We had an excellent experience with Gorilla Moving Co. They disassembled all our furniture, wrapped up the wood furniture so it would not get scratched and took good care of everything. In the new house they moved all our boxes and furniture to the rooms they belonged to and assembled our furniture. I wish you could do zeros for reviews. Where do I begin??!!! We used this company when they moved my mother in law back in April 2021. They did a great job...then. My daughter moved today July 31st. I decided to contact Gorilla Moving Co again as they did a great job. I called him July 13 and Daryn told me to email him inventory of what needs to be moved. He also told me he owns a moving truck and he charges $65 flat fee. I accepted. I emailed him the inventory info on July 14. He never responded to my email so I texted. NO response. I called and left a few messages, texted and emailed AGAIN. NO RESPONSE!! I decided I'd call from my work number since he wouldn't recognize the number. He answered. I told him how worried I was that he was not going to do this move. He told me "I am a man of my word. If I told you I'd be there, I will be there because I am a man of my word" So I said ok. See you Saturday at 10:30. He also told me someone had swiped his door from truck and truck is no longer available. So my husband reserved a U-Haul truck. Daryn said he would contact us first thing in the morning to talk last minute details. My husband arrived at my daughters apt with truck at 9:30 am. No call from Darin. He called Daryn at 10;00 and my husband said he sounds like he was asleep and said I'm stuck in traffic I will be late. My husband called him quite a few times and Daryn kept saying he was in traffic. Had to be a lie because it took my husband 40 minutes to get to city and there was no traffic. Daryn said he would message my husband when he was closer. Finally Daryn said the coworker he was using was not informed of move and would take him 2-3 hours to get there. So he lied the entire time!!! He NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! My husband told him he wants nothing to do with him or his movers. Daryn even tried to get us to use a different moving company!! My husband had to do the move with my daughter and her roommate. I cannot stress enough DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!! He will lie to you and leave you stranded. Hired them back on 6/19/2019 for moving date 6/28 (today) owner Darren called and discussed where to meet, time etc and even left voice mail last nite letting us know we are all set for 9am today! There was great communication from the start, and the owner that I was in contact with the entire time was very laid back and seemed to be a good person. The two guys that came to help, they went above and beyond, making sure fragile things were taken care of. They packed the truck very responsibly and like a great game of tetris to save space. They were great guys and all very personable. The moving process is always very stressful and exhausting, and them handling this the way they did really took a lot of that stress away. The day of our move (7/1), Daryn said the crew would come between 7-8am.. 8:30am rolls around and no one has arrived. We call Daryn and he said there was a mix up and the crew would be out by 2:30pm at the latest and he would give us a 50% discount due to the inconvenience and would be in communication with us. At 3pm we had no update from Daryn and no one showed.. we called and texted multiple times but he ignored is completely. With it being a holiday weekend, we were screwed and had to move ourselves. Never once received a call back from Daryn. I DO NOT recommend Gorilla Moving Company. Extreme lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service. I highly advise against hiring Gorilla Moving Company if you plan on moving. They packed our items in a way that caused thousands of dollars in damages. At first, they seemed willing to work on the damages. I only asked for the money we paid them to pack our moving truck. However, they have now ghosted me and refuse to respond or pay back the fees paid. For example, they did not wrap our 3 glass table tops for coffee/end tables in a blanket or cardboard, and needless to say, they did not survive our 800 mile move. They also failed to wrap multiple items, which resulted in damage upon arrival, including a headboard, dresser drawers, mirror, and flower pots. Despite having access to multiple blankets and cardboard, they did not use them. Please be cautious and avoid using this company for your move. read more

Daryn and Chris were absolutely fantastic. The BEST help I have received! Daryn (the owner) was responsive to my calls, and did a follow up call the morning of. They were timely, and worked really hard. They moved items from the basement to the first floor and from the 2nd floor to the first. They moved 2 pieces to a storage unit. Daryn, also offered to switch my washer/dryer around so the doors would align, and cleaned out the vent (no charge). This company is fantastic, the are responsive, hard working, and honest guys with great hearts and beyond excellent service. They also are licensed and insured for HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing. Daryn was the saving grace of 2020! Never before have I seen such a hard working, selfless, and compassionate person in my life. My family was in one of the toughest spots due to a national van line blowing off our move and leaving us no time to get our belongings out of a