Goodwin has been to my property twice so far. First time was when we first moved in; wooded lot and TONS of insects and a few mice. Handled everything and saw no living insects after that. With spring we began to see activity and got them in a 6 month service for 2018 maintenance. Second visit was more of the same professionalism; very polite, easy to talk to and genuinely interested in our pest control. Reasonably priced and flexible schedule. Easy to recommend. We have had other services in other states and we feel the best about Goodwin. read more

I'm a disabled war veteran i was in the hospital for 6 months i come home and I have bugs. At first seemed like she was on my side. Bottom line i still have them. I paid her and her boyfriend used my card to pay his gambling deposit. My clothes are still in trash bags that I paid to get washed. Now I have to start over Less$750 read more

Rude. Don't respond if the job they did was inferior and didn't get rid of bed bugs at all after 5 times of treatment applied. Wouldn't let us view them doing treatments. Whatever they did didn't work and wouldn't honor their 90 day warranty. Absolutely failed to get rid of bed bugs for us. read more

I used this service a few years ago and they did a fine job. I tried again but Melissa first asked for money up front to cover costs she didn't have for supplies. Then! Her technician never showed up when he was supposed to! I tried all morning to contact Melissa but had no luck. Finally around 3pm I was contacted by Melissa the owner. She said she had no idea her employee didn't do his job. I guess she went to the dentist. Somehow all that's my problem. Did not show up for more than one scheduled appointment, for various reasons. When it was raining, they said they would have to come back to spray outside perimeter of the house, which was never completed. Never came back for any of the follow-up treatments that are included in the initial cost of a full treatment. Stopping returning calls / ignored emails when I requested they refund part of the payment made upfront for an incomplete job. Had to hire another company weeks later. read more

BEWARE!!!! If you use these people make sure you get pictures or some kind of proof that they are not lying to you! I had a Bee nest on front of my house. The son Richard Jr. and another guy with him. They checked out the nest then said I need to see your attic. Richard Jr. told me I had 13 bees nest in my attic! Me being in a wheelchair I believed them. I "had to pay" before they would "spray" them. I asked for pictures, When Richard Jr. came back down he had "good news and bad news" Good news he sprayed the bees- The bad news his flashlight died and he couldn't get pictures. On 2nd visit to check - Richard Jr. said Great news!! The bees are dead, "forgot" to take pictures. So I asked how big are the nests , He made a fist and said about 3 times the size of my fist. I asked, are you going to take the nests down? His response "Oh ya, I'll get them next time". I had my daughter's boyfriend check my attic when they came into town. -There was NOT 13 bee hives in my attic!! There were NONE!! I called Immediately and ask for owner, Melissa answered and said I am the owner. When I told her who I was and why I was calling Richard Sr. was suddenly put on the phone, Who got defensive and went right in to "You are 1 person you won't ruin my business" - Do you think your at Walmart?.. You can call the BBB- You can take me to court -It will take years to get settled (note it would be small claims -dose not take years) And you can say your recording this conversation which we know your not!!! I Said nothing about calling the BBB, trying to ruin his business, taking him to court or recording the conversation. (I was on speaker and have witnesses to how he talked to me) I did say you come down right now! (Yes, that was a little crazy on my part) Richard Sr. said you don't tell me what to do! And he would call me tomorrow and "If" I apologized to Him for how I was talking to him, He just mite see what he could/would do after he talked to his son. Well I would/will not let you ,your wife or son step foot in my house! There is NOTHING to look at, he lied!! Took advantage of a person In a wheelchair, who trusted his word Because I Can't go to attic to look my self. For all those that had an issue about a technician not showing up, it has been determined that there was a guy that was posing as a pest control technician. The guy has been known to do this with other companies. The guy that is doing this goes by the name of Richard. Goodwin pest control came is and resolved all of our issues. Jeff and Jess were fantastic and wonderful to deal with. For those that had issues, if you reach out to them, ask for them and they will resolve any complaints you have. I think Goodwin does a great job. They are trustworthy and seem to know their work. Richard Goodwin got right to work and found the source of our problems. In our home in Sugar Bush Knolls north of Kent we had no screen over the ventilators. This may have been because of the new roof we put on last year. He is correcting this issue. We have a summer home and during an absence squirrels duh a hole into the attic. He is trapping the squirrels and releasing them in the forest. We have several visits to go, but so far this family owned business seems to be just the honest operation we had hoped to find. read more

