You'll find a lot of appliances, furniture, cabinetry, doors, tiling, some home decor items, and what would probably be best described as contractor supplies such as cleaning supplies, adhesives, and various small items. You can get some great prices and depending what your needs are, it's probably worth a look. The staff and patrons are all very friendly. Ample parking in the shopping center's lot. Handicap parking is nearby.

The pantry directly serves individuals on a daily basis by providing food that is donated by a variety of community partnerships. Individuals and families can receive food commodities by visiting the Help Center, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-12pm and 1-3:30pm. Individuals and families may be eligible for emergency food designed to provide meals for 3-5 days through a referral made by the Department of Social Services. To receive a referral from the Department of Social Services, individuals should contact the Homeless Outreach and Services Intake Center at 443-986-3548. The Cecil County Help Center also serves as a hub for other food pantries and faith-based organizations that have the mission of meeting the needs of those facing food insecurity. The Help Center receives food from a variety of partners including the Maryland Food Bank. This food is then distributed to local pantries in various parts of the County to ensure that citizens have convenient access when a need arises.

As per their Facebook page they are described as the owner had a dream to purchase property, have her own store, and provide affordable housing to women in need. This store is considered for profit, however she states that she uses the funds to renovate the upstairs apartments in hope to help women escape bad relationships by providing affordable housing options. I support her vision. I was lucky enough to visit the store a few weeks before Christmas when the parking meters were covered. Normally there's a fee for street parking however I'm not sure if it's because of the season or covid that street parking was free. It's a bit hard to secure downtown and difficult to back out of since the spots are slanted but not impossible. Inside the store has an overwhelming amount of stuff. Not quite hoarder level but there's alot to take in. The property is a series of small rooms, you walk thru one to get to another, with lots of nooks and crannies. It is a challenging space to set up for retail and she does what she can to make it organized. It is hard to walk thru some areas and definitely leave the stroller and big handbag at home! Some areas have nice displays and she does have a good eye for showcasing more precious items. Overall there's every department that a larger thrift store would have, just separated a bit. What surprised me was everything was yard sale prices - like .50 cents and a $1! While some of the clothing items were dated I did find some nice kids pieces that I couldn't leave without for .50 apiece! Many of the house and glasswear pieces were vintage and still priced at yard sale prices. I honestly don't know how she makes any money. On the porch was a free clothing pile which I didn't investigate. The owner was very friendly and let you walk around and explore on your own without being intrusive, but was available to help if you needed her. They are cash only so be sure to bring some and definitely allow yourself some time as this is not an in and out kind of shop. Worth adding to my thrifting rotation whenever parking is available.

This is a food bank…read more Why give? Because they're working hard to get food into hungry people's hands. This is a mission. They have to break even, but this is a mission of theirs. It's worth supporting. 1. You may make a food donation, if you have something in quantity that is of good quality that you're ready to donate. 2. The second way to help is to give your time. They need help making up boxes (about 30 lbs per box of fresh food) that are distributed to needy persons up and down the east coast of the US and out into the middle of the country. 3. Give em some cash. They have to pay for all their utilities and their building and they have paid staff as well as volunteers. This food bank makes up food boxes that get distributed not just all over Lancaster County, but all over the eastern half of the country. They really help a LOT of people. You can make a difference helping them help others. Lancaster County is a special place. Blessings of Hope is part of what makes it special.

The employees are approachable and friendly. Today, I was only dropping off my donations at the drive through, along with many others. The line moved expeditiously and the employee assigned to the outside was able to multitask yet make you feel as if you were priority number one. The only downside is that with the pandemic, the bins have been removed necessitating a trip to the store. Completely understandable and still easy and convenient.

Maybe I was too preoccupied with the big box thrifts in the area; Community Aid, Salvation Army, and Goodwill to go out and explore those less known. Do yourself a favor - don't make my mistake! This little thrift store is full of treasures waiting to be discovered and supports a number of ministry projects. Easy to find off Route 72 and open till 8 pm most days this location in a residential neighborhood has its own lot. Inside you'll find displays that will rival any retail store window. The organization is thoughtfully arranged by color/size/garment and it's easy to find exactly what you're looking for. If you're a brand whore you won't be disappointed. I saw many Chico, Dress Barn, and even Michael Koors pieces, all in top notch condition. Several items still had tags attached. While their inventory isn't as plentiful as the big box thrift, it's ample. Quality and current trends were on point. Just like their Palmyra sister store the jewelry display is artfully arranged. Prices were fair. On average shirts ran from $3.99-$5.99, jeans and pants a bit higher. I scored a great pair of like new shoes for $3, Halloween items were just .25 cents apiece - regardless if it was a pair of funky glasses or a full blown costume. While there were only a few, it's worth checking out. Aside from ladies clothing which dominates the store you'll find a men's section, children's clothing, toys, housewares, a very small furniture dept. (with signs saying that area will be transformed into a Christmas area in the next few weeks), housewares, wicker, bric brack, books, + a small card & craft section. While I browsed soft music played overhead and the cashier was very eager to assist in any way she could to enhance your shopping experience. The two dressing rooms were clean, spacious, and had plenty of hooks. A 50% off coupon can be found in some of the weekly rural newspaper editions and they also offer different specials/sales events from time to time. They even accept returns on clothing only up to 14 days. Electronics are checked but you're encouraged to plug in and verify for yourself since they can't be returned. Donations are easy to unload at the dock and I overheard they welcome your donation of unwanted boxes and plastic bags. Now that I know they exist I'll be checking them out more often!

Basically, they're charging literally double or more than double the market value for most items, especially in housewares. See the photos of a bowl priced at $24.99, and the identical bowl that sold on Ebay (actual sold comp) for $12.00 recently. Isn't the Salvation Army supposed to be a THRIFT store? Not an extremely expensive vintage boutique? Is the person doing the pricing on crack or some type of other drug? I thought that the whole mission involved getting people OFF of drugs. Maybe try lifting your head from the crack pipe once in a while, and pricing things fairly that undeserved people can actually afford. Disgusting and despicable fraudulent, market-manipulation pricing. Shocking and outrageous. I also noticed there are like five people here. This store won't last, and that's a good thing.
