What a gorgeous wedding venue! In my lifetime I've been to about 30 weddings and this by far was…read moreone of the top locations! Granted you need to hope for good weather, but my cousin was a very lucky lady in late September. I liked how big the property was - plenty of room for people to spread out, enjoy their food, or be on the dance floor. The sunset over the water was epic! We even saw bald eagles flying & fishing off shore. This location is so picturesque (heck even the bathroom was cute for selfies). The bride and her parents were blown away by the overnight accommodations too! I saw pics with the view of the infinity pool. Staff was wonderful, everything was spotless clean, and best of all the crowd & bride and groom had an awesome time!

We stayed at this absolutely beautiful Inn. We had to change rooms due to our own mishap. However,…read moreboth rooms were spacious and lovely with Panobscot Bay Views. The grounds, gardens are stunning. Infinity pool is so inviting. So why the rating of a 4? Well for the price of the room I would expect a coffee maker in the room. I did ask and the staff, oh so accommodating, gave me a French Press set up. Good thing I was familiar with it. So I suggest and did suggest they have coffee makers in the rooms. Otherwise you'll need to wait till they serve breakfast at 7:30a. Ladies don't expect a makeup mirror in the bathroom, there isn't one. It's the little things that make your stay. Otherwise, a lovely facility and the staff couldn't be friendlier. Breakfast was delicious.

The five stars goes to the front desk staff of this hotel. Due to a unique set of circumstances, I…read morerequired a hotel in Rockland very late one night and the front office person here was very accommodating. I would return on this basis alone. The rooms were clean and updated and mine had plenty of chairs to sit. There was not much to breakfast (but it may have been due to the virus).

I wouldn't stay here again even if you paid me! Aside from the younger girl working the night…read moreshift, the staff was incredibly rude and seemed to have little to no customer service skills. When I first arrived, my room smelled terrible, like rotting food. I went to the front desk to let them know, and the woman there couldn't have seemed less concerned. I was moved to another room, but it smelled just as bad. I tried to deal with it, but eventually had to ask to be switched again. The third room didn't have the same odor, but instead smelled like it had been doused in cheap air freshener to cover something up. Not exactly a great start. At that point I considered finding another hotel, but it was late and the room itself at least appeared clean. Unfortunately, the noise situation was just as bad. If you plan on sleeping past 6 am, don't count on it. Unless you're on the top floor, you can hear every footstep from the room above you. The floors seem to have virtually no soundproofing, and I heard the guests above me constantly throughout my stay. The location is great, I'll give it that. But honestly, that's the only positive thing I can say about this place. The customer service is awful, the staff is rude, the rooms smell bad, and the lack of soundproofing makes it nearly impossible to relax. Save yourself the headache and stay anywhere else.

250 Main Hotel - Linger by the huge fireplace (perfect during a snowstorm!)

We booked a room at this hotel and went to check in and asked for room change after seeing the…read moreroom. The person at the front desk named Jeremy was extremely rude and we ended up leaving the hotel without staying. Daniel (the other person at the front desk) was nice and much more pleasant to deal with. We do not recommend this hotel as we find the attitude in general being too rude (it is not only the north east attitude, we lived in the northeast for decades. This was way worse). Again though, thanks Daniel for being nice and helping us with our refund. For Jeremy: learn a thing or two about customer relations.

I love a cool boutique hotel--when I can afford them! Taking advantage of off-season prices, I…read morechose 250 Main when I headed up to Rockland for a long weekend toward the end of March. It ended up being one where we had a pretty big storm, and that actually made this hotel an even better place to stay. Basics: great location right downtown (if you look at the map and it looks like it's a bit out of the downtown range, it's not; this is a small town and you can walk from 250 Main to the heart of it within 5 minutes). The hotel itself doesn't have parking, but there's street parking or you can park free in the harbor lot across the street (you may want to check this if you're coming during high season). The welcome vibe is immediately evident not only from the super nice and helpful staff, but because check-in time is also when 250 Main starts its happy hour wine social downstairs, which is perfect! And if you reserve directly with the hotel, you get a complimentary glass of vino. I literally met friendly people from the minute I checked in, and we hung out with a glass of wine for awhile before heading out. You can purchase from a small menu of wine and beer until around midnight, which turned out to be a great thing when the storm rolled in the next night of my stay. With the warm and relaxed vibe, hanging out in the lobby area is part of the experience. My room was a queen room with a small balcony overlooking the harbor--which on their website is described as "small," but it definitely is not! Fantastically comfortable bed (which honestly seemed larger than my own queen at home); big bathroom with an awesome rain shower, heated towel racks, and robes; plenty of space to move around in the room itself, which also had a desk and a little sitting area. Oh, and super high ceilings and HUGE windows. While I neglected to get a pic *inside* the actual room [insert facepalm here], check out the cool views of the snowstorm from the windows and balcony. If you don't want to venture out for breakfast in the morning, there are light options available (croissants, yogurt, fruit, etc.)--with delicious coffee from local Rock City Coffee. Huge points too for keeping a coffee and tea station open in the lobby all day and night. With the term "boutique" being tossed around these days willy-nilly, I'm always thrilled to find a place that lives up to it. 250 Main is definitely worth the splurge!

There are not a lot of places to stay on Mohican Island. But one place that you should definitely…read morescope out is the island in. It has been around for many years. It did change ownership's this year, I met Mike the farmer owner and he was very gracious And I'm sure he ran a great in. The current owners are doing a magnificent job as well. I unfortunately do not know the name of the woman who works the front desk. I am sorry for that because I would like to give her a big shout out. She was most gracious and very helpful every time I had a question. We got two rooms. My friend stayed in room 18 which has its own bath and a queen size bed. It was lovely and it was on a corner so she had two windows. I stayed in room 13 it had two twin beds and a sink in the room but the shower and toilet were across the hall. I've stated other places where you have to share a bathroom and this end was different in that the Bathrooms were assigned and only two guest rooms shared each bathroom. My bathroom was never occupied. I'm not sure anybody was in the room that shared my bathroom but if they were, I never saw them. As you do have to walk across the hall to get to your shared bathroom, guest robes were provided. The bed was comfy. You could open the window and enjoy the island breeze. The room, both my guestroom and the bathroom were very clean. One thing that was surprising given the age of the building and that the hotel was pretty full was that it was quiet. I've never heard anyone outside my room or really any noise at all. There are several small rooms off the lobby, where you can sit and read or just enjoy an intimate conversation. All the furniture looked to be in good shape. Nothing was shabby or worn out. There is a porch out in front of the Inn that overlooks the water. It has rocking chairs on the porch and Adirondack chairs out in the yard. It is lovely. Unfortunately it was a rainy day. The first day we were there, but that didn't deter us from exploring the island. The hotel has a refrigerator where you can place your own bottle of wine or anything you need to put in there. But it is a bit tight so don't expect that you're going to put a lot of food in there. The Inn has a restaurant and I'm going to review that separately. Breakfast was included. I would definitely stay here again if overnighting on Mohegan Island..
