Unfortunately in the past couple months this specific Goodwill prices things like they are an antique mall. Even broken items or items missing pieces such as a tripod without the mounting part. The employees are nice and this Goodwill is usually pretty organized and clean but it's hard to keep going to this one based on how insane the prices for items are getting.

What wasn't expected was the large warehouse of furniture, garden items, sports equipment, cabinets, bikes a s more. Today's signage noted everything was 50% off. What wasn't expected nice compared to other thrift stores was the amount of space and shelves. Instead of items being on top of each other, it was easy to browse the aisles. Prices were across the board - in some cases, practical and reasonable, but in others the prices were stunningly high. Like do a double take because you think you read it wrong kind of high. We had a good time exploring, but left without taking anything home.

We were specifically looking for used books which this store used to have in abundance dedicating an entire wall. That has been reduced to a 3x4 bookcase with about 20 books. It gets worse. There was no ventilation, fans or A/C and only 2 small dressing rooms (in need of cleaning and disinfecting). Not enjoyable peeling off our drenched clothes to try on others. We purchased a few items (to justify our time?) and vamoosed. To top it all off, a taxi blocked the exit (parking is terrible BTW). Cross this one off the list!

Consequently, upon seeing Alexander Hamilton (the book) on a shelf at this Goodwill store, I could not contain my excitement. Then I saw that this literary treat I picked up was the book that inspired Lin Manuel-Miranda. Mind: BLOWN! I happened upon this Goodwill by tagging along with my two brothers. We walked around covering as much ground as possible since the store would be closing in less than 30 minutes. Employees were straightening up the store and chatting amongst each other- not always in a professional manner, but they were funny, so I didn't mind it. I purchased this book for $1.05, and my brothers bought fun little things of their own at a relatively low cost.

On top of the fact that they have a no bag policy stating that they "have the right to search your bags...but then you can't leave them at the desk to even shop! Had to literally leave my bag outside on the curb as I had nowhere else to put it. Needless to say I was able to go back out and get it fairly quickly as there was nothing worth wile inside.

We always find a few things at Re-Tail and it continues to be one of our favorite thrift shops to visit. Service is friendly and welcoming, and we love the rewards program implemented. Street parking. Make sure to watch signage in J-Town that outlines restricted times.

If only I had known......!!…read more While in Jeffersontown recently, I stumbled upon this amazing thrift shop that I didn't know existed. I am all about thrift shops, especially one whose proceeds go to the Animal Care Society, a non-kill/non-profit organization that gives second chances to Louisville animals in need. I wish that I had known about this wonderful shop when we adopted a puppy last year. There are so many items for pets in the shop, and most look brand new. We could have obtained our pup's collar, harness, food/water bowls, leash, and cute sweater here for less than half of what we paid retail!! In addition to pet-related items, there are household items, home decor items, linens, toys, books, clothing, shoes, jewelry, and much more. I'm certain that there would be new treasures to see with each visit due to continuing donations. The shop is clean, odor-free and well-organized. The lady who checked us out was so very kind and told us about their program that allows for a $5 off coupon after a certain amount of purchases. This thrift shop is a hidden gem and I will be donating my items here from now on, so that I can support the animals, and I know that I will be a frequent flyer perusing the goods for that item that I didn't know I needed!

The first time I came to this store I found the parking lot to be completely full. I passed on visiting the store for several months after that. Then by chance I was visiting with another patient at my KORT Physical Therapy.and she was touting how big of a selection of canes this location has. I decided to give it another try. Yep, you guessed it the parking lot was completely full again. Pass! Then I heard from another friend about the vast assortment of clean and almost new clothes. Last week I had time to burn so I gave it another try. Out of the whole parking lot there were four spaces on the farthest row from the store. I was about to leave when I spotted a car leaving from a closer spot. Score! I wasn't looking for anything in particular on this visit but enjoyed checking out the interior of the store. I may be back but I have to figure out what time of day is best to find a parking spot.

As I browsed the store & started picking up things to buy, I was sure that I wasn't going to get out of there for less than $50. My final bill was only $14! Some things are dirt cheap. Other things are cheap, but way too expensive for what they are. Other things are just expensive. My biggest advice for this store is to only go here when you're needing something for your home. If you go aimlessly looking, then you might come out with more than a few things that you didn't need at all. This store did seem more organized than at home. It's also much smaller. I still spent nearly 2 hours in the store looking at things, but that beats 3-5 hours in a larger comparable store. I'll most likely be back, but it'll be when I'm looking for something specific.

It's not the biggest in the Kentuckiana area, but it has the LARGEST Halloween decor variety that I've seen this year and the most well organized. They have grouped themes together very well. And by the way, if you find a spider web fan candelabra, lmk! I've only seen one this year and it was missing a candle cup. This store is also very accessible with ample parking, a ramp, and automatic doors. Not sure if we were there at shift change or what, but it was confusing that there 5 team members at the front for awhile and only 1 of them was ringing up the growing line of customers. When they got a second register open, things definitely started moving again and they were helpful and nice when it was my turn. Like I said, there might be a reason we don't know of, but other customers commented on it to me and I agree it was confusing, hence the 4/5.
