I've been a dancer since I was little, but I took a 10-year break to focus on school and start on…read moremy career. Coming back to dance felt intimidating, but last year I found Uno's Dance on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I was nervous returning to dance, but I'm so glad I did. I was specifically looking for open-level adult classes and thought it would be fun to try a K-pop class. From the very first class, I realized this isn't just a typical dance studio--it truly feels like a community. Uno teaches full dance covers of entire songs, incorporates formations, and even films the dances in costume, which makes the experience feel complete and rewarding. There are also opportunities to perform throughout the year, which is a huge plus if you enjoy performing or want something to work toward. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and full of positive energy. I genuinely look forward to every class, and dancing consistently has also helped me with my fitness and confidence. Uno has been a big inspiration in helping me rediscover my love for dance, and I'm grateful for the friendships and experiences I've gained here. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a fun, encouraging place to dance and grow.

I have been going to this place for more than 2 years now…read more Great place for fitness and awesome teacher. I always get positive vibes when I go there. I feel so blessed to have such an instructor who always motivates and takes personal interest towards the fitness for each individual in the class. I love the Killer body class wherein it is the whole body workout. Fun part is that it is not only workout but she also adds little dance movements like salsa, K-pop, shuffle dance for 10-15 mins along with the signature steps of the popular songs. I'm so happy to be a part of this fitness center where I made genuine friends and my teacher is so much dedicated and passionate that there was no day when the Studio was closed or the teacher was absent in this entire past 2 years. She is really a great guide and highly inspirational. Love you Uno :).

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING !!!!!…read more We were planning to have our wedding reception at this location. This has been in the works for about a year. Khloe was the lady who had started the process for us and was very nice & helpful. She would always answer our calls whenever we had any questions regarding what we could and what we couldnt have at the venue. Somewhere along the way it was switched over to another person named Alo. And THIS is where everything went down hill. Everything that we had already signed and discussed prior to this switch was never forwarded to her. This lady would never answer her phone when we needed her for answers to questions that were being asked to us. So 2 weeks prior to the wedding we trying to contact her and her communication with us was non existent. Our vendors had questions and when we were trying to get answers she would never respond back. But when it came to MONEY and making sure we pay she was always calling. Our wedding day came 9/27/25 and it was a complete disaster at our reception. She was never on sight. And when she did finally show up after blowing her phone 10 times she didnt know where the DJ could plug into their system, she didnt know she had to be there to control the lighting for our first dance, garter dance ect. which is what i signed for, there was no SECURITY present which is what I signed for. So it was all bad. The communication with this place is no good they take forever to respond back but when it comes to your money best believe you'll be hearing from them. This left a real sour taste in our mouths because we were really looking foward to it. We decided to have our reception here because it gave us Vegas club vibes with the loud speakers and lighting. It had everything that we needed and wanted. But when it came to our first dance ect. I was the one turning the lights off. We had white lights flashing all night instead of colorful lighting for the dance floor really ridiculous and her response was " im not a light technician " but yet she carrys a ipad to control lighting very snotty lady. What a let down.

I really love Dance West. The classes are great for all ages and it is a great place to learn to…read moredance. There are many options from taking a single class, dance team, even classes for adults. The owners take a lot of pride in their studio and are involved with the local community. Their prices are affordable and some of the best around for quality instruction. I would definitely recommend this studio.

Dance West is a great place to learn ballet as an adult…read more Most ballet studios are not adult friendly. Most ballet studios only reward tweens and early teens who have small bones, long legs, flexibility, nicely arched feet, small heads, tapering fingers, and parents that can pay for them to come 1-2 times a day, 6 days a week. Not so at Dance West. Mike & Monique, the owners, are serious about ballet and yet they temper it with the understanding that only 1% of their tweens and teens wants to be a professional dancer and that all of their adult dancers dance because they love it. They make ballet fun and hire teachers for tap, jazz, and hip hop that keep that attitude of fun. This is the least snooty dance studio I've been to, and I've been to A LOT of dance studios. Back when it was in Seal Beach, the class schedule & studio brochure used to note that eating disorders were not tolerated. Only by eating a healthy diet and healthy meals would dancers become strong enough to meet the demands of dance, it said. The connected company, Metropolitan Ballet Company, has won choreographic and performance awards in Europe on several occasions.

The past year my 9-year-old daughter has been attending "Center Stage." As she had no dance…read moreexperience we enrolled her in an introductory Hip Hop class, which she loved. Soon after, she invited 3 of her school friends, who also attended Newcomb Academy to join the class. After the first year's recital they all decided to continue Hip Hop, additionally adding a Jazz class. Before I continue with this review, I must confirm we have had no issues with her dance instructor "Miss Emily." Emily was always kind, patient, fun and well equipped to instruct multiple dancers ranging in ages 7-9 years old. My daughter and her friends adored Emily and were very sad to leave her class. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago we had a very unprofessional, shocking incident occur with Leslie, one of the owners. When I picked my daughter up after class, I noticed that one of the dancers in her class was crying uncontrollably. Another mom from class was trying to comfort the girl while she waited for her mother. I walked over to see if I could be any assistance, but she was crying so badly she was unable to speak and tell me what occurred. Soon after my daughter and one of her friends who was trying the class to possibly join had no problem telling me what occurred. They let me know that while Miss Emily was changing the studio music Leslie took it upon herself to walk over to the classroom and reprimand, and yell at the class, and call out the student in tears for standing behind the studio barre. She screamed at the little girl to come over to her, sternly yelled in her face that she was "disrespectful, breaking the rules by standing behind the barre. She demanded that the little girl apologize to her. Additionally, she told the class "This was her studio, if they weren't going to listen, she would cancel the class, and they were all disrespectful." This resulted in the little girl running to the restroom, locking herself in the bathroom and crying for the remainder of the class. My daughter let me know that you could hear this little girl crying in the bathroom through the music the remainder of the class. Sadly, my daughter said Miss Emily, who was trying to comfort the little girl told her "Don't worry, Miss Leslie has made me cry before too." My daughter and her friends told me they feared the "old, mean lady" and felt so bad for their dance friend. Yelling at a child is NEVER acceptable, especially in a business setting. I have never once gotten complaints from Miss Emily, Leslie, or any of the other owners that this class had disciplinary problems or any other issues for that matter. Why Leslie thought it was ok to yell at the class, with empty threats and aggressive behavior I will never understand. Another mother that was present at pick-up admitted that she has seen Leslie yell at staff and dancers 2x prior to this incident. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! It's clear to me that Leslie has been getting away with abusive behavior for YEARS. I am truly disappointed that her behavior has been overlooked for so long. I started to re-read older Yelp reviews and realized she has several negative reviews. I am so sad I didn't investigate reviews further before taking my daughter and asking multiple friends of hers to join this studio. When I wrote the studio to let them know I would be canceling classes due to this incident and that I wanted a refund on my recital costume they responded with "Your check is in the mail." There was no apology, no explanation, nothing. We were clearly just a number to the studios pocket-book. Myself, and 4 other families have taken our children out of this school due to this incident. I would not recommend this studio! If you are ok with the potential of your child being screamed at or embarrassed in front of a class, this would be a great studio for you. It only took one incident for me to know this type of behavior is not ok. I really hope Emily realizes she doesn't need to put up with this type of abusive behavior and finds another studio to share her talent with.i
