We have been buying our Fraser Firs from Gore's for the last three or four years and have been happy with the quality of the trees and their assistance securing the tree to the top of the car. However, this year they said they could assist putting the tree on top of the car but would not tie it down. They cited liability issues as the reason. It's because of this lack of service that I gave them three stars. I won't be returning to this business again. read more

We are always on the search for the best price of real Christmas trees, preferably Fraser fir. And we found some better prices here this year!!! They also have a GREAT variety of types of trees... 7 to be exact: scotch pine, blue spruce, white pine, Douglas fir, Fraser fir, and more... and also tree stands, wreaths, roping, and bundles of greenery. They also have some very tall options, trees range from 5 to 19 feet tall... but we were a little bummed to see only find Fraser firs at about 6 foot and shorter. Family owned and operated, Gore Christmas trees were started by Jim Gore Sr. in the late 1950s. What started as a hobby has now become one of Indianapolis's favorite Christmas tree lots. Slight down side: only cash or check. Friendly staff who quickly helped us prep our selected tree... but we did pull it out ourselves, as we couldn't find anyone available to pull it for us. They were mostly busy prepping trees to move to vehicles. And yes, they carried it to our vehicle for us! read more

Our second year coming to Gore's for our Christmas tree! We have really been so happy with the service and selection they offer on the lot. The trees are beautiful and with many different varieties and heights it's easy to find something to fit your home. We always enjoy walking among the trees and looking at each to inspect what will fit our home. We always end up bouncing between a few a debating which we like best. There are plenty of workers around to help you pull the trees out to have a better look and measure them to let you know the height. Once you make your selection they carry it to the front to give your tree a base trim, full shake down, and netted for a safe drive home. Once you get everything settled with the tree you head inside to pay and get your candy canes! They have a selection of garland and wreathes for purchase. It is cash or check only, so plan ahead!! When you head back out and staff person is ready to help tie your tree to your car for you. They are always so nice and do a great job of securing it down. We love Gore's and we look forward to their announcement of their new location for next year. But for now, they are in the Broad Ripple/Glendale area and as someone who live on the west side of town I can attest, they are worth the drive! read more

Maybe it's because this was my first ever live Christmas tree, but Gore's was top notch! We called the evening before Thanksgiving and Jimmy Gore answered the phone- "No we're not officially open, but we will be here until midnight, so come on over!". I'm sure they had a million things to do, but upon arrival, Mr. Gore's son showed us around and explained the differences in all the trees. When we had finally picked the winner and posed for that must-have photo op, they cut off the bottom of the tree just a hair thicker than usual so I could make it into an ornament. They bundled little Sprucey up and placed her snug on top of our car. I could pick a tree nearly anywhere, but I'm sure we will be back because how family oriented and friendly Gore's is. Trees ranged from 30-65. Cash or check only! P.s. I learned that because only certain trees grow well in Indiana, many of the trees are brought from different tree growers around the US. The Gore's still own their farm, but the trees no longer come directly from there. read more

This was our first year getting our tree at Gore's. They were great. I loved the set up & Christmas feel. The employees were great. They let my little one help shake the tree and get it ready to take home. They had candy canes for the boys. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. Cute local and convenient alternative to going to a tree farm. The vibe and decor feels festive. The prices are unbeatable, especially for Fraser fur which is our go-to. We ultimately didn't end up getting our tree here because we wanted something bigger. The Fraser furs were all under 6 feet. Delight to disaster. Happened upon this tree stand last year and thought we'd get all future Christmas trees there. Good selection, good price, friendly service. Our visit this year was a complete train wreck. We found the perfect tree in literally 1 minute. Thank goodness, because our baby was tired and we needed to get home. One of the guys put my name tag on the trunk and sat it in line to get cut and drilled. Went in to pay and came out to find my name tag on a different tree! Tried to get someone to figure out what's going on and they act like I'm a dummy because I said we had a fir but they're looking at the tree my tag is on and noting it's a pine - EXACTLY, boys! I then stood and watched as they loaded OUR tree into the car of another customer, who they knew by name. At this point, it felt like shenanigans. Tried to get them to stop the guy but they just let him drive off with our tree. So now we have to start from square one and settle on a tree we don't want while our baby gets fussier and cries because it takes an extra 25 minutes. NO apology from the owner, who I spoke to, and not a mention of a discount, despite how badly they messed up. Top it off, they drilled the stand hole at an angle, and the tree stopped drinking water after 3 days. So here we are, a week away from Christmas Eve, with a dead, sad excuse for a tree. Never going back to this clown show again. read more

