Very poor service! I went in with a flat tire and I asked them to give me a quote for my breaks to be replaced. Took them extremely long to give me the quote and they finally called me 15 min before they are closed. The quote was outrageous. $829!! For breaks!!! Rip off for sure. I went and paid $160 somewhere else. They were rude when I said I didn't want to pay the $829. They also just threw my spare in the trunk and didn't screw it in and it was upside down. read more

At first I almost avoided this tire shop as it's yelp rating was so low. But since they were able to take me in immediately, I decided to give them a try. I am glad I did. They currently are under new management and the service turned out to be excellent. Not only that, even though I showed up 45 minutes before closing, the manager took pity on me and changed my tires and did a front end alignment even though it pushed them past closing time. So, don't let the low score dissuade you from going to this shop. Their service is on a definite up tick from what I experienced. read more

Shady. Truck was serviced less than a month ago and they said we will need brakes soon as we had about 30% left. The brake fluid light came on, so my wife dropped it of to have them check the fluid. These guys tried to sell my wife the full boat. Breaks, calipers rotors, everything! Having never taken my vehicle here I decided to take it to a mechanic I trust and get a second opinion. He said the same thing as the other place. Calipers look good, pads have about 20k left on them and we will likely need new rotors. I would have spent 1600 vs 600. Screw this place. Just looking to make the quick buck. read more

I had a slow flat tire (required air every few miles) and called around. Goodyear were able to see me on a timeframe that worked for me. On arrival, I went into the reception area - it was spotless, well laid out for social distancing, everyone masked, hand sanitizer available etc. Chad came and looked at the tire and unfortunately it wasn't repairable and the other tires were close to needing to be replaced anyway. But..they didn't have the right tires in stock. Darn. As I was unable to drive anywhere, Chad found a single discontinued tire that he could sell me for a very reasonable price to allow me to get back on the road and started a search to see if he could find at least one other so that when I do new tires, we can try to get matching pairs. They were able to put the new tire on it half the time they told me it would take. So, awesome customer service and problem solving and definitely will be back. read more

I came here to get to an oil change many times and normally have been pretty happy with their service. However, today before walking in I took a big fall in their parking lot, I told the guy, your sidewalk is really uneven, I took a really hard fall. His response was "oh yeah, we've been asking the landlord to fix that" while I was waiting for car to be ready, I pulled up my jeans and notice one knee was especially bruised and swollen. I asked for ice and their response was "we don't have any, maybe the closest place might be target." seriously like I'm going to limp over just to bring ice back. They suggested, I get my brakes and tires done, sorry taking my business elsewhere. Never coming back again. It's embarrassing and painful to take a fall and to be so dismissed, they lost a customer, where if they had some a bit sympathy and some ice, they could of kept me as a customer. read more

Booked an appt here for a full synthetic oil change via Openbay for the price that was quoted 1 week in advance. Came in and dropped off the car early morning on time and was told it should be ready in roughly 2 hours. 4 hours later I get a call telling me that the cost would be over $50 dollars more than the original quote! Reason being that the car needed "European" full synthetic oil. If this was the case, then why was this not originally quoted when all the car information was already there from the original appointment? As original estimate was not honored, picked it up without getting change done. Unfortunately a waste of time and gas going here. read more

Brought my car to get it checked expecting great service. I was willing to pay for what was needed but later realized that the 2 guys who worked on my car were not like Jake and I believe they took advantage by altering the price and finding more problems than what was there. Jake is the only mechanic who's trustworthy and very professional. But he's very busy and can't expect him to work on your car. That's understandable but not when you expect great service from the business as I got from Jake. The other 2 employees seen to be newer and I think weren't local..maybe from Salinas but not sure. If it was Jake who Is well respected this post would've gotten 5 stars. Strange that the times I went in I witnessed angry customers talking to the receptionists about the service they got. That should've been a warning the first time I brought my car here. Still true that it's hard to find a good but honest mechanic or place where mechanics and receptions have integrity. read more

Made an online appointment to get a couple things looked at on my car and also an overall maint check. One important thing to note: for whatever reason, this goodyear claims they are unable to see the owner notes that customers input when making their appointment. This caused all kinds of miscommunication on the problems I wanted addressed with my car. Not only did they not even check the issues that I verbally asked them to check (front desk added notes to the WO which obviously evaporated into the ether). I had my phone readily available and answered both times that they called (one to reccomend an alignment and one to pick up my car). At the time of both calls, I asked for a status on the two problems thay I orginally brought the car in for (brake light dimming when lights were running and steering wheel clicking).... They assured me that they were being looked at by the mechanic, blah blah. I come to pick up the car and find out that both issues I brought the car in for were not even looked at. So it took 6 hours to do a car alignment with a pre-made appointment?! Front desk seemed somewhat appologetic, but they were responsible for the shit show today. They had the nerve to ask me to come back for them to "look" at the issue. Fuck that, Im going to find someone that can resolve the issues!! I used them for convenience, but regret choosing them. Probly an ok place to get regular maint stuff done, but find a real mechanic to get your car fixed. Overall worst experience I've had at a goodyear and I've used them across multiple states for years. Proceed at your own risk. read more

