Worst service ever. I literally don't know why I bother with dine in here. Yes their pastries are good but both locations are slow. Service at Draper is nonexistent. I literally stood at the door for 5 minutes and was never greeted by anyone; there were seven staff and five customers. As entertainment, I watched the existing dining customers look around for a server in futility. I finally sat myself and sat for another 10 minutes. No one said anything. Finally took it upon myself to wave down a damn waitress. Don't bother. Just get your croissants to go or skip it altogether. Let me be very clear that the 2 Stars is for our waitress. Wish we could rate separately. We had an awful experience at this location last night. We came for desserts at about 7:30/8 PM. We just finished eating dinner and wanted some yummy desserts. I have never been to this location but I just assumed it was like the Downtown location (which is amazing). We walked in from the pouring rain with a party of 10 (3 of which were toddlers). I spoke with the hostess and let her know how many were in our party and she seemed very uncomfortable and uninterested in speaking with me. She informed me that they would clear off a table in the back (right area) room for us. I told her no problem and went back to speaking with my family. My handicapped uncle and his caregiver are in town for this weekend and we are also People of Color. As we're waiting for our table and the hostess and another man were clearing off tables, a white family that had the same amount of members in their group as us walked in and the hostess sat them in the table she said she cleared for us!! I began to get very frustrated and upset at that point and wanted to leave. The man took another 5 more minutes to seat us and in the process of seating us, he kicked four women out from their table to attach their table to our table??? We then felt like we were being a huge burden to the women who were forced to leave! Our table had three extra seats and we could've sat perfectly at their table that sat 8 since two were in high chairs! We definitely felt discriminated against with the hostess and mans decisions on where we should sit. We finally got our table and our beautiful and kind waitress came to make us feel more comfortable and welcomed. We ordered desserts and were out before 9 PM. I was very pleased with our waitress and I'm sad I never caught her name but she was the cute blonde pregnant one. It was a very strange experience at this location. We will probably never came back to this location because it was so unpleasant and uncomfortable for the first 15 to 20 minutes. read more

Arrived w a party of 2 and were seated quickly which was great! Restaurant was only half full and beautiful. Quiet, very vibey. After sitting, it took our waiter at least 10 minutes to visit & ask what we'd like to drink. No biggie until we then waited another 20 minutes to order our food, where another waiter realized we had not been attended to and asked us what we'd like to order. Our waiter finally came back with our drinks. Then after serving us our food with no silverware, took 5 minutes to bring our silverware as we watched him chit chat with his coworker behind the counter. Food was excellent, dessert was phenomenal but our waiter was awful. Would still go back but just hope to get another waiter! read more

I stopped in here for a quick late lunch today, and was a bit dismayed to find they had waiter service. I was afraid it wouldn't be as quick as I wanted, especially when the parking lot was so crowded. But I was pleasantly surprised: they sat me right away, Jake welcomed me and took my order quickly, my food came quickly, and I was able to pay my bill quickly. It was what I needed, but I noticed others lingering over their meals and not being rushed. I got the half French dip sandwich and cup of French onion soup combo. They both tasted very good, though the soup presentation could have been a bit more polished. I would totally come back and get the same thing again... unless I wanted to branch out, since they have so many yummy-looking things on their menu. read more

LOVE this gourmendise location! I've been to the one in salt lake as well but I love this one much more and I appreciate it that they're open on Sunday's. I love their brunch menu and entrees are delicious too, but I've had it sometime where the food was served slightly cold and that's why I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5. Hope that's something they can work on in the future and make it perfect with the temperature of the food they serve. read more

Very cute bakery serving French patisserie! Went there yesterday for a brunch and ordered an iced mocha and croquet madame for myself and the husband ordered a chai latte, butternut squash pasta, and a French onion soup. It was pretty crowded, which you can't blame the business for. The were definitely understaffed, but the workers were still pretty friendly and tried their best to be attentive and help everyone in a timely manner. The cons: the chai latte and French onion soup were not as hot as we would've liked. The pros: the butternut squash pasta was really good! If you don't like rich sauces, I would t suggest it, otherwise it's really flavorful. The rest of the food that came out was meh. Nothing spectacular, but not bad by any means. The patisserie on display looked so good! We were full by the end od the meal, but would need to try again! read more

We love this place, but we almost walked out tonight. The host (who was very nice), seated us in a pretty crowded spot. I saw a table in a less crowded area and asked the host if we could move. She said "yes, of course". After we got seated, our server, Anesse, came over and said "next time, before you seat yourself, could you please ask the host about moving?". I couldn't believe she said that and we just about walked out because of it, but we really love the food here, so we asked for a different server and the manager apologized and said, "yes, no problem". So, the food is amazing, and I love that they serve alcohol, but the service really let us down tonight. read more

