use MSG and there are plenty of vegetarian dishes. You can make a meal out of their large glass noodle soup, but I recommend you branch out and try some of the amazing dishes. I've eaten all of my favorite staples here: Pad Thai, Pad See Ew (or Pad Zee Eu), Pad Khing, Pineapple fried rice and Panang Curry... and they were all excellent!! The spring rolls aren't greasy and the waiters are very accommodating and willing to substitute ingredients in the dishes. My friend Kyle says their Spicy Thai rice is better than sex -- it's that good. I recommend traveling to Bloomsburg just to eat at Bloom'n Thai (I do) and save room for some sticky rice with mango!! read more

I've been going to Bloom 'n Thai ever since they opened. The food is amazingly good. Each dish on the large menu tastes great. Vegetarians will find plenty to eat, and omnivores will be happy with their many choices. I really recommend a reservation. And you will need to pay $1 to be a lifetime member of the dining club. This quirk is because there is only one bathroom, and a strange local ordinance. If you want take-out, you don't need the membership. It can take a while (and honestly, sometimes a very long while) for your food to be ready. It's worth the wait, but plan on that possibility. Or take it out, but you'll miss the atmosphere of the restaurant and the presentation of the food. You'll find old standbys like pad thai as well as more unusual dishes such as the appetizer with 7 items in it. Spinach with peanut sauce, taro-todd, sweet chili chicken, curries. It's all fantastic.
