Dr Vicki had advised me to return every two weeks or once a month, but proper tattoo removal requires at least eight weeks between sessions for the skin to heal. On average, the doctors and PAs are attentive and do a good job. Just the front desk people and nurses are never consistent. Sometimes they are friendly, sometimes so snotty and rude I wonder how they keep their job. Today was ridiculous. The woman at the front desk was polite but informed me that on weekends they "become" a specialist clinic. What does that mean? Well it means my $30 co pay now jumps to a $50 copay. I'm sure I'll be seeing the same PA and NP, except this time my check book and my insurance is seeing a hefty upcharge. Hello - insurance fraud!?! Let aware I have met my Out Of Pocket so I do not owe anything at the visit. Once your out of pocket is met you typically do not owe anything especially when it covers 100%. I let the front desk aware of this insurance policy as the front desk kept arguing that there is a copay even though the out of pocket is met. I let aware that's not how that works as I work in the same industry. Front desk stated the doctor stated that was normal practice which is insurance fraud. I do not care about the copay but the matter of the office does not know how insurance works is scary!
