I have worked with Marty over a dozen of times and each project has its own interesting perspective yet with great results. I enjoyed working with Rene his partner. It is hard to come by hard working, ethical yet good people in the construction industry. Having Marty and Rene to over see each project as Lead engineer, is a large burden off your back. They are even great at negotiating your bids to avoid over paying for any project with fair market value. My favorite take away was a client had a property she was closing on as a bank owned. I brought Marty to the inspection and he noticed a hidden structural issue. He pointed out the issue before hand, investigated and access what the damage would cost if she concluded. His advice was it was over priced. The client walked away from it and the next person who purchased it had to demolish the building making it, a bad investment with unexpected losses. It pays to do your due diligence and allow the experts to do their job. Thank you for all you have done in the past 16 years to help my personal investments and my clients investments!

Talavera Engineering is an BIG AVOID. Rene at Talavera was hired to engineer an18' 4" x 6" Steel…read moreBeam on the outside front and 30+' of Steel Beam on the back of a house. Rene did not design the beams with a simple slip joint. When the weather got to be 10 degrees one morning and 7 degrees the next morning the Steel Beams contracted causing Cracks in the Block. The Steel contracts and expands at a different rate than the block. A 18' Steel beam I am told by many engineers will contract about 1/4". Any good engineer will design a Steel Beam with Slip Joints which allow the Steel to expand and contract freely. A slip joint is not always necessary when the steel is on the inside which is usually sheltered by the elements but many engineers will still incorporate a Slip Joint in the Steel Beam as a safeguard. Also there no End Caps on the open ends of the Steel beams which would keep out bugs and rodents. Rene at Talavera was also responsible for a design on part of the Structure and there are major foundation and structural issues with the house.. If Talavera cannot design a simple Steel Beam I would not trust them with designing any other house in part or full.