sold house. My wife left a voicemail for Daryn while we were attempting to come up with a solution and even booked another company to come help my Father and I pack a 26' truck. Daryn called back later that evening after finishing up some of his booked jobs, and said if the other company fell through we should call him. As luck would have it, the booked company failed to show up as scheduled. We called Daryn at the absolute last minute and he was out to our site helping within an hour! He re-packed our already half-full truck making it nearly a quarter of the size we had already done! It's like hiring a LEGO master builder for your move! Unfortunately, he had another job committed after packing the truck and was unable to immediately start helping unload into our storage units. But he didn't let that stop him, he arranged to meet us at the storage unit later that evening and proceeded to help unload and pack the storage unit for the next 2 hours. We then repeated the back and forth process over the next day completely taking care of all of our belongings and getting them into local storage. This was a monumental task for the short time frame we had to work with, simply amazing the amount of work Daryn and his staff put in. We had such a great experience we discussed having Gorilla perform our out of state move (3 storage units worth of stuff) going halfway across the country. Within a day or two, Daryn put together a quote and timeline for getting our belongings to us. Something this national van line was unable to achieve with over a full month of preparation. His quote was reasonable, the timeline was great, so we went forward with his plan and proceeded to drive across the country without our stuff for the first time ever. This is where things got crazy. Because of COVID, there was a statewide problem sourcing moving trucks for out of state moves. However Daryn was able to secure one within a few days to begin the project. Gorilla spent a full day preparing our belongings for transport by wrapping them in blankets, consolidating various components and doing whatever possible to make things fit in the truck he had. Unfortunately, fully packed the truck was only able to get about 60% of our belongings. So he proceeded to bring that haul down to us after trying to source another truck for a few days with no success. He arrived less than 2 days later and unloaded into our house and garage within just a few hours. Literally non-stop, he finished the job and turned around back to IL to get the rest. Then we ran into another snag, the truck broke down on the way back and had to go in for repairs. This was further exacerbated by the shortage of trucks problem not being able to get a replacement. That didn't stop Daryn from making this move happen! He was able to source a less preferred vehicle, get it packed, and get a timeline for us to get the remainder of our belongings. Everything was set, he got on the road, planning to arrive in time for a return for Thanksgiving with his family. Of course, due to this being 2020 and so many things going wrong already, the truck had a blowout on the way, and the company took over 9 hours to come repair it! This put his arrival to us on the day before Thanksgiving which meant he would not be able to make it back home to spend his with his family. He didn't let that stop anything though. He got on the road, showed up, unloaded the remainder of our items and completed the job. Daryn never lost his cool, was professional and courteous the entire time. He never complained or tried to come up with excuses for anything. He took responsibility for the job and completed it above our expectations. I would highly recommend Gorilla for any of your local or long distance moving needs. He'll get the job done, has reasonable pricing, and will restore your faith in humanity! Anytime that you move it's always a stressful process. I was so pleased that this was not stressful at all. From the beginning they were in contact with me and set up times, dates, the process, and order. On the moving date they were prompt, quick, professional, and efficient. I'm glad other people had positive experiences with Gorilla, however I cannot recommend anyone bother trying to do business with them. I had to step in at the last minute to get my mom's move planned, she had to be out of her apartment in 2 days. I called and ended up talking for an hour to Daryn, who seemed like a legitimately nice and caring guy who assured me he and his guys would get the move done. He said he'd come out the next day to survey how much stuff she had so he could plan what time they would start the following morning. He even texted images of his driver's license, insurance, and a recommendation letter to me. I asked if he wanted a deposit for booking the move, and he said no we'd settle up on the move day. So I went out to her apartment the next day and was waiting there during the window of time he said he'd arrive. The window came and went, so I texted him asking if he was still planning to come do the survey. Waited awhile, no response. So I try calling him, his phone went straight to voicemail. I tried several times over the next couple hours and it went straight to voicemail every time, like his phone was off or he blocked my number. And then of course I heard nothing from him on the move day. I don't see what the point was in making me feel secure that this stressful, last minute move was actually going to get pulled off. He never responded to my text or reached out with a