Coming back to dance felt intimidating, but last year I found Uno's Dance on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I was nervous returning to dance, but I'm so glad I did. I was specifically looking for open-level adult classes and thought it would be fun to try a K-pop class. From the very first class, I realized this isn't just a typical dance studio--it truly feels like a community. Uno teaches full dance covers of entire songs, incorporates formations, and even films the dances in costume, which makes the experience feel complete and rewarding. There are also opportunities to perform throughout the year, which is a huge plus if you enjoy performing or want something to work toward. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and full of positive energy. I genuinely look forward to every class, and dancing consistently has also helped me with my fitness and confidence. Uno has been a big inspiration in helping me rediscover my love for dance, and I'm grateful for the friendships and experiences I've gained here. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a fun, encouraging place to dance and grow.

But Uno's killer body workout is so much fun, I hardly even realize I'm doing a workout! Not only do we learn dance moves, but she also trains us in better posture and is an exceptional motivator! I've gained so much confidence in my body since coming here! I also sign up for her kpop adult dance class, where she teaches us the full choreography of a song and lets us dress up as a pop-star group at the end of learning the full choreography! Each year she gives us an opportunity to attend extra rehearsals and perform on stage. These are optional performances, and those of us that request to perform put in extra time and effort to make it special and put a good show! She fosters such a kind and supportive community and everyone in the class has been so friendly and welcoming! I've made so many amazing friends since joining and always look forward to seeing everyone! If you're looking for a fun workout or dance class and great class environment, come to Unos Dance Studio!

Dance West is a great place to learn ballet as an adult…read more Most ballet studios are not adult friendly. Most ballet studios only reward tweens and early teens who have small bones, long legs, flexibility, nicely arched feet, small heads, tapering fingers, and parents that can pay for them to come 1-2 times a day, 6 days a week. Not so at Dance West. Mike & Monique, the owners, are serious about ballet and yet they temper it with the understanding that only 1% of their tweens and teens wants to be a professional dancer and that all of their adult dancers dance because they love it. They make ballet fun and hire teachers for tap, jazz, and hip hop that keep that attitude of fun. This is the least snooty dance studio I've been to, and I've been to A LOT of dance studios. Back when it was in Seal Beach, the class schedule & studio brochure used to note that eating disorders were not tolerated. Only by eating a healthy diet and healthy meals would dancers become strong enough to meet the demands of dance, it said.
