They carry some clothing, kitchenware, household decor, toys, books and more. Prices are better than big box thrift stores. The staff is super friendly, with some of the workers being volunteers. I picked up some children's books and information about volunteering. The parking lot is small and difficult to maneuver.

But when you find it, you'll see that these cats have a lotta good stuff. Mostly, you will find streetwear and novelty t-shirts and accessories at Naptown Thrift. Shirts run the gamut from band t-shirts, Mickey Mouse, sports, hobbies and other things. Have you been looking for a shirt that says, "It's five o'clock somewhere?" Do you need a hoodie that shows your undying love for Dayton Beach? Or maybe a ball cap with a black Labrador Retriever on it? This is the place for you. Speaking of ball caps, you'll also find lots of hats and caps, Indiana artwork for sale, posters, denim (both shorts and long pants), jackets and lots more. This thrift store skews toward the adult male, which is fine by me. I feel like we need more good vintage stores for the dudes around here. Dudes need places to find sick threads. The proprietor was friendly and engaging. He even suggested a few other nearby shops for us to check out. Several walls were filled with vintage local sport art. Colorful team hats hung from the ceiling. This is definitely a man cave dream shop. Racks were filled with vintage logo jackets, tee shirts and other sports wear. The place is really interesting. I didn't buy anything as I was really looking for houseware and I don't have a man cave. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall lot.

Falling under the umbrella of Good News Mission, a near-eastside ministry that started off as what one some would call a "homeless shelter" but has grown to include a youth center, supports for families, and even a neighborhood health clinic with a focus on the near-eastside. Good News Ministries Thrift Shop offers used or new clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and much more. The thrift shop is run by residents from the men's shelter and offers them work experience and direct customer interaction. I drive by the thrift shop just about every single day on the way to work and had long been curious, however, I never stopped in until recently to finally check it out. Those who were working in the story were friendly and helpful. Rest assured that this is not a Goodwill store - it's smaller, less organized, and definitely more crowded and a bit run down. However, I found it to be clean and actually was surprised how much they actually had. 100% of the proceeds from the thrift shop help to support the various efforts of Good News Ministries. It's worth noting that this very much a ministry as is everything with Good News. There's a strong foundation of faith here, specifically Christian, and it radiates throughout their offerings. In terms of accessibility, I'd say the thrift shop offers casual accessibility. Yes, you can get in it and the actual environment typically will depend on what they have at the time. I generally had not much difficulty, but it's a bit hit-and-miss. Because it's an old Village Pantry, the building itself was generally designed with accessibility in mind. I've never seen an actual crowd here. The small parking lot has informal options for accessibility like aisle ends, etc. The thrift shop is catty-corner to the Good News 10-unit family shelter and right by the East Washington Branch Library. Would I return? Definitely. Prices are good, options are plentiful, customer service is casual but helpful, and Good News has been around since the 1950s and has a long history of helping those with housing instability. Since this is only their 2nd review, I think it's safe to say this highly visible but often unnoticed thrift shop is definitely an under-appreciated gem here in Indy and a terrific way of supporting Good News Mission. They shortened hours on Labor Day. From the outside, the place seems small with bigger items typically outside to grab drivers' attention. They have a variety of (new and used) merchandise including furniture. It is like a Goodwill store but more organized. I was told that the items were donated, and they do not have sales. I bought a lap desktop with folding legs and section holders; it would be so helpful especially when I tend to find writing utensils that have fallen between the couch cushions. Also, a green long-sleeve dress shirt caught my eyes so I had to go look at it, which happened to fit me; how could I resist buying this name-brand, attractive shirt! I used that coupon for the shirt, so I got more savings than for the desktop. There seem to be a couple of spots I would like to try to wash out of the shirt. So both $5 or less. Sold! When I got home, I realized that maybe the shirt was new because there was a spare button attached. I will see if the ink on the sleeve comes out. I think the store changed its name to Noble Cause (but still led by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul) and did change their hours to M, T, Th, and F 9-3 with Wed. and Sat. only to serve from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's food pantry. The first rack I saw though was all designer items with really high prices and I thought maybe this wasn't the place for me as I am a thrifter and like to keep my fashion budget on the low side. I was pleasantly surprised with what I was able to find though. The gals that worked there were super helpful and answered the couple of questions that I had. I ended up with 5 items and I spent just $15 on those, what a deal! I will stop in again sometime to look as I had forgotten what was available in this store.

Yelp said the store opened at 9:30 am but they have changed their hours and now open at 10:00 am. I was the first one in the store and headed to my sons size. I ended up with ten items including a couple of zip up sweatshirt and buttons down shirts and paid $4.60 for all of it. Less than 50 cents an item. For the most park items were organized by size. All of the clearance items are mixed in, I would prefer them to all be together. It would make it easier to find them.

This is a thrift store with curated items and has some of the best vintage goods you'll find at some of the best prices. I went to the Zionsville location looking for dinner plates and side tables. I was very close to pulling the trigger on some vintage ceramic plates, but decided to keep looking at the last minute. The friendly woman behind the counter said that the merchandise changes very frequently, so I should check back soon. This store has lots of home goods, including frames, flatware, furniture, decorations, mirrors, rugs and light fixtures. There is also a small supply of raw items like kitchen sinks, doors, cabinets and other materials. The prices are very good, but just a tick higher than some of the other Habitat ReStores that I've visited in the Indy area. Still, I'll be back soon to see what new goodies have come in!

I have donated to this location twice now. The first time, the loading bay was occupied so I…read moreparked in the next space over. The woman assisting rudely told me I need to park in the bay next time when donating. Today, I arrived and parked in the bay as instructed. However, the garage door was closed and when I peaked in a window, it appeared dark inside. Due to the fact the store had just opened, I assumed the bay was not yet operating. I walked around the building to notify an employee of my desire to donate. Again, I ran into the same woman as before. This time she rudely asked me, "Did you ring the bell? That is how we know someone is here. Otherwise, we don't know." I did as instructed and was greeted by a gentleman who asked me if Restore was expecting my donation. Meanwhile, I am donating a $500 microwave and lightly used, in almost new condition, upholstered armchair. I understand in both instances instructions for proper protocol may have been the intention of this employee, but TONE and body language should also be considered in delivering a message. This is a great organization, but I feel conflicted after BOTH donations. I am turned off rather than inspired to continue donating to this location. Perhaps it is time to find an different charity.
