As someone who has been in and out of enrollment at multiple other Bollywood dance studios for the past 10 years like RRB and Amna, NDM is by far the best out of all of them. If you are genuinely looking to improve your dance skills, become more precise, and better express yourself on stage, based on what I have seen, NDM is the most effective at achieving this. I want to emphasize that I would say that I improved as much in one month at NDM as I did in three months at other schools. My 5 year old daughter and I joined NDM this year and we took part in the Shaadi recital less than a week ago. What an experience it was! I was lucky to watch a lot of the show, and I was dancing in my seat and in my heart the entire time. From the song selection that ranged from golden era to now, to the sharp and elegant choreography from every number... and even the dazzling costumes and colors representing SHAADI all across India, I was just blown away and feeling so much pride to be part of this Bollywood dance show. My dance teacher is Mr. Nakul himself, and to say this man is passionate is an understatement. He has dedicated his life to Bollywood dance. I appreciate his style, approach, and commitment to every student as a teacher. He is strict, precise, and his choreography is authentic to Bollywood. He ensures that the whole team meets his vision for the steps he's teaching - and that extreme attention to detail is what I believe sets him and his team apart. I enjoy dance class so much because of Mr. Nakul's energy and the team spirit he helped create in the class. Though I've danced and performed most of my life, this is the first time I'm learning dance professionally through a school. Let me say... I've learned so much as a dancer in the last 9 weeks, and I am very excited to keep learning from the very best! My daughter was in Ms. Ambika's class and my whole family cried happy tears watching her up there doing her performance with such confidence! She was lip-singing, showing Bollywood-esque sassy expressions, and doing those strong, not subtle, tumkas! All I can think is she's only 5 right now... and she's already a star! We owe this to her teacher and NDM studios for (1) creating an environment where the youngest of the batch feel safe, prepared, and are having so much fun to be themselves, (2) setting the bar high so the kids can prove all they got, and (3) for putting on such fantastic productions for our kids to take part in and get inspiration from. Both my daughter and I have been students at NDM Dance Studios for the past four years and absolutely recommend the school for anyone interested in learning Bollywood dance. All the teachers at NDM Dance Studios are all amazing and bring out the very best in every student. We are so glad that they have continued offering classes/workshops through their virtual platform during this pandemic. It's been very uplifting to be able to continue learning. Nakul Dev Mahajan has also been teaching his fun, high energy virtual Bollywood cardio class twice a week which has been a great way for me to stay active and burn tons of calories from home. The entire staff/team at the school is also very loving and it's a very "family" type of atmosphere. I love that they stand for more than just dance. Your child will learn respect, values, and have a great team of mentors around them. My daughter's confidence in herself has definitely increased so much since she started and her teacher has become a role model for her. Although they are pretty good at teaching the kids Bollywood dance, which is so important to maintaining the cultural tie and connection to the motherland, I can't stand Nakul and his mother who run this place. They are very arrogant and rude. If the choices weren't no limited and if my daughter didn't love Bollywood so much I would have yanked her out of this place. read more

NDM Dance is where my daughter learns Bollywood dance. She has been going to the Irvine center for the last 7 years. She and all her friends look forward to the classes and the performances. She participates in the annual performance and the Ek Do Teen performance. We as parents love the high quality show they put up. Love the way Nakul conducts the show - very punctual and interspersed lots of humor. It is a treat to watch the troupe and also Nakul himself dance. I would highly recommend NDM for anybody in Southern California that wants their children to connect with Indian movies, Indian dance forms and also the music and language. My daughter has been taking classes with NDM for almost four years now. We are amazed by how much she has grown as a dancer since then. At first, my daughter was hesitant about joining class because rhythm did not come naturally to her and she felt dance just might not be her thing. I left several messages on their phone, left facebook messenger texts and emails to the owner and the instructors for more than a month for the dance classes. No answer, no response. After trying several times, once the mom of the owner answered the phone, she said she was just helping out and does not have any information about the classes. However she asked me to write an email and took my information to pass it on. That is it. Nobody called after that. I really wonder how businesses thrive in spite of so much irresponsiveness. Why maintain the office numbers when they don't have an intention of checking the messages. Seriously, i don't care how best their teaching is and how big they are, when they don't respect their customer, it means nothing. And it will eventually show in the business. What can I say, they can dance. So can family members except if you have your family or friends dance at your wedding, you won't have to worry about the rude attitude from a company that thinks they are all that now just because they got on 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Possibly the worse service I have ever seen. VERY RUDE, refuse to dance if guests are still eating (you have to tell the guests to stop so the dancers get all the attention). DO NOT expect a thank you or a smile, that is asking a lot. 'They can suck it' quoted from a member of the bridal party who missed half of the wedding to cater to their needs because they arrived late. Your better off getting some friends and having them do the dance for you. The dancers were not too bad, the management or I guess their contact person who comes with them was a total B****. read more

I live in Hawaii and when I was visiting my brother in California, he suggested I try one of Nakul's Wednesday evening Ladies Cardio Class! This class was on a whole new level I have never experienced with the positive energy and movements. Nakul's blend of bollywood music was high energy and it matched his enthusiasm and his amazing passion for Bollywood and his culture. The moves were not complicated but they were fast which I loved. These people are extremely arrogant, rude, and full of themselves. My eight year old daugther went to their dance class in Artesia for one quarter...never again. The teacher was nice and was ok with the girls, but the guy in charge of the studio, Nakul, was very arrogant to me, my cousin, and other parents in the class. He thinks he is the only person in Los Angeles who can teach our children our cultural dances. He's wrong. I have been a student at NDM and it was truly a fun and fulfilling experience. Mr. Nakul is the Artistic director and CEO of the academy and was my teacher. I have taken several dance classes at other institutions, so I know when a teacher is really doing their job and when they are going above and beyond that. Mr. Nakul is loving and patient with all of his students, but he will be blunt with you and give constructive criticism when needed, which truly pushes students to their full potential. The classes are constructed so that students can get a taste of various classical and folk Indian dance forms as well as forms like Hip Hop and Jazz. Also, the annual show that takes place every spring and is a great experience to be a part of. The costumes designed by Ms. Khushy are breath taking ( and you get to keep them!) The lighting/stage setup is also very well done. If you want some REAL Bollywood dance training and to be a part of a spectacular performance, this is the place to go. read more

I grew up as a dancer and have taken many classes in the LA area in different styles of dance including Bollywood. I had to write a review after my experience with NDM. They are by far the most professional Bollywood dance school in Socal and also will produce the best dancers out of their school. If you are looking for your child to attend a dolly dinkle daycare service this is not the school for you. If you want your child to learn discipline, technique, performance ability, and build the confidence and skills it takes to become a dancer this is the school you want your kid in. Nakul's teachers are working from life long training in various styles of dance. Some of which work professionally in Hollywood entertainment and have the experience to train. Nakul himself has built a school from the ground up and continues to inspire. His resume speaks for itself. He expects the best out of his students and will not stand for laziness or unprepared students. You are paying for the best. Nakul's parents and family all work for the school and behind the desk. The school has by far the cleanest studio I've ever been to and the floor is really great to dance on. I had a great time taking the adult women's cardio class that Nakul teachers. The music was so much fun and I was dripping by the end of the hour but I had a great workout. I only wish it were closer to where I live in Los Angeles, but it is well worth the drive to get the quality you want. read more
