I thought the donation process was easy - as soon as I pulled into the covered, drive thru drop off area someone came out to meet me and has very cheerful and kind. They accepted everything. I shopped the store; it is mostly clothing. Some goods in the back. Prices for things that are actually new/unused were high. I thought prices for actual used stuff was 'in the ballpark' but higher than I'd hoped. Checkout was quick and easy. I bought myself a used 3-iron for golf. I was interested in the accusations of excessive CEO pay, so did some research. Goodwill is run independently, this one is GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE COLUMBIA WILLAMETTE. If Goodwill wanted to dispense these accusations of high pay they should just publish compensation in their annual report; yet they dont. One needs to go googling; internet searches showed Michal Miller made better than $600k, and Catherine Hannam well over $400k. So I'm inclined to agree with these excessive pay accusations. Not what I would view as in-line with their mission. read more

The inside sales staff is always pleasant and efficient. The donation area was a different story. We were making donations after a family member passed. The donations guy, an older person was rude and "grabby" while unloading items he was rudely snatching them out of my hands and being pushy. His behavior and attitude were not appreciated. I know that they will say that the reason the prices are the way they are is because of all the programs and the benefits that they support, but it really is ridiculous the pricing inthis store. The store isn't very clean, items they're selling are all fairly worn out or beat up, and they're wanting full price for a shirt that was donated or seven dollars for a beat up paperback. It's just not worth it. I've been to Goodwill's all over, specifically ones in California and in bigger cities, and the pricing is not as bad as it is here. read more

Every time we visit the property we encounter a motivated, courteous staff and very clean, organized layout.

I think the price is overpriced for a donation merchandise. Everything is priced too high. Some merchandise are cheaper at regular store.

We visited this location while on vacation. This Goodwill is clean, organized pretty well for a thrift store, and big. It seems a lot bigger from the outside, but most of that is due to the back room. It was a busy day for them when we were there. The staff we encountered in the aisles and at the registers were all pleasant and friendly. We found a great piece of art for $20 that now hangs in my living room. That's more than I would think Goodwill should charge, because people who need to go shopping out of necessity at a thrift store can't afford that. The parking lot is huge and ample. read more

It is cheaper to buy items brand new than it is to purchase them from this goodwill. If a clothing item is priced at $7.99 or more, the in-sewn tag is marked with Sharpie to indicate the price by using Roman numerals. One of the worst goodwills as far as pricing goes. Brand names are priced upwards of $20, no matter what state/condition the item is in. They have Dollar Tree items for as much as $5! Why is this store so expensive??? Everything gets donated, why not be just somewhat more realistic, seeing it's used and free to them. It's way better to go to the bins, although there isn't one nearby. I'm going to private thrift stores from here on. read more

This is an extremely large store from the outside, but, once you get inside, you realize that about half of it is dedicated to the back room and job center. Even then, it's still a pretty large retail space, but probably not much bigger than most other locations. The prices are what kills me. Everything in this store is far more expensive than what I was used to with Goodwill stores on the East Coast. My guess is that, in a job market as poor at the Oregon North Coast has, the prices of used goods go up, as the likelihood of consumer demand for used goods rises. Did I get that right? I never actually took Economics. I've had a couple of good finds at this location. My wife has, as well. Nothing that great, though. I'd much prefer a Value Village in this area, as they seem to take a noticeable interest in the quality and functionality of what they sell. This place sells blender tops without the bottoms, stained clothing, board games with over half the pieces missing, and a lot of miscellaneous crap that most normal people would just consider trash. I guess it's for a good cause, and I can't really knock 'em for that. I'd like to see things priced a little more accordingly, though. We're talkin' about used Seaside hoodies and Rustler jeans here, not bars of gold. read more

I don't find as good of things here as I do in the bigger city Goodwills, but that's because each Goodwill relies on donations from its community. I have found some great books and board games. The lines in the store are usually long, but I went in a few days ago and there were probably 12 people standing in line. I waited for about 7 minutes, and was only half way through the line, so I put my stuff on a shelf and walked out. The cashiers did call for help, but no one else was available apparently. The seem to be understaffed sometimes, but the employees who do help me are always very nice. Finally, I think they could do a better job pricing. Some of the prices in the home goods section are as expensive as they would have been in a retail store. read more

