Terrible service. Showed up for my appt and was told it would be no more than 2 hours for my flat repair and multipoint inspection, showed up 2.5 hours later and they were just taking the tire off the car and then told me they had "really bad news" that there was a no way to fix the tire and they had to replace it but didn't have it in stock. Then told me how busy they were and they didn't do the inspection either....but I could come back tomorrow and do it. I sat there for 2.5 hours and they didn't do anything to my car! Terrible service and the manager acted like he was too busy and "too much work hanging over his head to get to Tomorrow". Was told someone would call me the next day when the tire was in, nobody called. When I called them they told me my husband called to make an appt that day at 2 pm for the car to get inspected and the tire put on. I told them that was incorrect my husband never called them to make an appt and they kept telling me that he did. Overall I have been here 3 times and had terrible service and been lied to, I will make sure to spread the word to everyone not to go here. read more

urrggg... Ok, hate to do this BUT.... every time a take one of my cars into a "mass market" tire store they do damage to my rims. This time around I was very specific with the store manager about my nice new rims. He assured me that they have the latest equipment for tire mounting. The problem is guys that they use a crow bar to help put on the tire. That is where the damage begins and ends. So now I have permeant nicks on the aluminum rims. That sucks! So sad. Theis counter person was cool and gave us a deal on 4 tires. Maybe that's part of their sales thing but whatever, we appreciated it. The 1 star is because they over torqued our lugs. I went home right after getting tires to do a brake service and had to stand/stomp on my tire iron to loosen the lugs. I have serviced my own vehicles for 25 years and this was the hardest set of lugs I have ever witnessed. Pieces of metal were crumbling out of the nut. This can bend wheels and warp brake rotors. I went in to give them a heads up, asking for nothing in return and they were in total denial. I even gave them an out, like hey maybe it was a new guy or something and they were like ,"No, we use 120lbs of torque every time"..... Well the spec is 80 lbs and this was way over 120lbs because I weigh 240 and had to stand on the wrench. Whatever dudes, you won't see me again. read more

Came in for a flat tire repair, was told nonchalantly to park over there I don't know what my schedule looks like! There were 4 people working and one empty stall. Parked my car, went inside and the person at the desk said he would need three hours to fix my tire! Clearly they did want my business! Called a small tire shop called Gondez asked if they had time to fix a tire! They said yes! I told them I would come right over! When I arrived they had 3 workers no empty stalls and we're working on two cars when I went back to talk to the mechanic he very nicely said what do u need help with and I told him he said give me 45 min and I will have it done! read more

I've come to this Goodyear a few times over the last 3 years of living in the area and will say today's experience was the first bad one I've had, but; it was bad enough to leave a review unfortunately. I made an appointment online a few days in advance of bringing my car in for an oil change and tire rotation, I often go to Goodyear as they usually have a deal going on the oil changes. I brought my car in about 10 mins before my 2 p.m. appointment. Right away I waited about 15-20 mins just to talk to the desk clerk, there was only one guy working it and three customers (including myself) waiting for him to finish with the customer ahead of us. When they finally wrapped up and I let him know I had a 2 p.m. appointment he told me they were running behind today. I said that was OK but, if was going to be a long wait I'd rather reschedule and come back when it was less busy (I was little miffed at this since I did make an appointment and the customers who make em should probably get their job done before the walk-in customers), he said he could get me out by 3:30, again I wasn't thrilled but I was already there and overdue for the service. I told him fine, but that I really couldn't go too much past that time as I did have somewhere to be a 6 and had a bit of a drive. He said he understood and he'd get me out by 3:30. I stayed and waited (had a book ready and everything). 3:30 rolls around and I looked up to see my car was still in the same spot I had parked in, I figured they couldn't possibly have not worked on it yet and must have just finished and parked it back in the same spot. I waited to get the desk guy's attention (still just the one guy and still about 3-4 people needing assistance) to see if they had wrapped up and while waiting (it's nearly 4 pm now) I see someone come to pull my car into the garage...they hadn't even started to work on it. The desk guy sees my expression and tells me they'll be quick. I told him no, that's OK, tell them not to bother and to just get me keys. If you're that busy don't tell a customer you'll get them out at a specific time and then not even begin to work on their car till almost 30 mins after when you're supposed to be finished with the job. I think at 3 pm (an hour after my appointment time) he should have let me know it wasn't going to happen. Twice I told him I'd rather go then take longer than I had that day and was assured it would be fine. Total waste of time. read more