If you've lived around the Broad Ripple/Glendale area for awhile, then you're likely familiar with the Gore's Christmas Tree lot that opens up every year right after the Thanksgiving weekend. In my recent memory, the lot has been located at 2815 East 62nd Street on the Northeast Corner of Glendale Town Center and right on the lot of what is now Soma Church. Now then, if you know Jehovah's Witnesses then you also know I'm a late comer to the whole Christmas thing having been raised a JW and having never really gotten into the whole holiday season until later in life. In fact, it was only a couple years ago, and I'm in my 40's, that I had my first "real" tree, a 4' adorable little thing that was easy for me to manage with my wheelchair. This year, likely the result of a couple serious losses this year, I REALLY wanted a real tree. I was all prepared to return to my previous lot when I received a call from Jimmy Gore himself stating that a tree had been donated in my honor due to some recent charity work I had done - They wanted me to come out and pick out the tree, then they would deliver it, set it up, then pick it up for disposal once the Christmas season was over. I'll admit it. I was excited. They weren't due to be actually open for a few more days, so we agreed that I would likely stop in Thanksgiving weekend and pick out the tree. I called Jimmy when I was in the area and stopped in. Now then, I must admit that it was quite obvious from point one that these were all bigger and nicer trees than I was dealing with at my previous Christmas tree lot. While I was perfectly happy with those, it was difficult given my tendency to be fiscally responsible to find a tree that I considered reasonably priced. After all, it was being donated and I certainly wanted to respect the donor. I settled on a 6' Frasier Fir, primarily because I love the smell of trees and I doubt anything much taller would fit in my rather short little house. He took my delivery information and informed me I was second in line for delivery and gave me a time frame in which I could expect delivery. While I'll admit it seemed a bit slow, he delivered within that time frame and delivery was absolutely top notch so I'm not about to knock off a star for that. He and an assistant delivered the tree and set it up. They took a photo, though I haven't seen the photo on their Facebook page (I'm guessing my house was too dark for a reasonable photo). I will call them after the Christmas season and they will pick up the tree and dispose of it - this is another awesome option, though I will say I'm not sure how much this service is costing since someone else is picking up the cost. The Christmas Tree prices at Gore's are higher than most retail outlets I've seen and they were about 20-25% higher than the last Christmas Tree lot I purchased from last year. Additionally, they focus on at least 5' trees and up with most trees I saw being in the 6' - 8' range. Prices seemed to start at about $35 and go upward according to height and type of tree. These are reasonable prices for high quality trees, but those on a budget may find it challenging. Of course, delivery does cost extra and they also offer wreaths and stands. A quick perusal of Gore's Facebook page, where they also post photos of many of the trees they've sold and set up in homes, will tell you that their clientele tends to be middle-to-upper income families. That said, they came into my decidedly more humble home and were respectful, helpful, and incredibly friendly. Jimmy Gore seemed genuinely pleased to be delivering and setting up a "donated" tree. Each year, I'll admit I look forward to seeing Gore's pop up in the neighborhood. They seem to appreciate the "tradition" of buying a Christmas tree and their Facebook page really celebrates that quite a bit (though their website could use some help). I really can't tell you how much my Christmas tree has lifted my holiday spirits this year and Gore's has provided a high quality tree and top notch service to make the entire experience a whole lot easier. read more

I highly recommend Gore's if you're looking for a high quality Christmas tree. Jimmy Gore introduced himself and helped my wife and I find a great tree. When we got it home it ended up being too small and we were prepared to live with it. We went back later that day to pickup a wreath and Jimmy offered to take the tree back if we wanted a bigger one. He even picked it up from our house on his way home. Unbelievable customer service that you rarely find these days. read more
