My mother was a hoarder. It's hard to explain just how much stuff she had. How much of it piled up over the years, to the point that after she passed, my father and I could not parse, much less sort, the sheer amount of stuff. Recently, we moved from the house we'd been in for 15 years to a new place. We were downsizing to a bigger house - we were piling up things that needed to go faster than we could make room to pack the stuff we were going to take with us. A bit of research, and we found Gorilla Junk. Up front pricing, and an online booking discount. We scheduled, and they came on a Thursday, and filled their truck. Then again that Sunday. And again a couple of weeks later to get the last of the trash in the old house. Nelson was communicative, on time, and willing to come out the same day we called him when we got overwhelmed. Great service, great attitude, and amazing willingness to help. Best of all? No judgment for the unbelievable amount of junk we had sitting around. Tons of it. Literally. I called to get an estimate for how much it would cost to remove a bunch of stuff previous owners left under a deck in our backyard. They said they would provide a free estimate and they set up a time to come out on Wednesday. They said they would be at the house between 2-4pm and would give me a 30-minute heads up. They never called. I called them at 3:30pm to see if they were still planning on coming out. The guy who answered had no idea what I was talking about. Apparently they don't write this stuff down or use computers to schedule things? He asked me to give him a few minutes to call the driver and get back to me. He called me back and said that their truck broke down. If that were true, I'd like to think they would call and let me know. He asked me if they could come out "sometime later tonight" and I just said "no, thanks". I'm hoping I can find a company that can handle picking up a phone so that I don't rearrange my work schedule for no reason. read more

They did a good job. Hauled and cleaned up afterwards. The only thing I didn't like about them is that they didn't mention that tax is not inculded on the pricing when they quoted me and even when they left. After their work they asked me to pay them about $274(after intrnet booking discount of $25) which was fine. I didn't have cash at that time and I said I would like to pay with a credit card. Then they said that they will give me a phone call later to get the credit card information and it will be $274 to be charged. When they called me later, all of sudden they added tax and it became about $296. I didn't expect it because they never mentioned that they didn't add tax even the last minute. But other than that their work was fine. read more

I thought they were very honest and had reasonable pricing. They also showed up exactly on time and called half an hour before they arrived. I would have given them 5 stars but I am a bit disappointed that they couldn't remove the concrete that I had set out because it's too heavy. It IS extremely heavy (part of a walkway that was next to my driveway), but I wish I had known they would have an issue beforehand, since their website says they do haul away concrete. They would have accepted it if I had broken it up into smaller pieces, but I didn't have the time (nor the inclination) to do that. But other than that, they did a great job, and I like how they make a concerted effort to recycle and donate the items they pick up. read more

We hired Gorrila Junk to remove an old shed. They rescheduled the time to remove it because they had an opening and ended up getting to our house around 5pm. They removed the shed pretty quickly but because of the time they arrived, it got dark and they did not bring any lighting. There was a window in the shed, which broke, when they tore it down and left a lot of glass on the ground. Because they had no lighting with them , they didn't clean up all of the glass. The next day my dog cut her paw on the left over glass. I informed them of the left over glass when they called to charge me and though they did show concern about my dog , they answered that they couldn't clean it all up because it was dark. I don't really see this an acceptable excuse. They also did not offer to come over to clean up the glass. I ended up having to clean up the rest of the glass. UPDATE: The latest response from the owner is blaming me for my poor inspection in the dark with a flash light (skipping over the fact that they brought no lighting of their own) and seems to suggest I was fishing for a discount of which I was not. They came out and hauled away some eyesores that were too large to fit into my car. They were prompt, courteous, and gave me a great deal. Even though I didn't have a lot of stuff, they still agreed to do the job. They had it all out of my yard and into the truck in about 15 minutes! read more

After setting up an appointment, I got a call back the very same day. They showed up 10 minutes early on the day of the appointment. They were very professional and friendly. Absolutely fantastic service! Prompt, quick, great communication. As they loaded they updated me about the cost so I could decide if I should have them take more or not. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. I called today around 3pm and Nelson said they were able to make it around 6. Wow - I was shocked they could come the same day. They showed up on time, got a full load done so quickly, and were so polite and professional. We were charged fairly, at 3/4 full. I have no complaints whatsoever. We were thinking about renting a 20 yard dumpster and my husband was going to have to fill it alone which would have taken him several hours, and probably would have spanned a couple days. We ended up paying about the same amount to have Gorilla Junk Removal come load it for us and haul it away. No dumpster sitting there for days, no having to call back and schedule a dumpster haul away, no breaking the back lifting things ourselves. It doesn't get better than this. Prices are very competitive. I shopped around and didn't find anyone cheaper. I will definitely use them again in the future, and will recommend them to everyone. read more