DON'T GO HERE!!!! They have horrible customer service and then they don't even bother to fix your car. I came in cuz my "Check Engine" light was on. 4 hours later, wondering what was going on with my car, I ended up calling THEM only to find out that they didn't even bother to do a diagnostic on my car and just gave me an oil change. When I asked why they didn't do a diagnostic on my car they told me that the mechanic had left when I brought in the car. Wtf?! Why didn't they say anything? A simple phone call or something would have helped me out. Instead, I wasted an entire day of work and my car still needed service. And they had the gall to charge me for the oil change. This is the worse service ever. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. read more

These guys blatantly ripped me off. I took my Toyota in for an oil change & wiper bade replacement. They charged me for the wipers but did not put them on, which I noticed the next day when it rained. When I returned to have them replace the wiper blades, they begrudgingly changed them without apology. They also did not rotate my tires, as was part of the oil change service (listed as "FREE TIRE ROTATION!" on the invoice). Though the price of oil change was reasonable, I wonder whether they performed the service at all! read more

Hmm-m-m-m perhaps I should give a 5 but the pans by Mike L. and crystal R. were rather scary and soooo recent but the guys here must have been reading their rotten reviews because the service was really decent and the price of my 4 tires ($100ea, rolling out the door, tax included!!) so much better than the $600+ I was quoted elsewhere. I had stopped to get air in my ratty tires and thought I might as well get an estimate. They gave me the $40. discount even though I didn't have the coupon, to boot. I found that my tire pressure sensor was yelling at me for a low tire, and when I noticed what looked like a nail, I called Goodyear to see if they could squeeze me in and fix it. Not only are they open late (7pm!) they could fit me in. I drove in, but trying to find a spot in their teeny-tiny lot was a bit challenging. When I walked in, there were 2 very flustered guys at the counter trying to help out some customers. There were a few people in front on me. About 10 minutes later, I was finally helped. I will not fault them for the slowness though, because an older gentleman customer strode in past the line and demanded to be helped, and another woman complained very loudly that there was no customer shuttles and her dog was at home....sob story. One of the guys working there offered her a ride in his own vehicle - what a nice guy! I give them huge props for dealing with the rude Santa Cruz locals, so thanks guys. By being patient, and being nice, they fixed my car up in under an hour. No nail in my tire, and they didn't charge me for labor even though they checked for other leaks and all was good. I appreciate customer service reps who deal with rude people all day and don't let it phase them. read more

We had an emergency situation involving a flat tire and a departing flight out of sfo early in the morning! JR promptly accommodated us first thing in the morning and we made the flight! I was impressed with their stellar customer service so much so that I brought the truck back in the same day for a check up and to replace a brake valve I'd been ignoring for a while now . They worked with me on the price and did a fantastic job! I'm still giving them 5 stars, even though the job took an extra day to complete and I had to reschedule a class I teach. Don't bother making an appointment on-line. After blocking out 2-3 hours of my time on a Saturday and arranging my plans around my scheduled appointment at Goodyear for a oil/oil filter change and tire rotation for a trip I'm taking starting Monday, I arrived a little early only to be told that "appointments made on-line do not take into account current work flow" so I would have to wait 2 -3 hours before they could even possibly start on my vehicle, which would take another 2-3 hours. If they're going to accept on-line appointments, allowing you to choose when you want the appointment, without a disclaimer that your appointment time actually depends on whatever else they're tasked with that day, then they should state exactly that. Or, they should block out the times they think they'll need. Anyway, I am a very loyal customer and when I find a business I like, I stick with it. I went to the same auto maintenance place for 20 years. I still drive 80 miles to my dentist I've been going to for 20 years even after moving away. Sorry, Goodyear, you will not be my new tire/oil change go to here in Santa Cruz. read more