Lifesavers. We returned to our car late Saturday night while on vacation to find a flat tire. My husband put on the spare and we made it back to the hotel for the night. Woke up the next morning and found only 2 tire places within 15 miles of us that are open on a Sunday. Having had trouble the last time I needed new tires due to the size and type of tire I was worried we weren't going to find a place with our tire in stock. We took a chance and drove to this Good Year location. They had our tire in stock. They it changed and back on our car in an hour. So thankful as we lived 3 hours away. I am so disappointed in so many ways! I went in early and made an appointment to get my leaky tire fixed. When I came back at my appointment time, the tall thin, very unfriendly man behind the counter quoted me a high price. He said 'oil change' I said no. Then he said 'alignment' and again I said NO. I told him my appointment was for a tire fix....he said 'oh'. No apology for the mix up at all. THEN, after waiting 50 minutes...I was told it would take 20-30....I looked out to see my car still sitting in the parking lot. I asked what was going on with the car...that I had a noon appointment and the unfriendly clerk said....'we're late'....duh! He came back in and said he is just pulling it in now....I refused and said I was leaving. The clerk DID NOT APOLOGIZE or try to make my bad experience any better...he basically did not care if I left unhappy! I feel sorry for the owner/manager for employees like that! They DO NOT document everything they do -they rotated my tires and have no proof on their end- I know where my tires were before I took them in and suddenly they are moved and you don't know why?? Also took my car in almost a yr ago after going off the road and they sent me away saying things were fine- I now have a huge bubble in that exact tire I had them check and now have issues with the other 3 tires because of it! So, lots of bad reviews here. I drove in with a bolt near the sidewall with air escaping fast at 2PM. I had stopped at another tie shop who told me I'd need new tires on the front (my rear we're near end of life also). I had misplaced my lug locking wrench and they solved that problem but could not fix the tire. The manager spent half an hour trying to fix the problem to no avail. He didn't have my tires in stock so ordered them. My truck was ready at 9:30 the next day. His price was less than equivalent 4 tires elsewhere. This was the best service I have received from any vendor of any product. read more

Had a screw in my tire so I showed up at 7: 05 just when they opened. One car in a bay and one car in the parking lot, no customers, two mechanics in the garage. A 3rd guy came out and and asked how he could help me, no good morning, just straight to the point. I told him and asked me if I had an appointment, when I told him no he told me it wouldn't be ready until 1pm. I got the feeling patching a tire wasn't worth his time or money. I only went there because that's where I purchased all four tires. Next it will be purchased tires someplace else. FYI. When my car battery decided it wanted to die, literally right across from Goodyear, I thought it just had to be a sign. My friend pushed the car, while I got to sorta ghost ride the whip, over to the parking lot. The guys who work there are super nice. They ended getting me a battery for $90 bucks. I totally thought they were gonna rip me off. Wheew. They finished my car within an hour and I was back on the road. I can't say that I had any complaints. I will most definitely be back, but hopefully not anytime soon. read more

I had a positive experience with this Goodyear location. I had all four tires replaced with a recommended alignment based on wear patterns on my tires. I never had an alignment check done on the vehicle so, I went with the recommended service. They took me in on short notice when I decided to change appointments. They even shuttled me to my house and picked me back up (I live in the area). Daniel took good care of me and even put my $40 rebate form completely filled out and in an envelope to mail off. It turns out that I did need the alignment and that I have one bad axle. They gave me free rotations and recommended to do so every 4k as further repairs for this problem could not be done for my make. Four economy tires for my Golf ran $500 with $100 alignment. This is a pretty standard price around town, as I had called around to different locations before. I have went to Costco in the past to do my tires, and it would have been $100 cheaper to go there ($60 with rebate), however this place was not only close to home, but the tires they offered were good for 20k more miles than Costco. That is an entire extra year for all four tires!! It was about a two hour wait and they were very busy with auto repairs and tire changes, but with a ride home and back it was no bother! I had my car in 8 hours at Costco once before, so I decided never again!! I was treated very fairly here and remind people to do the same to others. This is a very hard working crew here. Whoever I talked to last time I came in for an alignment gave me the impression that they could not adjust the camber on my 2008 sprinter van. I returned today to see if they could replace the front struts. Daniel was helpful in explaining that they actually can adjust the camber, but it requires an aftermarket shim part which they can special order. I docked them a star because they should have informed me of this the first time I brought it in so that I could have avoided the uneven wear that my tires now have on the shoulders. read more

