I've driven by this place several times at 6am on the way to work. I finally stopped in and WOW. I ordered two Gorditas. One with egg/red sauce; another with ground beef/green sauce. These are like little pockets stuffed with hot (heated, not spicy) ingredients. Just an amazingly good flavor! And SO many flavors/stuffings to choose from! I'm definitely coming back. Oh - why only 4 stars? While I ordered two Gorditas, they brought out a plate that included rice and beans to my table. I started munching away (enjoying the flavor) - but then an employee came over with a plate of two Gorditas sans the rice/beans and apologized for having originally given me the wrong order (!). So I got my original order too (!). Still- do I like it? HECK YEAH! Will I return? HECK YEAH! Nice going, Gordillas - the first mexican restaurant I've gone to in Chicagoland after moving here from LA that I really want to return to! It's THAT good.

It's like a fast food restaurant. You order at the counter then they bring your food to your table. I had the steak Gorditas. Very tasty especially with a price of $3.49!!! Hubby had the steak taco dinner. I tasted his rice and beans. Very tasty. Agua de Jamaica was refreshing. Service is great. If you're in the area check them out.

I was on my way home from work and spotted this place out the corner of my eye. I pulled up in the parking lot excited hoping to order some delicious food. Again, as you know Mexican Food is one of my favorite foods. I was looking up at the menu trying to decide on what could I ordered different from my original meal. The young lady behind the register was very nice and patient with me while I decide what I wanted to ordered. Finally, I decided to ordered the steak Gordita with a side of rice. The food looked so delicious I couldn't wait to dig right into it. Bummer I was very disappointed with my meal. The Gordita was tasteless and the rice was very salty. I had to throw away the rice the salt was very overpowering. I must say the restaurant was very clean and impressive. I was just hoping for some good food and I was very disappointed. The customer service was nice, price were ok but the food could use some upgrade.

I can't rate them on their service since I did takeout, and ordered my order over the phone. They also have a drive thru which is also convenient. I ordered their carne Asada quesadilla, and two groditas. We ordered their chicharron en salsa verde and a desebrada Gordita. Their carne Asada quesadilla was very greasy, and didn't taste all that great either. Definitely not high quality meat being used here. However it was very cheesy, probably the reason why it was too greasy. I do plan on returning and trying out maybe their burritos and of course more of their gorditas, but I will most likely be skipping their quesadillas next time. Their chicharron en salsa verde was very tasty. It's basically pork rinds in a salsa verde. It tastes almost identical to what we make at home. On their menu, they have a chili next to it indicating that it's spicy, however it wasn't spicy at all. On the other hand, their desebrada, shredded beef with green sauce had the same chili next to it, and it was freaking spicy. It was also mixed with potatoes and tasted very good. They have 16 different gorditas. I'll be back to try a few more of their menu.

We ordered a taco and a Gordita and asked for all the included toppings and they just gave us meat and limes...? The cost for 1 taco and Gordita was $6 and not worth the price for what we got.

The food is average, the prices are outrageous and the service is similar. They charged $8.49 for this quesadilla with poblano peppers. Not a good deal at all.

I had Gordillas in the city and it was so good! Pulling up directions to drive back the next day I notice they had a 2nd location that was closer home and figure I'll take the chance on this location. Burritos, Gorditas, Quesadillas are your main choices. With about 25+ filling options that range from Steak, Barbacoa, Ground Beef w/Red sauce just to name a few (Not 100% sure if Gordillas had tacos from opening day based on other reviews wanting more variety, but something that can be picked, but not the main focus on the menu.) Your best option is to eat in. Dine in and your treated to a salsa bar where you can add chips and about 6 different sauces as well as fresh ingredients Pros: Food is hot right of the grill/flattop. Negative: Portions are smaller vs the Chicago location. I was FULL couldn't finish the last few bites at the Chicago location but literally the exact same meal at the suburban location...I was full lol, but I finished ever bite. Thought this Gordullas would be an exact carbon copy of the one in the city. I'll say it's about 92% I notice right away that they didn't have the home-made lemonade, but the minute made lemonade instead and not the same style hot peppers. Small items but it's the little things that make people come back.

a hand holding a bag of tortilla

Ok, I was hungry for Mexican food. A SoCal transplant to Chicagoland, I gotta say I was missin' it…read more So, as hub-hub was out of town on family business, I headed over on a windy Saturday night for some grub! I was greeted immediately and enjoyed the ambience. A bit old, but still nice. It even looked like they had an windowed view spot where we could see....what... the tortillas, maybe, being made? A good sign. I was sat in a very lonely spot, at the far backside of the restaurant on the only 2-person table I saw. Oh, wonderful. It appeared the table hadn't been completely wiped clean, so I asked a busboy to wipe it down - he very promptly complied- nice. Ok- as the menus came, so did the tortilla chips and homemade salsa- wow. The chips were THICK and the sauce was really good- albeit a bit spicy (not a crime!). The waitress came over, introduced herself, and I promptly ordered their special drink- the "Mexican Mai-Tai". Gotta say it was good! I ordered off their special menu- enchiladas tomatillo with pollo (chicken). I swear, less than 2 minutes later came a small bowl of soup (not expected, but ok) - then less than 5 minutes after ordering the main? Came the main! The beans and rice were nice; it came with a bit of shredded lettuce- and the 3 enchiladas were not bad. At all. Definitely satisfied my craving for Mexican food! Why the demerits? The holy grail of any restaurant is always the service. Once I completed the mains, the busboy quickly took the dishes off the table. And then I waited. And waited. I flagged down a busboy and asked for my check- he said he'd flag down my waitress. And then I waited. After 15 minutes, I bagged it. I put on my jacket and went to the host desk and complained. Though I was able to pay at the front desk, why did I have to wait? What was so important on a not-so-busy Saturday night that meant I had to wait for my bill? Just awful, La Hacienda. I don't mind waiting a few minutes (most restaurants have this awful habit of making diners wait too long for their bills anyway, right?). But 15 minutes? And even after I pointed this out I still waited to no avail? No diner should ever be asked to wait until they "got around to it". Would I come again? Naw. Sorry, but even though the early part of the meal was great and I was speed-served the food? The finish killed it for me.
