He came right out and replaced it and was less expensive than another company who was not available for a few days. I don't want to leave a review for Darrel at P & D Electric for fear that so many people will hire…read morehim that I will have difficulty getting him to work for me! I particularly don't want to reveal how quickly Darrel can swing into action in an emergency. I don't understand why other contractors are so hard to schedule, but Darrel is the most accommodating tradesmen I have ever encountered. I suppose it won't be that risky to vouch for his high expertise and the efficiency with which he solves house wiring problems. Probably won't hurt to mention what a good guy he is and how well he explains what he is proposing to do or what he has done. He respects one's intelligence. Ok, ok, so his charges are reasonable, too. So anyway, as a favor to me, please don't hire Darrell for at least a few years so that I can have as much of his time as I want. I'm pretty old and you young people can afford to wait a while. If you are unwilling to grant my favor and you do hire Darrel, you will be getting the best electrician around. But maybe YOU could hold off on recommending him to others for enough time for Darrel to complete my projects. Like I said, I don't want to praise Darrel so highly in public, but I just can't help it. John from West Cumberland

I called no fewer than six electricians before I found P&D - none called me back for days. When I…read morecalled P&D, I not only received a call back within an hour, Darrel told me that he could swing over on his way home after finishing his current job! Contractors these days seem more interested in the big jobs than the everyday small ones we all have eventually. P&D concentrates on what he called the "Mom & Pop" jobs. It was a good thing for me - turns out my "small" job was a potentially very dangerous one, and P&D very likely save me from a fire. Cannot possibly recommend P&D more!

We hired Bill to work on our deck and make it more secure. It was never bolted to the house when it…read morewas built and it started shifting away from the house and becoming unstable. Before starting the job he came to the house and did a thorough look-over of the deck and took notes. The next day I had another contractor come by to give me a second estimate for comparison. They barely looked at it, didn't mention all the things that Bill pointed out, told me they couldn't do it until 3 weeks later, then said it would cost twice as much as Bill's quote. Needless to say, we went with Bill. He started the job quickly and wrapped it up even quicker. When he was done he even quoted us on painting the entire deck, which we took him up on because painting a deck is a major pain in the ass. He completed the painting in about 2 weeks (due to weather and holidays) and it came out great. The deck required 3 coats due to the dark stain that was originally on it, but Bill didn't change the cost of the job or complain. I'll call him again if we have another big project that we need a hand with. He's a good dude.

Where to start?! Last year I contacted Mac of all trades to…read moredo a deck roof repair. They came...gave me an estimate.of 500.00...to do minor repair to stop the roof from leaking. After it was done...the roof leaked worse than before...they were notified and eventually came back and said...oh...they forgot to use the silicon deal on the seams...they came back and supposedly did the silicon sealing... Next rain...still leaking...and continues to leak... definitely worse than before their attempt to fix it. Here's the main problem...I contacted them...told them I needed them to return and fix the problem as I wanted to paint the deck...and now...the water is much worse and I can't paint it until the leaks are properly repaired.....no callback after a bit of time.callex again...no answers...left messages several times......nothing. Finally wrote them s letter which I still have a copy of....nothing...no response...ever...called once more...nothing. Weather turned to winter and I left it go...now out 500.00 dollars and my roof is leaking horribly. I just experienced another rainy day ...horrible leaking going on still but am totally fearful of hiring someone again for fear of being ripped off once again. These guys are aweful..im retired woman alone and I trusted them to take my money and do the job. I don't like complaining but my daughter's are angry now that I've told them why we can't sit on the deck when it rains as we did before these people made a small leak turn into a huge disaster...then totally refuse to get back to me when I tried to contact them over and over again....I lost 500.00... Horrible people...they sure are as unprofessional ad they come...I would never ever recommend them. It's one thing to make a mistake and fix it....quite another thing to take your money and make a major mistake and never acknowledge it by totally ignoring you. I truely wouldn't give them one star...but had to in order to post this review...beware senior citizens....these people are not reliable