I recently bought a car from a man in Santa Cruz who took it to Goodyear to have a 67mph shimmy checked out. Supposedly they told him that they balanced all four tires and that should be the problem and it was fixed. it wasn't. I had to drive the car 320 miles shuddering all the way between 67-73mph. I believed it must still be the tires, so resolved to take it to my local tire shop in Mt. Shasta and have it checked out (Still need to do today) but last night, just to check, I discovered that they allowed the tires to leave the shop with 45-48 psi which is nearly DOUBLE the recommended tire pressure of 26psi. No wonder it felt like a tank. I still have to drive the car after de-flating the tires but that alone should be the basis of a local law suit if I lived anywhere near Santa Cruz. I've been going to the Capitola Goodyear for about 3 years, and I can't complain about one thing. The tires I purchased were reasonably priced (Eagle GTs rated for 50,000mi) at $100 each with a $40 rebate. They make driving really comfortable and they're going strong 35,000 miles later. The guys who work there work hard, have a great sense of humor, and will treat you like a human being if you do the same to them. Good prices on oil changes, they will always try to fit you into their schedule, and they do great work in a short amount of time. In an oil change pinch I recently took my car to the Goodyear on Water St. (Privately owned, not corporate) - big mistake. When I got my car back the alignment was super messed up, I brought it to Capitola and they fixed it right up. Just a couple days ago I convinced my boyfriend to pick up new tires at the Capitola Goodyear and get his Subaru Impreza's 105,000 service done as well. The car feels like an entirely different vehicle - the guys did a great job. read more

I am so happy with the service I received at this Goodyear location, the timeliness of the repairs, and the cordial attitude of the staff at this location. I came to this location after being over-quoted at a competitor on Soquel Avenue. I've noticed that as a young woman entering an automobile/mechanic environment, I'm often met with condescending attitudes or people who think I don't know anything about cars. So, when I went to a competitor that seemed to believe they could rip me off/talk me into services my car didn't need, I was thrilled to land at Goodyear. The manager (I think his name is Jim?) was down to earth, honest, and friendly when helping me figure out which tires to purchase. He also did not pressure me to get any additional services, but mentioned Goodyear's upcoming sales/deals should I be interested in the future. I will definitely be back to have my car aligned here as opposed to the competitor on Soquel. I'm so grateful for an honest place that did exactly what I asked. read more

Had to have my tires replaced while I was over the hill in Los Gatos, and prior to the replacement had used fix a flat as a quick fix. TPMS safe or so they say. About one month after getting my tired replaced, the TPMS light starts flashing indicating there's an issue with the system and not just low tire pressure. Took my car to Goodyear Capitola to have them reset the TPMS system to see if that fixed it before replacing sensors thinking they might be old. Goodyear took a look at the sensors while resetting the system and found one of the sensors had fix a flat all over it which should have been cleaned off when the tires were replaced. They replaced the sensor and reset the system and didn't charge me a thing. Combined with the fact that they offer routine maintenance for Subarus, they are hands down one of the best shops in town. I'll definitely be taking my Subaru back there for all of its regular service. A special thanks to Bret for taking care of all of this in only an hour and a half or so. read more

My husband and I have both taken our cars to Goodyear for years. In the past year or two, they've really gone downhill in terms of being timely - taking the car in at the scheduled time and having it finished at the scheduled time. Then, after my husband's car's last oil change, he was having to put in oil before the next scheduled maintenance, something that has never happened before. He took it somewhere else and they found that Goodyear had put in the wrong size oil filter, which explained the problem. We are so done with Goodyear. read more

I had my tires replaced and a wheel alignment done here. My experience here was very positive since I was getting ready to move and driving cross country. The tires and wheel alignment went very well except a bolt affecting the alignment was frozen in place. I brought it back when their ASE mechanic was there. There was nothing that could be done on the cheaper side. The service advisor was polite and knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me into other things I didn't need and pressure me into trying to fix the bolt. I would go back there again. read more

This was one of the most excruciating auto appointments I've ever had. Came in twice to get a simple pass/fail inspection done for a ride service. Both times told it would be 2 plus hours. Seems unbelievable a company would agree to do these types of inspections but not give them some sort of priority. The staff is NOT interested in this business. It doesn't make them money, I get it but at least be courteous and knowledgeable. Staff didn't know how to fill out form. Staff let me wait an additional 1/2 hour while they tried to sell tires to someone else who walked out. Left key in my car, windows down in busy area and then couldn't get car out because it was boxed in. read more