This is like the Taj Mahal of thrift stores. It is huge, fairly well organized, well staffed, and other than unavoidable clutter, quite clean. They also accept item donations here as well. What really impressed me was their job seeker centre. Sadly, our area is one of the most challenged counties as far as employment and the economy is considered. Goodwill offers a free job hunting / counseling service that is accessible and professional. I have now talked to three people who have taken advantage of their services and all of them are now gainfully employed. Great job Goodwill!!!! I was in there looking to get a lead to stow away in my car boot for emergencies (I am always prepared and tend to be the rescuer of stray animals---Bob Barker needs to pick up the pace in the animal nad whacking department so I don't have to play animal control any longer). Anyways........I saw this shiny black leather device with chains in the pet section and upon further examination noticed that it was, ummmm, errr, yeah, you guessed it, a full on bondage device that retails for a couple of hundred bucks. Not being into that sort of thing really, but having a hard time passing up a great deal, I now have an awesome set of straps and chains that I will put to grand use this Samhain on a costume. Prices are all over the place, but they offer a daily colour tag discount that drops the item with the matching colour tag by 50 percent!!! Hellova deal!!! This Goodwill brings in an insane amount of merchandise, so one can pop in daily and always find something new. They do have goods that are donated by retailers and are brand spanking (pardon the term...was thinking about my chain device again) new. Staff are always very friendly and hard working. Every now and then the clothing is placed in the wrong size area, but considering the volume of goods, it can happen. I have seen Targets worse organized actually. Score a great deal, help a good cause, and remember to donate your gently used items. It's a tax write off and a nice way to help others and deny the IRS' blood money. Twits!!! read more

When it comes to donating items, the first place I think of is Goodwill. Well I want to say that the past 2 times that I have made a donation at the main store that I have been made to feel like a crook. Yesterday I was at the drop off door at around 9:20 AM No one came out for a while so I began unloading the items I had planned on donating. Soon a clerk came out and starting reprimanding me telling me that I am guilty of "dumping." His tone was stern and argumentative. After the reprimand all of the items we taken which tells me that it was not junk that I was "dumping" all of which will be sold for a pretty price to help contribute to the multi million dollar salaries of the top executives of Goodwill. And the time before I was reprimanded also. We had had a garage sale and there were some showers that day. I had several vases that I was donating "We don't take items that are wet." Yes a few raindrops on vases of all things. Aren't vases made to hold water. I have made many donations at the Seaside location and have had good relationships with the staff there, however, the rudeness of the main store was unacceptable behavior. So...my comment, as a regular customer from The Dalles to Warrenton...Of all those stores WHY is your pricing The-Most-Bizarre?! I was a once a week shopper at the warrenton Oregon goodwill . I will not shop or donate there again . was told I could not write a check for 53.00 cuz of the store policy of no check over 50.00 .ok I agreed to pay the other 3.00 in cash. then the cashier whom has been very rude to me before, decided my address didn't match as my check needed a street address. why could she not write it in off my id. no she gets happy when she called her manager and told him just about to not ok me. thank you for getting me so embarrassed . I went to the Goodwill today and bought two filing cabinets I asked him to the employees how long I had to pick up the items and they said within 24 hours so I just live right down the street and was going to be back fairly soon with the truck to haul them in when I get back to Goodwill the items are gone I have paid for them and they could not find them they had either given them away to someone else or who knows what that's not very cool those were the items I wanted and they offered me something else or my money back but I wanted the items that I had picked out I paid for them and they were supposed to be safe in their back room but they weren't apparently this isn't the only person this is ever happened to read more

We waited on Weds in line if 25 to 30...I quit counting at 25, mostly older, handicapped customers. The line was created because one woman had a complaint and the cashier didn't know what to do. She called the manager...ten miniutes go by. Finally he shows up. Fixes issue. On the way to fix the issue though he takes time to chat about his vacation with a guy in front if us who is clearly a friend of his. The line is growing as he does this. He fixes issue then leaves. Then his buddy from in line leaves the line and chats w the checkout person. She stops checking people out to talk to him. She then lets him skip the line. He taunts everyone else in line about how he got to skip thw line. Another checker arrives...but line by now is to the rear of the store. Manager meanders back....and leaves. Never did he open a register himself. Clearly, if you hope to get service here, you had best be the managers physically capable fishing buddy...not a handicapped or elderly person. The donation guy in Seaside is rude as hell and the manager in Warrenton refused to take my donation because of a little hole in the back of 1 chair. The toy aisle floor in this Goodwill is covered almost completely with toys from the time the store opens until it closes, which is an effing lawsuit waiting to happen. The staff, including the manager, are busy counting ceiling tiles instead of policing the area and keeping it clean. This store, since nobody working there thinks it is his or her job to keep the toy aisle's floor clean, should just eliminate the toy section all together. As a direct result of this store turning a blind eye to kids tearing this aisle up on a daily basis and littering the floor with toys, other area thrift stores have stopped carrying toys. If there is any justice in the world some day a customer will slip and fall in the toy aisle in the Warrenton Goodwill and sue the pants off of corporate Goodwill. read more