This is late post but I had to make sure people know how great and informative this company is. I was in town helping care for my grandmother when we discovered there were bed bugs on my grandmothers couches. Naturally I freaked out!! And I found them through YELP and called them immediately. I spoke to Richard and he informed me that his company does cover my area. And that he would take the 50min drive Out to assess the situation. Sure enough he did the next day. But for that whole day I waited in panic for him to arrive, he kindly answered my calls with questions of sheer panic, one call to him was "should I throw the couches out now?" Another was "what tempeture do I wash things" he must have got 4 phone calls from me, the day before he arrived. But with each call he assured me if I had any questions I could call him and that it was no bother at all. He runs a company that simpithyzes with the customer and what they are going thru. Richard is about the quality of his work and he stands by his word. Even making an extra trip to spray our new couches. Something he didn't have to do but did. He is super informative and His prices are extremely reasonable for the quality he is putting out. I would definitely recommend Richards company to anyone in need. Called on a Saturday and they came out the same day. Did not charge an excessive amount for being a weekend to our surprise. Very nice and professional. This company is the best. I called other companies and was quoted much higher prices and they did not really answer any of my questions or give me much instructions on their procedures. I finally called Goodwin's. Spoke with owner, he spent time explaining their procedure, what I need to do to prepare before the visit as well as gave me information on bed bugs in general. The price was extremely reasonable and included up tp 3 visits for one price. Getting ready to call and schedule the 2nd visit. Would highly recommend this company. I WILL BE SUING FOR A FULL REfUND LIKE OTHERS ON HERE. THEY TAKE PEOPLES MONEY AND DONT DO THE WORK. I hired these guys on recommendation from a work buddy. I had bats in my chimney and attic and decided to give them a call without reading their reviews. It has been two months at this point and I still have bats in my chimney and possibly my attic. I paid them $400 in cash up front and got a receipt saying I paid and there would be three visits with a three month guarantee that the bats wouldn't come back or they would fix it again. After their brief first visit I had to call and call and call for months to even get them back a second time. They never answer their phones and they dodge my texts and calls. The company is split in two and the guy they call "Bubba" is the one who takes peoples money and doesn't show up. they claim they have done a good job so far but second time they came they didn't even spray my chimney and I still have bats. I could not recommend a worse company than this one to deal with your problem. Spongebob with a jellyfish net would do a better job than this clown. read more

I am sad that I have to write an updated review on this company. I used this pest control company for a very bad infestation I had several years ago.. when the business was still new. Richard and his crew did an absolute AMAZING job! They not only got rid of the nasty pests, they saved my furniture, treated me like family, and was super reasonably priced! I continued to use their services over the years. Still had the same feel to it! Fast forward to several months back, I called them for a gnat problem I had. Mostly in my basement.. before his worker left, he told me to call in a week to schedule a follow up appointment.. I did, and the owners wife scheduled my appointment and time. That date came and no one showed up. When I called, no one answered. I sent Richard a text and no response se. I called a few more times, left messages, and still nothing. Not sure why I got the red X, but it is what it is. Guess I'll have to find someone else to help me with my pest issues. read more

I called on Friday, Richard answered the phone. I had to ask if I had the correct company. In my experience most companies will answer the phone identifying their company. He was able to identify the insects that I described and stated he could put me on the schedule for Saturday at 1:00. I had to give him my address twice during the conversation. On Saturday we waited until 2:30 no one ever showed up. No one called. I wasted my day. I still have the problem. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

So I found my dream house one floor 4 bedrooms and a big yard surrounded by tall bushes when we got it the house needed lots of work we took 2 big dumpster out full of trash in the process of doing so I need the girl that lived in my house previously I was 7 months pregnant at the time and I told her she could come get whatever she wanted because she got evicted I figured she just couldn't get it moved in time and we was taking time to clean and re paint the whole house and do all the floors well the girl told me just because u seem nice and I did have my 5 other kids running around she told me there are bed bugs mice and roaches so now I'm stressed I told my landlord I need an exsterminator we he hired them I gave them an extra key shoot it was empty why not he said every 2 weeks for 3 month I explained I have 5 kids bout ya have another one and everything I own I bought within the last 12 months I'm talking furniture beds everyyyyy thing .... I told him and stressed to him I needed everything gone before I moved in so we wait 3 months first a month in here come the roaches he come back out and spray spray can roach killer you know the $3 can we can all buy the roach still around a month later so I text him because the mice well the house was still infested really bad so I text him and he is the most unprofessional wanted to argue and just very in professional he was so mad because I was complaining to him so I called we had many calls and text back and forth finally I told him it's ok I called my land lord and he had another company come out well they got rid of the roaches then 7 months later I find the bed bugs I had to get termites to come out 1700$ later I am bedbug free Goodwin pest needs shut down all he is doing is taking your money and ripping u off never use this service it's terriable read more