Whoever said management was horrible here is absolutely spot on. Charles is the manager and has a horrible attitude to his customers. Not only was his attitude horrible but the service was piss poor. He throws my key at me and rushes me out. As i sat there waiting i heard him answer multiple phone calls with a rude attitude. As he spoke to other customers his attitude remained the same - rude and snappy. I feel bad for the mechanics, as they have to follow orders from a man who wouldnt be able to do half of what they do, and instead sits on his a$$ all day taking phone calls and not even greeting those who walk in (which let me state- all customers coming in looked around to see if anyone was there to help them, then had to approach him as he sat in his office ignoring all who came in.) This place was great! We came into the shop because of a hole in our front tire on our way down to Monterey. We were in a rush heading to a bar mitzvah and originally it was going to take a couple hours. We worked with Jim and not only did he rush our tire change so we could make it in time for the bar mitzvah, but he sincerely cared about our experience and made sure we made the best choice cost-wise and safety-wise for our car. I ordered my tires online and set an appointment for a day I would be passing through Capitola 40 miles from my house, but the factory sent the wrong tires. Jim, the manager, sent a guy all the way over the mountains 45 minutes away to get the tires for me and offered me a free oil change for the mishap. Decent place to buy tires however when getting work done BE VERY CAREFUL After 2 other auto repair places told me what my problem was I finally decided to get it fixed before a long drive . I arrived at Goodyear and was told that they wanted to diagnos the problem themselves for 150.00 , I expained over and over Ialready paid that somewhere else and knew what the problem was ( they didn't like that ) so then Iwas told that " oh well we'llfix what you want but that might not fix problem " While waiting I walked to the Auto parts store down the street where they were ordering my part . Heard the parts manager say the part was 100.00 / however GoodYear wanted to chage me 250.00 I suppose they must charge for having to go get the part ...oh wait it was a block away . After picking up the car still was acting up and took it to another shop to check on there work and was told it was replaced however not correctly thus making the car still run poorly . 2nd shop fixed for free and took 10 min they let me know it was put on that way most likely so I would go back and pay them for 1/2 labor at 114.00 an hour . *****AVOID ***** read more

Right before Christmas I took my car for an oil change. I knew my tires were bad but I really didn't want to have an extra expense in my life. JR pointed this fact out and was very adamant that I not drive around with them. I drive the 17 Four to five days a week for work.. And he just gently encouraged that I replace them. Finally I broke down, applied for their credit, and put 4 new shoes on Blu (I have a Rio.. Get the reference??) Anyway.. 4 days later I was on my way to the bay on the 17, I had to work, then pick my daughter up at the airport. It had been raining and the roads were wet. I came around a blind turn and there was a 2 car accident blocking the hwy. I slammed on my breaks and stopped feet away from colliding with the other vehicles. All I could do was silently thank JR for being my guardian angel! If I had not replaced my tires, it could have been a 3 car accident. This is the only place in the Santa Cruz area I could find. Went in at 9:00 AM, Derek helped me out and was very polite and professional. It's now 9:12 and they're already done; quick work and great service! He also informed me that my tires were in pretty bad shape but didn't try to up sell me, just let me know and told me that they had tires for $50 apiece, which isn't bad for brand new tires. I usually don't write reviews, however I felt compelled to write this review due to the excellent service and pricing I received during a recent visit to this store. I came in with a flat (spare on the car) tire on my BMW due to a serious impact with a pothole. They did not try to up-sell me "anything" and gave me such a great price on the tire replacement, that I decided to have them replace the others. They quickly replaced the tires and had me out of there in no time flat (pardon the pun). I ended up having to reschedule my appointment.....there was no apology or any compensation for my troubles , this didn't make me happy..... so I decided to go to jiffy lube since they offered a $10.00 internet promo....I was in and out without an appointment within a half hour. Just an update on my previous review. I needed a tire pressure check and oil change. They were busy when I stopped to ask about appts (I was running errands right by there). Considering TWO auto repair/oil change shops have recently closed with no notice, I figured I better get my appt time! I showed up after 5 on a Monday to inquire about an appt. They kindly told me to stop back by at 0800 the following day. I did. They honored a coupon price I had recently recycled, and my car was done in 2 hours! The only weird thing was I noticed my mileage was different than when I dropped it off (and the gas was lower?). I'm assuming I had memory failure, no tire guy would wish to drive my little car. There was unhappy energy at the front desk (2 people, very nice but clearly stressed!). The antiquated software system (could still be DOS!) would make ANY office manager unhappy, IMO. LOL The office manager from my previous visits was no longer there. The weird energy had NO EFFECT on the service (as far as I can tell, there's new oil in the car, lol). I would go 5 stars AGAIN if the front desk had a more friendly energy, but I can't control the feelings in the world. Yes, I realize this is a weird review. LOL read more