Stopped in at the Draper location, to grab a To-Go treat, after a date-night dinner. They didn't have much left in their pastry cases (great sign BTW). These guys know how to really bring it home, with the sweets! The Mrs. went with the raspberry tart. It looked perfect and she absolutely loved it. I am a chocolate freak and if you have never tried their brownie, you are missing out! I grabbed one and wow!!! So good. I loved it. Wilford Brimley wouldn't be happy with me! LOL. So why only 4 out of 5 stars? Well, the team working the counter was a bit challenging. Three separate team members asked me for my order. It's great to be given the attention. However, the reason three people asked me, was because one person would ask us for our order and then, vanish to the back. Then... the next person. Friendly, "what can I get you?" Ummm, I would like the blah blah blah. Response "okay" and again, vanish. Round three, same scenario. They are all young kids and super polite. But, come on! You're killing me smalls!" This was my first time here, my son has been bragging about this place, so I had to try it. What amazing food! I had the French stew and it was delicious and a great " comfort food". He had the steak salad and it was very fresh and tasty. The service was wonderful from beginning to end. Erin not only took our name down for a table, but also made wonderful recommendations of the various pastries that we ended up taking home. Our server, Olivia, had many tables that she was taking care of, but made sure that we did not feel rushed. Refilled our drinks right away and was very knowledgeable and friendly. Visited Utah and my wife and I grabbed sandwiches here. Nothing will get a 3 star faster than a place where I leave hungry. The French Dip sandwich is just too small. The Monte Cristo on another table looked like a fair portion but I didn't want anything fried like that after Thanksgiving. If the portion was right for me it would get a 4 star because the sandwiches were decent--nothing to rave about. For years I have loved Gourmandise in downtown SLC. Their marzipan cake is one of my all time favs. I was very excited to see they opened a place in Draper. Their display of sweets is amazing. Today I went and ordered some To go pastries after breakfast. I was disappointed when I opened the box in the car. They charged me nearly $6 for a slice of Black Forest cake that is not a full slice. Really??? You think that's a $6 slice. I am not someone with unrealistic expectations. I am someone that has been to bakeries all over. For $6 I expect a slice not a sliver. read more

We had coffee, French toast, polenta Benedict, croquet madam, yogurt and a chocolate chip cookie. Exceptional quality desserts. Expensive AF but probably worth it due to the high quality. I recommend the tiramisu, the passion fruit cake, and peach brioche thing. I have been there tonight and the service was HORRIBLE! Server take too long to help us . Once I order a food I have to wait too much and I noticed that my food was sitting there at the kitchen and nobody took it . When the server (not my server the other one) took my food was absolutely COLD . It was so frustrated!!! They do not serve slices of the whole cake anymore but today I saw that they have a strawberry chantilly already cut and I asked to get a slice I wish I could have a picture but I the slice was super small , and only chantilly . deserts are amazing. Food portions have gotten small while prices have gone up. I ordered avocado toast and it's significantly smaller for $10.00! I also waited a long time just for them to put avocado on bread and a couple tomato slices. The lattes just taste like hot milk, coffee isn't strong at all. Not many coffee drinkers in this part of Utah, so it makes sense that the Salt Lake locations coffee is waaaay better. Don't get a latte here. Drip coffee might be good. I also wish they created a place to sit for people waiting for takeout orders. People often order to go and end up just standing in front of the desert case while they wait, blocking other people. I won't be returning for food or coffee ever again. When I asked the waiter why the avocado toast was so small with no greens (like they use to add) he just agreed with me that it's ridiculous. I'll only come back for deserts. I have seen how the food has changed throughout the years, and just in the past 2 years it's been pretty dramatic. In looking at my last picture, I think the reason it was much smaller is because the type of bread being used is now different. I would remove my review if someone just gave an explanation, like "we were short staffed and they must have rushed making your food", or "inflation has driven us to cut back a little bit on portions", or "sorry for our mistake", but to be gaslit, that just makes things worse. Im not crazy, I've ordered the avocado toast for years and the last few times I got it it's significantly smaller. I usually go to SLC, but tried Draper thinking maybe things were better at that location... it was actually worse. Like I said, the deserts are perfection and what Gourmandise does best. Ok I can't say nearly enough about how INCREDIBLE this place is. A favorite hangout of my clique in college, this was many of our first exposure to fine French pastry. So many late nights were spent here walking from our cheap rental house to spend more than we could really afford on pastries and endless coffee refills. Fast forward to my first job (and the fact that I could now afford some fancy pastries lol) and Gourmandise provided more than one Tuxedo cake for various birthdays or milestone celebrations. It took me awhile to try the food itself but when I finally did I wondered why I waited so long? The tomato aioli on the Turkey focaccia panini is out of this world. I don't care what anyone says this place is absolutely fire. Not many places can you get a meal for $10-15 nowadays and get real good quality food. Service is great, good ambiance, and pastries are delicious and eye-appealing. The ham and cream cheese sandwich is great. I've been here a couple times and plan on coming many more times. Not an impressive meal today. Today we had the best service than we have ever had at this restaurant. Abie was on top of everything. Very much appreciated! We first ordered the kouign amann. Our family member loves these and I let him know that they are hit or miss here. The pastry was nice and moist in the middle but not flaky on top like some of the best we have had. Only once have I had it here that was excellent. For breakfast I ordered the eggs Benedict on polenta with bacon with tomatoes. Sounded great until the plate arrived with spinach. Unfortunately I am allergic to spinach and had it been listed on the menu I would have ordered something else. My wife ordered the brisket sandwich and the flavor was good but the sandwich as pretty dry. It really needs something, bbq sauce or an aioli? For dessert we had the strawberry ring. The pastry was dry and tough and usually it is really good. Did they use yesterday's pastry?? This is not a cheap restaurant to have subpar food. This is not the first time we ate here and said we should have gone to the restaurant downtown. This place is busy, I'll give them that. read more

