Snagged some goodies for my grandbabies!
Angela J.

This Goodwill location is closest to my home, so I frequent it the most. While it's not my favorite location, it's definitely in my top favorite and I'm tickled to have a good thrifting spot so close to home. Best thing about this location would have to be employees. In 5 years, I have never had an unpleasant experience and have always been met with typically really friendly service. This is a nice sized location and pretty well organized. The only thing that frustrates me here is that items that are part of a set are often not sold together as the intended set. It appears they take in a decent volume of items, so maybe they don't have the time/manpower to match things as they intake? I'm not sure. But I would purchase a lot more if this was done more regularly. I've been so heartbroken, several times, to find part of something vintage that I've been looking for, but not all of it...pass on it...and then the following week they put out the other half of the set, and the first half is already gone.

There's a new women's fashion consignment shop in Mooresville that is focusing on fashionable…read moreclothing that can be worn everyday. You won't find the dated stuff that a lot of shops carry. No prom dresses either. But if you want clothes that are in good condition and priced to sell, then stop on by. The place is so new that not all the improvements are in place. The walls are going to be repainted and the former business's carpet will be removed and replaced with wood flooring. It's a little spare in decor right now, but it should be looking good soon! And as my wife can attest, if you have good quality clothing that for some reason you aren't wearing, this is a spot to bring them to see if you can earn some cash back (or in my wife's case, in store credit towards purchases.) She's lost over 25 pounds and has been able to find several pieces to buy while having some of her items sell. It's a win-win! The location is northwest of the intersection of SR 144 and SR 67 (near the Squealer's). It has taken over the space of the Divine Consign that was there for a long time. The owner of this new place has experience in consignment and ventured out to start her own place. Support local! Review #2072

It carries all sizes in women's clothing, as well as jewelry, handbags, shoes, and other odds and ends. Real deal vintage clothes up in here. We're talking the Greg Brady fringed vests and polyester…read moreshirts from the 1970s. Fur coats and porkpie hats from a time when fur coats and porkpie hats were worn in earnest and not ironically. I visited Cherry Canary around Halloween season, and there were a lot of people stopping by to look for pieces for their costumes. I can see why -- much of their clothing would make excellent costumes. But I don't see why you couldn't wear a wool sailor suit any other time of the year. You just need some chutzpah. Like a good vintage store, the clothing racks are jam-packed with clothes, so it's a little overwhelming to go through everything. But that's a good thing -- it just means they have a lot of stuff and a big selection. Everything is displayed tastefully, and they have a section for men's clothes and one for women's. They have little dressing rooms for you to try on the clothes, too, but be aware that the lighting in the dressing rooms is very dim. They also have a little corner for knickknacks and accoutrements, such as vintage luggage, glassware and planters.

First off, the shop owner here is SO nice and helpful. I mentioned the decade I was shopping for and she pulled quite a few lovely pieces down for me. The merchandise here is in great shape and I feel like I bought so many treasures while I was there. I feel like this shop has something for everyone here. I scored some 1950s dresses, and 1940s dress, and even a 1930s peignoir. The prices vary, with older items usually being priced higher. However, I think the items are worth the price because they are basically one-of-a-kind at this point and are in solid shape.

I have been a customer before of Simply Chic. One of the reasons I have liked supporting them in…read morethe past, is they are local and smaller than some other stores. It's probably been 8 months or so since I was in last. I went in looking for a good pair of used blue jeans. Wow, I was shocked by the prices. One pair I found was $35 for a pair of used blue jeans. I think I found one pair for under $20. I am sorry, but I am not ok spending that much on used blue jeans. So I passed. I did look in active wear, the prices were a bit better, but not by much. I get that the store is trying to make money. For me, if I am going to pay that much. I will just spring for the new version. $20-$35 dollars for used blue jeans is ridiculous. Like I said, I wanted to support local. At this point I am looking at other options. Online, picking through goodwill, or waiting a bit and saving for brand new. As far as service goes. I can not speak on that. I didn't interact with anyone.

While their prices are fairly steep, the items are in good condition and you don't need to sort through as many 'older' items to find your desired 'treasures'. Like Plato's, you can bring in clothes to resale. Again, employees are picky about what they buy and what they offer, as that is part of the job. Don't come in expecting to be rich, but maybe think of it more as making something rather than nothing. In my experience, one employee was very friendly while one was standoffish, but like any business, employees come with their own personalities. The store was clean, parking was spacious, and they have dressing rooms available for use!