Hate to pile on, but you need to know this. Don't go to this place. Wish I would have read the recent reviews before walking in. I've had good service in the past, but this store is in disarray at present, as my visit and most of the recent reviews show. 3:30pm on Saturday, I had the wheel off my 2017 Mustang in the back of my SUV, looking for a place to fix puncture. Drove to Big O, closed. Drove to Firestone, waited for 10 mins before the counter person informed me that they didn't have anybody that could fix a flat. Bit my lip, went to the car and looked for any tire store that could help. Lloyd's, close. Wheel Works, no time. Costco, no more appts for the day. Honestly, I didn't think it would be this hard to fix a flat. Goodyear answered and said they could do it before they closed at 6pm, so I drove right there and dropped off the wheel/tire and gave all my information. Came back at 5:30pm, waited for someone to take a look and he came back after 10 mins and informed me that the technician had put a big hole in the side of the tire while attempting to break the bead. My chin dropped, as this 19" Pirelli is a $200+ tire, with half it's life left. He then said, they could get a new tire on Monday (it was Saturday). Still a little shocked, I asked if they could look for one sooner, since they were open Sunday and because I work in San Jose, so getting back there Monday before 6pm would be difficult. He was slightly incredulous and said the tire warehouses aren't open on Sunday. I said it would be a little inconvenient to get there on Monday due to working over the hill and he responded with, "You're getting a new tire," now almost like I caused this problem for him by bringing my tire in to get fixed. In fact during the next couple of minutes, he repeated, "You're getting a new tire," at least three more times, again like I was so lucky and putting him out. Without anything more to do or say, I left. Monday afternoon, left work early to jam over the hill and collect my tire/wheel. Got to the shop and I was the second of three people that needed help (along with another person waiting), but no one at the counter. There was an employee getting coffee that didn't say anything and another tech that darted in from the service door and slapped some paperwork on the counter. After 7-10 minutes a guy emerged from the service door, looked up and said, "Welcome to my craziness (or something like that)." He called the first guy up, that he had was apparently already helping and said, "Ok, so it's definitely our fault so once we determine the extent of the problem, we'll let you know and it will be no charge." There was a lot of back and forth about why the car wasn't running and what may or may not be needed, but counterman repeated many times, it's definitely our issue. He finished with this guy after about 15 minutes, then dialed the phone and was on hold for another 5 minutes. During this time the only acknowledgement we got was another, "Welcome to my craziness." Finally it was my turn (the poor lady behind me had to wait well over a 1/2 hour just to talk to him), and all I needed to do was pick up my tire/wheel. But the guy, who was very nice, was super disheveled and clearly overwhelmed. It took him several minutes and multiple attempts to find my info and then bring it up on the screen to print something for me to sign. Then, with the other person waiting, he wanted to show me the messed up tire, which had a 3" gash in the sidewall near the tread, at least an inch higher than they should have set the bead breaker. Then I grabbed the wheel and left. I gave them an extra 1/2 star for being the only shop to be open and work on the flat after 4pm and another 1/2 star for replacing the tire, which they should anyway. Of course how I have 3 tires with 9500 miles and 1 with zero miles. Bottom line is they are disorganized, understaffed and clearly not well trained. They need better management and training. Do not trust them to work on your car. read more

My truck has been in the shop for over 24 hours now. I came in to get my brakes fixed and they couldn't order the needed part until monday so I told them to just put it back together. They broke a spring trying to put it back together so I had to leave it in the shop over night and they said it would be done by 11 today. It's now 4 o'clock and they have barely touched my car. We've spent the entire weekend here... not impressed. Honestly don't come here. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change a week in advance, went out of town for a couple days and rushed back in time to make my apppintment. Come to find out when I get there they could not change my oil because they didn't have a place to put my used oil. It would have been nice if they would have called or sent an email to let me know that they could not keep my appointment, it would have been expected on my part to contact them if I could not keep it. It's just common courtesy and good customer service, which I just Goodyear does not have. I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I came here to get my car inspected because I was planning a 4000 mile road trip through the Grand canyon and Sierras. The steering wheel was wobbly, the mechanic told me I needed new rear brake pads, so I got them replaced. Halfway through the road trip, the steering became erratic so I took my car into Greulich's in Phoenix. The mechanic there told me all 4 rotors were shot, and the rear brake pads had become useless. I wasted time and money at Goodyear. Why didn't they just tell me my rotors were warped, they could have gotten my business and saved me from a potentially dangerous situation, through mountains with no brakes. I will not go to goodyear for any repairs again. read more

On my way home thru the rain last weekend I realized my wife Tundra's tires sucked. I stopped by chance to see if they could put some new shoes on her truck.