We've eaten here many times. We've recommend the food and the deserts to so many people. After tonight I don't think we will be back. They brought out our dessert and after a few bites in we discovered mold on the strawberries. They offered another dessert...not that we'll eat it. Didn't compensate our full meal, just the dessert. And then apologized and said thank you for bring this to our attention. As if you want to eat food their again... just disappointed in the quality and care. i go to gourmandise fairly often to have brunch with friends. The wait is never very long and the staff are always friendly. i usually order either the brioche french toast or the creme brûlée oatmeal when i have breakfast. for lunch, their sandwiches are always delicious. my family also recently bought a fruit tart to celebrate the start of the school year. the tart was very fresh and was perfect for the occasion. read more

I went here for lunch with my coworkers who have raves about how delicious the food and pastries are for works. I don't know if it was an off day or if this is the standard experience but I won't be going back. We were seated quickly and promptly greeted by Casey (who was fabulous by the way) and we all took a gander at the pastry case. After ordering our food and a few goodies to go we enjoyed the café style dining room and waited for our meals to arrive. My tuna salad sandwich was served on extremely dry bread. It was not what I would expect from a bakery. My fruit cup had a few fresh raspberries sprinkled on top of pineapple and strawberries that appeared to be from the day before. Casey was very apologetic and offered to get a new sandwich on a different bread out ASAP but then came back to tell me the kitchen said it was "dry today too". At that point I asked them to just take it off the bill as my coworkers were finished with their meals. Casey also comped my cheesecake which was appreciated. However, of the four pastries we took home the only one I'd recommend trying is the marzipan. Overall this was an underwhelming experience and the two stars go to Casey for exceptional service and the marzipan for being delicious. read more

Left these guys a 1 star review a couple years ago. The quality was pretty bad and service was bad. They have really upped their game since then. I've been back several times due to the length of time having gone by and my love for the downtown location and they have consistently impressed me similarly to the downtown location. The pastries are amazing!!! We tried the almond horn, a crème brûlée, a peach bread pudding, and a chocolate mouse and they were all divine. I'm fact we ordered a few almond horns and after tasting them went back and ordered even more. The almond horns were soft and had an amazing flavor. We also ordered food. The French onion soup was delicious and had an amazing rich flavor! The Brussels sprouts were recommended by our waiter and they were incredible! So many complex flavors they are not to be missed! I had a Mediterranean salad, our party also ordered a salmon, and then the Monte Cristo. All three were okay, nothing special. The salmon wasn't super moist. The Monte cristo had a lot of bread compared to filling and was kinda dry. The salad was good but nothing special. Our waiter was really busy and she was very nice but we didn't see her much and waited a long time before having to just go ask someone else for our check. The French music they played though was really fun! I will definitely be back for the soup, Brussels sprouts and pastries but will skip the rest of the dinner I think. They did have pretty good Gluten free dinner options and even several gluten free options for dessert. read more