My classic 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider got a flat tire way up Eureka Canyon road one Saturday. After slowly driving downhill on the flat for a couple miles, we thought we had cell phone service. Long and short is some neighbors kindly drove us down to Corralitos to call AAA. I didn't know any tire repair shops, and my Alfa mechanic had recently closed his shop and retired. So, AAA dropped it off in my driveway. I asked Emile's Sports Car Performance, which services classic English cars, where his clients got tires installed. He recommended Goodyear. Said he never had a problem with them. I ordered 4 tires from Tire Rack and had them drop shipped to this Goodyear service center. On arrival notification I set up an appointment, and after having installing the spare, I drove over. It's hard to see so many ordinary cars around a restored classic, but I waited and watched. It took about an 45 min to an hour for removal, balancing with sticky weights, and installation of the new tires. They dated the spare (2005) and then found a tire for its replacement as well from their own local stock. (All five tires were really old) Then they did an alignment, which took at least as long (it's Italian, so it's different and harder.). The mechanic was very complimentary about my garage queen, and took special care. The price was amazing. $20 to mount and balance each tire, sounds like Costco prices. $100 for the alignment. I forget, but the total bill was way less than I was used to paying for that much service on my old Volvo. Drove off happy and the car was clearly in better alignment. Part 2: My other car is a Tesla. I got a flat one day early 2020, clearly a puncture. Another tire shop in town couldn't fix it as the tires have foam on the interior (Continentals). So I called Tesla Mobile Service. They came to the house and fixed it but the bill was about $60. After the experience with Goodyear, I called to ask if they could fix these Tesla tires, yes they could. In March I got another puncture, same tire. Discovered it in the morning and re-inflated the tire. Called Goodyear, they weren't busy as we were all "staying at home". Drove over. 45 minutes and $20 later my tire puncture (a nail this time) was fixed. So, I'm a fan. I might not use them for engine work on the Alfa or my old Volvo , but oil changes, brakes, and tires even for theTesla, I'm going back. read more

Normally I think this place is decent, not sure I'd go 5 stars. But tried to schedule a service with them today (they open Sundays) and no one answered the phone. Figured they were probably busy. Successfully scheduled online, showed up at the shop and they were closed. No posted signs giving reasons or saying they would be closed. Just a locked door and garages. This morning I had an appointment and left with plenty of time; the low tire light was on the dash. I live on 38th so I swung in Good Year (where I had bought the tires). the bays weren't full yet but there at least four guys in the shop who went out of their way to ignore me. I got out of the car, leaving it running and the door open and ran inside to the waiting room to get some help. I was ignored some more until one service guy came around the counter carrying a clip board to talk to one of the customers waiting and told me he would be with me in a few minutes, I turned and left. I went to the Shell Station and added some air to the fronts, but the gauge was broken, so I took my chances on 17 with the light still on my dash. After my appointment (I was 20 minutes late) I went to Good Year in Los Gatos, was greeted appropriately and helped quickly. read more

He could care less about providing me any help of any kind and in fact lost my business after his ill attitude. Get your alignment checked prior to getting your tires from this place. I just got charged for an alignment that my car did not need. Had it checked just before this and my alignment was fine. I called goodyear to get a quote on mounting two tires and getting an alignment. I was quoted 25 dollars per tire and 89 on the alignment. Upon bringing the car in, the price increased to 40 a tire due to the rim being a 20. The person who quoted me 25 was told the type of car on quote and just couldnt be bothered to check. Dealing with the frost desk guy caused nothing but worry as he constantly seemed unsure of any information I was asking and could only say "20 in rims are hard". I decided to get the work done anyways, and I wish I had not. The installer scuffed the rims in several places with the tire iron, they did not clean the rims, leaving fluid and soap everywhere from then installation. When I next took the car to Glenns Auto for a oil change (a great place, but doesnt do alignments) the mechanic there informed me that for some reason, there was copious amounts of duct tape on the inside of both rims that overlapped onto the tire. The entire install feels like whoever did it has no pride in their work, and the company does not seem as though they care much about the customer at all. I would pay double the price at a different company based soley on the fact that it wasnt this shop touching my car again. Very disappointing shop. read more

Took my 1997 BMW 528i in for a simple brake job and oil change. Was told i needed roters initially. Went in to pick up my car and noticed the "brake light" warning was on. Was told I needed an e-brake part for another $163.00 and that then the light on the dash would go out. Left car with Goodyear again. When I paid and left I noticed the warning light on dash was still lit. I was told I needed a master cylinder for $390!! OMG--I left as quickly as possible. Went to another brake guy who said a sensor wire appeared to be pulled , thereby creating the lit sensor on dash. Also said brakes had not been bled and a bolt in left tire was missing!! I will never go to that company again. read more