reason why he was a no-show, so I can only assume the reason was not due to an emergency situation. A friend rented this company to pack his stuff, load a truck and unload the truck into his storage unit, while he was out of town. Two guys did all that, then another one from the office came and cleaned the place. And made sure everyhing was all out. I was there to make sure everything got done, while my friend was out of town for work. These guys did an amazing job. Their price is reasonable, they are honest hardworkers. And very friendly. It's a shame Yelp only allows you to give vendors a max of 5 stars because I would literally give Gorilla Moving Company all the stars in the night sky if I could! I've used Daryn and his guys a couple of times now, and I cannot say enough fantastic things about every single one of them as individuals, and as a team. The level of efficiency in tackling the task(s) at hand is almost super-human. And when met with unexpected obstacles, as any move is bound to have, Daryn, Alfredo, and the rest of the guys are so incredibly acrobatic with their problem-solving skills. Like there are some MacGyver-type ingenuity involved here. But because they also do a lot of strategizing ahead of every move, the amount of unexpected obstacles always becomes diminished to a minimum. Daryn, Alfredo and the rest of his team were absolutely amazing! I have used them twice and would suggest anyone who ever needs movers to use GORILLA MOVING COMPANY! First, they moved me into an apartment and although I had more stuff than expected and it took longer than estimated the cost did not change and it was so affordable. The stress of moving is one thing, but when you have trustworthy, honest, and good movers you have nothing to worry about! From setting up everything, to wrapping and unwrapping my fragile items and furniture not 1 thing was scratched or broken. After they moved me, my parents were so happy by how great they were, the gentleman ended up moving my parents who were down sizing from a very large home to a more moderate home in the desert. The details of wrapping and organizing the truck was impeccable. Midway through the load up another truck was needed and with no complaints one of the crew members drove out to pick up another truck and brought it back to load up. My parents had so much stuff that they had to use every crevice in the truck which included pots and plants being placed sideways to make my mother happy that things were not left. There was never a complaint out of any of the guys mouths and they were so friendly with a smile on their face the entire time. All of them were very professional and easy going. They gentleman adapted to numerous changes that were taking place and that is what made it such a fantastic experience. The Gorilla Team are the chest-pounding Kings of the Urban Jungle. Their work ethic, speed, attention to detail, and professionalism was amazing during my move. I barely lifted a finger -- only to identify Good Will items and toss remaining trash. And yes, they obliged a Good Will stop along the way and graciously hauled a mattress and a couple other big items in for donation. They also figured out how to dismantle a 9 foot, 3 shelve console to get into my 3rd story abode, and quickly reassembled it on the spot. They will wait patiently and move things into final position, accommodating last minute requests to try various spots for big pieces. Boxes were well marked, organized by room, and every belonging was meticulously packed with care -- actually these guys took better care of my stuff than I would've! In terms of price point, what a deal-- you'll get a range quote, and though my job ran long, Daryn stuck to the high end of the quote. We just bought a new home, and had to deal with an incredibly stressful escrow. Our move date literally changed 8 times, and we had to call and reschedule each time. Daryn was not only kind and understanding, but he even offered to advise us on a different company to use if they weren't available on our final move day. I've been meaning to write a review for some time but i've been in various stages of moving, all with Gorilla Moving Company. I don't even know where to begin. I referred to them by a friend who has used them multiple times and now I know why. Daryn was so communicative and thorough from the get go. He was completely transparent and worked with us on all aspects. We were moving out of our condo and needed work done, but needed to move into temporary housing for just a few weeks while that was happening. So, we needed our furniture packed up and protected, but not moved as we had nowhere to move it. Daryn put me in touch with Alfredo who made sure he had all the information needed for that day. He came and took pictures of everything prior, so they would know exactly what was needed. Packing day came and Alfredo and his team arrived on time to pack everything up. I can't tell you how efficient, fast and responsible they were. Not to mention, the nicest guys. Then a few weeks later, we needed them to come back and move all of our stuff to our short term apartment, which again they did seamlessly. Then a few months later, after we found a house to buy, we needed to move again. It was last minute, but Daryn and Alfredo came to the rescue again and helped us move into our new home. Moving is so stressful, but their team of guys make it easy. They are seriously the best movers I've ever used. I can't say enough about their professionalism, efficiency, and reliability.
